You asleep?” Jack

He hadn't been asleep long, maybe a little over an hour; he had been stressed lately, and wasn't sleeping very well. So, upon hearing Jack's question he didn't even bother opening his eyes. Couldn't he see he was trying to rest, what could the blonde possibly want now? Maybe it was something important? Deciding to give him the benefit of the doubt, with a slight sigh Oswald slowly opened his eyes. "What is it, Jack?"

"How many times do I have to tell you to be more careful? If I wasn't here you could've..." He didn't even want to think of what could've happened. He'd seen him fall out of trees before, and jack would usually just laugh it off, but falling out a window at a height like this was different; who knows what kind of injuries he could've gotten or if he would've even survived.

Tightly holding his hand in his, he let Jack lean against him. Noticing the other was shaking (he was honestly shaking bit himself) he decided to gently pat his shoulder. It was awkward, but it was the best he could do at trying to be comforting.

"Please...just be more careful..."

"Take my hand!" [Jack]

"Ah--" He did reach out and grab the other's hand just in time to avoid toppling right out the window. That surely would have been more painful than any tree he had ever fallen out of.

With Oswald's hand gripping tightly to his, Jack found himself stumbling toward him and leaning on his shoulder to catch his breath.

His limbs were shaking.

"S-Sorry, I...lost my footing."

"This is just a difficult time for me right now...I'll be fine though." He was on his way back from visiting Lacie’s grave, when he encountered the small black creature. Was it from the abyss? He didn't know, and honestly he didn't really care. This creature was kind enough to ask him if he was okay; no human had ever done that for him before. It was comforting in an odd sort of way.

“When you laugh like that, it just — you’re so beautiful, you know that?”

“No, sorry, you laughed. I … I never saw it before. It’s — pretty.”

“You haven’t laughed in a long time, and I guess I was staring ‘cause I forgot how that looked like.”

[Puts head on the other’s shoulder]

“I will never let you go.”

“You’re the best thing to have ever happened to me.”

“You wrote me a song?”

“You’ve got a fever. Of course I’m not going anywhere.”

[Suddenly feels around the bed to search for the other’s hand / body when they’re sleeping]

“I just feel calmer. When I’m with you.”

“You’re not in bed. I came looking for you.”

“What are you doing up? Come to bed.”

“It’s weird. I never thought I could feel like this, but you showed up. Now, it’s like I don’t wanna go on knowing I might lose the feeling.”

“I don’t mind sharing the blankets with you.”

“You’re cold. Come here.”

“You always do that. You always warm me up.”

“Stay.”

“It’s getting crowded. Here, hold my hand.”
