A moment of light during the siege

An illustration from May of 2022 that I'm still absolutely in love with. I really pushed myself with the perspective, texture, and colors and I really think I reached a new level for my illustrative work. I think since this illustration I've gotten better and gotten a better handle on my process, but there's something about the innate experimental freedom that comes with personal work that I think pushed this to new heights for me C:

Lore-wise this is a soft-canon scene where Paris discovers some elemental manipulation abilities. Ghosts and their powers are highly tied to their emotional states, so in a place of euphoria, they can sometimes tap into psychic powers beyond their usual scope. In Paris's case, he has (potentially) the ability to manipulate water. Usually a ghost's strongest powers are unlocked via terror, but I wanted something cozy here.

His water powers are highly likely to be removed from canon, though, as it kinda stretches his traits thin and I'd rather his abilities be more empathy and music-centric.
