oMG you won’t believe the amount of time it took me to finish this!! Not only because anatomy is hard af, but also because I wasted so much time drawing a bunch of clothes for them that this basically turned into a dress up game lmao anyway I will post all the other outfits some time later in case anyone want to see more of my questionable fashion designs.

I feel attacked.

2017 Drarry Fanart Year in Review: Draco alone

I was so amazed by the constant output of fantastic Draco & Harry artwork this year; it made me want to do a year-end retrospective of some of the highlights which came by my dash.

There were SO MANY great pieces of art that I’ve had to divide my favorites up into themes to make it manageable. Consequently, this is just one of multiple posts I have planned - 9 categories, one post per category per day.

Listen to 'I Don't Know How But They Found Me'

Can we  p l e a s e  talk about how this band deserves way more appreciation and recognition? If you’ve never heard their name before, now you have no excuse cause imma tell you all about them. By the time I’m done I’m sure you’ll adore them as much as I do.

So, a bit of context for starters: ‘I Don’t Know How But They Found Me’ is an American duo, composed by lead singer and bassist Dallon Weekes, and Ryan Seaman on the drums and backing vocals.

The main concept behind this project portrays IDKHBTFM as a “band out of time”, as explained on their website: “One who faded away into obscurity after struggling to find success in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Only recently, the internet has begun to uncover the performances and recordings of a band that the world wasn’t ready for. Perhaps the world is ready now…”

If you were to ask me to explain why I love them so much, there’s of course tons of reasons. They’re kind people. They’re exceptionally talented musicians, yet down-to-earth and humble individuals. They have the courage to pursue their dream, no matter how hard to achieve it may seem. They keep their live performances simple and focus on the music itself. The band’s way to present themselves in social media is pretty cryptic and mysterious, which in my opinion is really clever because it keeps everyone on their toes and paying attention. At least, I know I am.

Sadly, they have yet to release their first album, fact that has thousands of fans - myself included - waiting eager and impatiently. I don’t know what record labels are thinking that they haven’t offered them a deal yet but, c’mon people, wake up!

Anyways, to finish this post I’d like to list a few of my favourite songs on this band’s setlist.

Must include classic live performances opener and unreleased track ‘Nobody Likes The Opening Band’. Played with no background music other than Dallon’s snapping fingers, it serves the purpose of warming up the crowd to start the show. As it is inferred by the title, the song addresses the topic of being an opening band and playing to an audience that usually isn’t interested. Every lyric, despite its simplicity, it’s genius and honestly just so accurate. Things like the line ‘oh unfamiliar things will make us nervous, but singing here for you gives me a purpose’ sang with high pitched and flawless voice move me every time. Follower ‘so… take pity on the opening bands, cause no one came to see them, except their mom and dad’ always makes everyone laugh.

Next is a track that has blown up so quickly, as proven by its over 1.8 million views on YouTube. Choke is the second single that IDK has released, about 2 months ago. I think what captivates the listener is the contradiction between its sound and its lyrics. The first one is upbeat and happy, while the second one is just… creepy. To the point it has made fans wonder who is it about. Sadly Dallon hasn’t spilled the tea on this one, but of course the mystery just adds to it! ;)

An old Brobecks fans favourite that has made it into the setlist is ‘Visitation Of The Ghost’. Its best feature in my opinion is the instrumental part, the always-present drums and the simple bass chord just enhance the beauty of the lyrics and blend perfectly with Weekes’ voice. The way IDK perform it live makes it so special, as they invite a fan to the stage to play the bass while Dallon steps into the crowd to sing the ‘oh my lord’ part right next to them. An unmissable track for sure!

I’ll just be over here, looking forward to their album release and patiently awaiting for them to start touring and conquer the planet.

UUuuuuuu love my some snuggle bugs !!

Contrary to what Draco’s boyfriend went around telling people, Draco was absolutely not a cuddler. 

 He was a proudly snooty Pureblood Slytherin who occasionally liked to be held chastely in bed but that was simply because he got very cold sometimes and well, there was no use having a perennially warm boyfriend if you couldn’t demand that he hold you once in a while. It was just holding – it was not cuddling.

 Harry was such a fucking fibber, honestly.

 But it was hard to get too mad at him for it, Draco thought as he walked quietly into the bedroom and stopped short at the sight that met him; it was especially hard to get mad when Harry was curled up like this, fast asleep, glasses lopsided and cutting into one cheek.

 Draco watched him with a reluctant little smile as he slipped under the covers and settled carefully next to him, snaking an arm across him and pressing close. 

 “Long day?” he murmured, cupping one cheek as he pressed his mouth to the scarred forehead. Harry simply continued to snore softly, lips parted slightly, lashes fluttering against the lenses of his spectacles. Very gently, Draco drew them off and reached back to place them on his nightstand. “I can’t remember the last time you fell asleep before me,” he whispered, nuzzling into the thick black thatch of hair. “Forget sometimes how fucking precious you are like this. It’s hard to remember when you’re always being a prick to me. Or, you know…putting your prick in me–”

 He paused, stroking long fingers carefully though his hair, combing out the tangles with utmost care, snuggling in closer until he could feel the rise and fall of Harry’s chest against his own. Pressing his nose into Harry’s hair, Draco breathed in the scent of his citrusy shampoo and clean sweat, burrowing his face in as he wormed his arm under his head and cradled him closer, sighing.

 And then, “And I know what you’d have said had you been awake and no, this is not cuddling. This is—this is me, er, touching my boyfriend. In a non sexual way. Because I love his hair and his stupid face. Because he’s aggravatingly cute when he’s asleep and isn’t pissing me off–” Draco frowned. “And because I love him,” he finished lamely, his whispered rant making Harry’s hair flutter under his nose. Draco sighed again, running his fingers through the mess of black once more.

 Suddenly, “What else do you love about him?” Grainy and thick with sleep, Harry’s voice startled Draco into a soft yelp. 

 Scowling, Draco pulled back, lip curling at the lazy chuckle Harry gave him, green eyes blinking open blearily. “And just how long have you been awake?” Draco hissed. 

 Harry grinned. “A while. Oh, and just for the record,” Harry rasped, “that WAS cuddling. There is literally no other word for it. You cuddled me.” He grinned widely as Draco glared icily. “Put away the glare, snuggle bug. And come back here.” Harry dragged Draco to himself with an arm around the waist, trapping his legs with one of his own before he could kick around, smacking a loud, wet kiss onto his cheek. “And stop fucking pouting,” he said, nuzzling into the round shell of one small, white ear. “I won’t tell anyone that you cuddled me.”

 “I did not cuddle you,” Draco snapped through grit teeth, pushing further into the warmth of Harry’s body.

 “Yes, okay,” Harry deadpanned, rolling his eyes. “You ‘touched me in a non-sexual way’.”

 “Yes.”

 “Fine.”

 “And don’t call me snuggle bug, it’s absolutely disgusting.” 

 “Okay…snuggle bug.”

 “I will knee you in the bits and squish them.”

 “You’d miss my bits.” 

 “…I don’t understand how I’m in love with you.” Harry smiled, pressing a kiss to the frowning forehead.

“Just as long as you are, snuggle bug.”
