IT'S VERY IMPORTANT 🚨
Are you just tired of these kinds of posts coming from G@za strip that ask you not to skip and to read the whole post, interact with it, and help in sharing/ reblogging it? Well, maybe you are right, but guess what? We are also tired of living in this reality for a whole 11 months.💔
And you know what? You have no idea how mentally and emotionally trying this is. Asking for help isn't easy at all, but when I think that the price will be staying alive, getting our basic needs and rebuilding our lives, it pushes me more and more to do this until we reach our goal.
This is Ola, the older sister who is trying to help her family. For 11 months until now, we have been struggling to get proper food after prices increased by 15 to 20 times, struggling to have clean water for use and drinking and now we're out of them all. We are trying to survive under starvation, thirst, and poverty. So please, if you can give help to our campaign, don't hesitate.
Every simple thing makes a difference in changing the situation we are in. You can help us either by giving direct help to our campaign or simply by reblogging this post. This is separate from another post and involves books that might be more intense to read, in terms of subject matter and scope. Context: I'm a mixed Native history graduate student working on a Masters in United States History. These books are all, for the most part, books I've read during courses I've taken thus far (fall of 2024).

Forced Founders: Indians, Debtors, Slaves and the Making of the American Revolution in Virginia by Woody Holton
Surviving Genocide: Native Nations and the United States from the American Revolution to Bleeding Kansas by Jeffery Ostler
Caught in the Maelstrom: The Indian Nations in the Civil War, 1861-1865 by Clint Crowe
The Civil War and Reconstruction in Indian Territory by Bradley R. Clampitt
Unworthy Republic: The Dispossession of Native Americans and the Road to Indian Territory by Claudio Saunt
The Prairie Was on Fire: Eyewitness Accounts of the Civil War in the Indian Territory by Whit Edwards
Cherokee Nation V. Georgia by Victoria Sherrow (this book discusses the legal case of Cherokee Nation V. Georgia, a supreme court ruling addressing the issue of the sovereignty of the Cherokee Nation prior to The Removal, as well as legal arguments for why the Cherokees had no legal right to our ancestral lands, nor where we considered an autonomous nation. Rather, we were found to be a 'dependent nation' within US territory. This ruling was instrumental in paving the path to The Removal, or Trail of Tears.
