Only reason they are not happy with their dreams is because they don’t know what they want or didn’t like what their inner selves wanted.

it pisses me off that people think malleus is automatically an adult because he's a 3rd year. lilia literally said it himself: malleus isn't fully mature yet and is still mentally pretty young for a fae, so I would say he's actually around 17 or maybe even younger because Lilia said something about faes becoming grown by the age of 200. also, the whole point of malleus' story and overblot is because he didn't learn about having to be subject to change. "change" is rare for fae who lived in briar valley their whole life. he acted like a CHILD in his dorm vignette and in book 7. his overblot was a temper tantrum because he wasn't ready to have the only people in his life leave him. yes, he is mature a lot of the times, but there are times where he also isn't. this leads me to my point that he is a child who grew up insanely quickly (ofc there are factors that cause this, for example, his parents weren't present in his life). diasomnia feeds into his ego and his royal status. now here's the question: what would he do without his royal status saving the day? how do you think he feels when his ego and royal status can't save him from his situations? yes, anything that happens to him is automatically an international issue, and yes, he's one of the top 5 most powerful mages, but how would he act if none of that could save him? he didn't act very well when lilia was announcing his leave or MC announcing their leave, which a lot of the dialogue proves to me that he is a kid forced to grow up too fast.
