You’ve been warned before.

Never wander the woods alone after dark.

However, you’ve never been told why.

There’s an audible crunch with every step you take. The rustling of leaves crushed underfoot, the occasional snap of a twig, even the sound of your every breath was loud. Echoing through the expanse of the forest, melting into the darkness.

Every single sound you made was like a pin dropped in a completely empty room. A brief period of loudness, then nothing. You were surrounded by silence.

Silence so quiet that it was deafening.

Bracing yourself against a tree, you wince as its bark cuts into the flesh of your palm, carving out its ridges and groves into your very skin. You lean into the tree’s trunk, feeling your chest heave. Upwards, downwards. Exhaling a shaky breath, you stare into the distance.

Looking around at the gloom and doom of your surroundings. Caged in by the trees with garbled hands, towering over your feeble form. Darkness crept in whatever corners it could, blanketing you within its pitch-black embrace.

You’ve been lost for like, what, an hour? Wandering round and round, only to end up at the same tree again and again. You could have sworn the trees shifted around maliciously, trying to keep you trapped within their domain. Heaving a sigh, you push yourself back up onto your feet, reluctantly forcing yourself forward once more.

Only to see the briefest glimmer of light somewhere in between the trees. Flickering, ember flames waxing and waning right before your eyes. A fire. A torch.

People.

These thoughts rush through your mind immediately, garbled animalistic instincts craving salvation, begging for a place for you rest your weary bones. You make a beeline towards the light, breaking into a run towards the faint torch burning in the distance.

Only to come face to face with a grand old mansion. Crumbling apart, elaborate designs carved into its walls chipping and peeling apart, like something that’s rotten, abandoned for far too long. It stood tall within the woods, an imposing structure draped in shadow and dust.

Yet as dilapidated as the place was, there was light within. Peering through cracked windows, you could see somewhat of the interiors. Torches lined the walls, burning away with a certain ferocity. They must have just been lighted.

A crooked sign hung loosely from the top of the door, golden lettering faded from the ceaseless march of time. Squinting your eyes, you tried to make out the words.

“Hotel.”

The words in front of them had been torn out, deep gashes running through the sign itself. They looked as if a feral beast had gotten to it, ripping apart the sign with their claws.

Shivering uncontrollably, you stood at the door uncertainly, shifting your weight from one foot to another. Your hand grasping the doorknob cautiously, as gingerly as you could.

A suspicious hotel, or a night in the woods?

As odd as the hotel appeared, anything’s better than a night on cold, wet grass. Gritting your teeth, you twisted the knob. Pushing open the door slowly, taking your first step within the hotel…

And promptly getting a strong blow on the back of your head, knocking you unconscious.

You awake.

Your surroundings remain unfamiliar. Pushing yourself up slowly, you feel a dull throbbing sensation at the back of your head. As if someone… hit you there.

A creak echos through the room. A startling sound that has you jolting upwards, shoulders tensed. A door before you is opened slowly. Revealing a masked stranger who enters your room tentatively.

A feather cloak is draped over his shoulders. A bunch of keys jingle on his waist, screeching out with every step he takes. A queer sort of mask rests on his face, almost like a bird’s beak. He holds something within his hands.

A uniform.

“Ah, hello my Ḑ̶͇͚̤̣̤̪̠̯͎̹̪̍̀͛̋̄̂̊̍͠ȁ̵̧̙̯̺̮̌̑́̊̿̃͒͒͋̓̐̂̔͜͠r̴̢̛͉͓̠̜̫̱͔̭̺̭̦̬͓͆͗ļ̷̛͍̯͉̾̂͌̀̿̒̈́̚i̷̢̢̢͈̦̘͖͓͔̣̝̰̜̰̫̤̤̓͊̌̀́̀͐͊̽̿͋́̇̿̕͘n̵̡̢͙̣̪̼̻̉̽̎̋͋͗̂̌͌̿͋͠g̸̡͚͈̮̬̙̦̪̳̲̭̈́̉́̾͛̌̇̉̈͌̀͘̚͝͠͠l.

Welcome to UNholy Hotel, where those who lurk in the shadows gather. Flickering in and out of existence like a mirage, this hotel is only accessible to those who are… well, not fully mortal.

Only on the darkest night, where the moon hides its silvery glow, will the doors then open for guests to enter. Normally, the UNholy hotel remains invisible for the mortals of the world. Although occasionally, humans wander in by accident… yet that rarely happens.

You must be one unlucky fool, hm?

Have heart, for there’s little distinction between bravery and foolhardiness. If you manage to escape the hotel within the night, you leave alive. If you can’t… well, nobody really knows what happens.

By the light of daybreak, the UNholy Hotel will disappear, as if it never existed in the first place.

Wiping you from existence.

Please specify if you’ll like the scenario to be yandere, or a relatively normal encounter. This is a Horror AU after all, so expect some gore and inhuman elements.
