A couple of platonic/romantic character prompts I thought of in the middle of the night. Tag me if you're gonna use em. I wanna see what you guys would come up with!!

Character A petting character B on the head, ruffling B's hair a little. Then B looks up A and sees that A has a soft look in their eye and a proud little smile."Good job" A says softly and B can't help but smile a little themself

Character A clicks their toungue softly as they thumb the tears off of B's cute little face. A takes a moment to adore the sight of B'leaning into A's touch as A cups B's face.

The sight makes A feel as if they could take on the whole world all by himself.

It's snowing. Character A, who was born and raised in a tropical country, is so exited to go out and play in the snow for the first time in their life. Character B, who never really liked the snow, decides to accompany A while they play around and take pictures.

'Hey,' B thinks, 'Maybe the snow Isn't as bad as i make it out to be'

Or alternatively:

It's snowing. Character B, who never really liked going out doors, decides they don't wamt to go out today because of the chill. So they prefer to sit down by the fireplace and sip on hot chocolate- maybe even read a book while at it. Character A, who originally wamted to go out and play in the smow, finds Character B relaxing by the fireplace and gets imvited by B to sit amd talk with them.

'Well,' A thinks, 'We could always go out and play some other day' while they listen to Caracter B's stories and adores rhe way the light from the cireplace dances on B's face.

Two friends wake up together in bed one morning after a night out drinking, both completely naked and with matching wedding rings on their ring fingers. Yeah they could have easily gotten a divorse for that accidental wedding they both have no memory of having, but what happens when they both drunkenly signed some kind of contract that only lets them divorse after 10 years after their marraige?

Character A is known as the strict principal of a prestigious private academy that ranks number one in the country. A is known to be the handsome genius who looks like a person who would only listen to classical music.

Character B is an alt burnt out gifted kid with more coca cola in their body than blood. B is known to be funny and really smart and looks like a person that Karens would call a 'satan worshipper'

One day B gets into trouble and is sent up to the principal's (A's) office. A finds out that B had a decent reason for what they did and the horrible house life B has. A says fuck it and takes the kid under their wing amd stands as the parental figure B needs.

You say you wanted Tendou requests so hear me out, big brother Tendou having to deal with his little sister (1 year difference) having a crush on one of his teammates or the other way around🥺🥺

» Always asking when you're gonna make a move on Shirabu, inviting you to his games even practices

» If you end up attending their matches, he'll try to find a way and leave you alone with Shirabu

» Either to help you or to laugh at your reaction

» Although, without knowing, Tendou helped you and Shirabu get closer

» At first you'd be the one starting conversations by apologizing for your brother's behavior

» Shirabu would always reassure you that you don't have to apologise for anything

» After a while you'd just casually talk

» Whether if it was in class, after a practice or a match

» Your brother's teasing wouldn't stop

» Except for the times you ask him to

» It seems like Tendou was very cool with you liking his teammate, you don't get to control your feelings after all

» But one time, Tendou wanted to have a serious talk with you about your crush

» "He's a good kid, I know, but if anything ever happens I want you to tell me right away okay?" "You know we're just friends right?" "YOU'RE NOT DATING YET?" "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YET?"

Hi I'm gonna go on a completely unsolicited and spontaneous rant:

Lolita IS a love story.

It IS. One hundred percent.

It is a love story, not between a man and a girl, but from a man, about a girl.

It is a love story, but it is not a healthy love story. It should not make you feel warm and fuzzy. It should make you realize that love can mean different things to different people, and sometimes those people have bad intentions.

The concept of love, through Lolita, is purposefully twisted by the author to make his reader feel a sense of unease-- just as Humbert twists Dolores's sense of dependency, desire, and reality.

For example, remember that there exists a range of both positive and negative coping mechanisms in life. Negative coping mechanisms are still coping mechanisms. They WORK, that's why people USE THEM, but they do not work in a POSITIVE OR HEALTHY way. Similarly, not all love stories have to be shining examples of humanity and health to still be considered love stories.

The message and impact of Lolita only work because the story is a love story. That's the whole point.

To say Lolita is not a love story is to disregard any and all subtextual and thematic intention by the author, and therefore whittle the book down to a grossly surface-level, performative understanding. Don't do that.

So for God's sake, don't romanticize Lolita. But acknowledge that it is a love story, and that it is a horrible love story, and that that's what it is meant to be.
