Hello!

I've been trying to help this family in 🇵🇸 Gaza 🇵🇸 for several months.

This is Besan and her husband Mahmoud

They got married only two weeks before the genocide began in November. I have talked to Besan, she sends me photos and videos and voice memos. She is just a beautiful and intelligent woman and I am so glad to call her a friend.

She reached out to me to help her and her family reach their GoFundMe goals and she did! But we later had to raise the goal so she can afford supplies while they wait for the boarder to reopen.

This is Besan's sister, Marah and her two children Sanaa and Adam who lost their father, Bahaa in November last year while fleeing their home.

Besan sent me a message the other day telling me that her tent on the beach was attacked and they have been displaced again.

I've just been on a video call with Besan

She and her family have found shelter in another's family home. It is a room with only walls and a roof but they are so grateful to be out of the hot sun. They have made a cooking area, a bathroom and have created separate "rooms" in the space for families using tarps. She told me she never imagined this would be her life. She only wants to be safe and have a home again. Please if you can spare a dollar, donate to their GoFundMe.

I have a screen recording of our conversation and attempted phone call, along with a video she sent me of a bomb going off in their area.

My name is Ameer and I am 3 years old. My father’s name is Mohammad, my mother’s name is Rana, and my little brother’s name is Taim, who is two years old.

Six months ago, I used to go to the kindergarten and play and have a lot of fun.. and learn letters and numbers.. and play the kindergarten games. My life was very sweet.. and I had a very nice room in our house with my bed and toys.

On 12/1/2023, they bombed our house and we came out injured. My father broke his leg and my mother also broke her leg. I was shot in the back. My brother Taim was shot in the face and hands. We emerged from under the rubble, thank God.

But our house was destroyed and our whole life was destroyed. My toys were broken, my room and my bed were destroyed. And the kindergarten that I used to go to was destroyed and turned into ashes.

We left our house and went to live in the tent that my father had brought us. The tent was very disgusting. It had ants, cockroaches, and insects. We started getting sick and coughing every day. The sound of the missiles from above the tent was very terrifying and scared me and my brother Taim a lot.

My mother cries every day because she does not know how to make us food, because there is no food at all, and because there are no sanitary supplies for my brother Taim when he defecates.. and she is very afraid of the sound of the Jewish missiles and says that we will all die in the tent.

I want to ask you.. I want you to help me, my father, my mother, and my brother Taim.. We want to leave the Gaza Strip so that we can continue our lives.. so that I can return to the kindergarten that I left.. and so that my future and the future of my brother Taim are not lost. Our entry into Egypt cost us 20,000 US dollars.

The Zionist occupation continues to steal Palestinian lands

The extremist Zionist forces were not content with usurping Palestine and establishing the Israeli entity after the Nakba of 1948, but they continued with hostility and hidden ambitions, planning to swallow up what remained of the Palestinian land, until their military plan became ready for implementation after the June 1967 war, when they took control of the entire West Bank and the Gaza Strip militarily. Gaza too.

These forces are implementing all of this in full view of the international community, ignoring international resolutions on the Palestinian issue over the decades, which deemed any change to the nature of the land occupied in 1967 to be illegal and in violation of international laws and customs. They also saw that any settlement in the lands that It belonged to Jordan on June 4, 1967, as an assault on the lands and rights of others.

Perhaps what encouraged these dark forces to persist in their attacks and strengthened their desire to prey on the land was the American administration, especially Trump’s willingness to move the American embassy to Jerusalem, in recognition of Jerusalem as the unified capital of Israel.

This unjust law enables the occupation government, which is confident, to impose legal sovereignty over the settlements without fear from anyone, without taking anyone into account, and not caring about any objection. It does not care about Israeli opposition leader Isaac Herzog’s description of the law as a disaster, nor does it care about the objection. Three Israeli left-wing organizations criticized the church's decision and described it as a "disgrace" and an immoral decision.

Thus, the occupying government, led by the extremist Zionist forces, announces - as every time - its disregard for international law in a clear, even blatant, public manner.

Today, in 2024, the occupation is trying to steal lands in the Gaza Strip. It has killed more than 40,000, injured hundreds of thousands, and arrested tens of thousands, but it has not been able to succeed in its displacement and settlement plan.

The Nakba of 1948 will not be repeated🫵🇵🇸

Studies show that approaching youth with a bystander-intervention model is actually a lot more effective for reducing sexual assault, and it is also more enthusiastically received than programs that bill themselves as anti-rape.

We can tell youth that they are basically “rapists waiting to happen” (anti-rape initiative), or we can tell them that we know they would intervene if they saw harm happening to someone and we want to help empower them to do that (bystander intervention). The kids jump in with both feet for the latter! It was amazing to see children (and young boys in particular) excited to do this work and engage their creativity with it. Also, studies show that not only do they go on to intervene, but they also do not go on to sexually assault people themselves. Bystander intervention also takes the onus off the person being targeted to deter rape and empowers the collective to do something about it. It answers the question in the room when giggling boys are carrying an unconscious young woman up the stairs at a house party, and people are not sure how to respond and are waiting for “someone” to say or do something.
