The people deciding whether or not to perform the brain surgery you need are still judging us by BMI. My friend has to drop another 80lbs before they'll work on her spine.

(Should have seen some of the faces in the operating room back in my 20s when they tried to lift me from one table to the other, and then had to ask me to move myself. I was in good shape, but still weighed over 220lbs even then. You can't truly judge muscle mass by gender.)

(When I woke up from that one, the device had been implanted in the wrong side from the planned route. I still wonder if they couldn't even roll me over? Seriously?)

I can't keep having the same conversations about love languages, mbti, iq, bmi, "brain fully formed at 25" and shit over and over again...

Hello, my name is Noha, a mother of 4 children in Gaza. We now live in inhumane conditions, lacking all the necessities of life. We have lost our home and our loved ones. We have been forced to move more than 9 times so far and we are now subject to an evacuation order. My children and I were forced to live in this. The infected place, in tents that do not protect us from anything, neither the cold of winter nor the heat of summer. We have been here for months, among the filth and sewage. My children are sick and suffer from wasting, hepatitis, and many other complications, skin and respiratory diseases. We cannot obtain food or medicine. There is no water for cleaning or bathing. There is no place to shower, we literally live in filth!! Diseases and epidemics, what is our fault in all of this? Do we have to face all this to survive death? To die slowly every day? From hunger, thirst, illness, fatigue, or even from depression and fear! My children long for their warm bed and our beautiful home, but now they have turned to ashes, missing their schools, their friends, and their most basic rights as children! They miss their forgotten childhood among tents and water lines, searching for food or killing harmful insects that attack them throughout the day

I created this link to try to survive and save my children from this nightmare, so that we can begin to recover and regain our dreams. Your help is our only hope!

Your little means a lot to us, don't hesitate! Your help could save the life of an entire family elsewhere

To die slowly every day. This is a phrase that resonates across the world, isn't it? For me, it is my body breaking down for no obvious reason, slowly crushing its own brain. For others, it is simpler, the list of diseases, lack of necessities, and violence against our own kind that you have listed here.

It is too bad that money isn't a universal sustenance that we can share equally across the world, it is unfortunately a mere token, and one country's money is merely a piece of paper or metal in another. Or in this day and age, a blip of data. I have traveled to other continents. Attempted to transfer the funds to sustain myself. Met other people struggling as I have struggled. Eaten the flesh of creatures that I shall never taste again, because they don't live on this side of the equator.

I'm sorry, but I have trouble imagining a world where you can obtain sustenance for your children off a website from people on the other side of the world. Not that it's completely impossible, but it would definitely require the participation of hundreds, if not thousands of individuals, buying food in one place and transporting it across the terrain, through combat zones, risking even more deaths.

I hope that your life has peaceful and comfortable times still to come. I hope that your memory is carried on throughout the ages.

a drawing of a person with dark blonde hair, headphones and a raincoat, who's holding a bag of red and yellow flowers. it's the first panel of a comic. in the background, some doves fly. the text reads "how lucky am I to be born human. With hands to create and a complex brain to think with"
we zoom in on the doves in the sky, who are flying high above a grassy park, in which a cat is laying on a dirt path. the text reads "how lucky am I to be born a dove. To be able to fly, and do so in a flock"
we zoom in on the cat laying on the path, which is white with red markings. next to it, a line of ants is walking with a great deal of food. the text reads "how lucky am I to be born a cat. to be able to catch mice and enjoy the sun whenever I please!"
we zoom in on the ants, who are walking towards some half-eaten fruit in the grass, next to a picnic basket. there's a greenfly sitting on the red apple on the left. the text reads "how lucky am I to be born an ant. To always walk with purpose and work as a team"
we zoom in on the greenfly on the apple. it has an explanation above its head. the text reads "how lucky... how lucky... hm... oh! I know! how lucky am I"
the text continues on the next and final panel, which is a stylised view of earth from space. to the top left is the sun and it is surrounded by stars. the final sentence, now complete, reads "how lucky am I to be born"

I don't think it should be weird, for me to put a fruit fly outside
