I Really Hope Youre Still Doing Prompts But If Not, I Completely Understand. Anyway, I Was Wondering

I really hope you’re still doing prompts but if not, I completely understand. Anyway, I was wondering if you could do a stevetony one where they’re having an argument and Steve goes too far and hurts Tony’s feelings?? Obviously they make up because they’re them but I love me some slight angst.

“I didn’t mean it,” Steve sighed, his gaze on Tony’s side profile as Tony stared straight out to the city in front of them.

“I know,” Tony said softly, but he made no movement to face Steve.

“I was mad. That’s not an excuse, but I swear I didn’t mean it.”

“I know,” Tony said again.

Steve paused, eyes flicking over what he could see of his partner’s face. It wasn’t like Tony to be so calm after an argument, especially not one where they’d shouted such cutting things at each other. There probably weren’t many people who didn’t know about Tony’s deep-rooted insecurities, so Steve was suspicious at the easy acceptance.

“Well,” he said, trailing off slightly as the wind dropped from his sails. He’d been expecting to have to fight again. Steve turned to look out at the skyline and leant forward to rest on the glass wall of the balcony. “Good.”

“Mhm.”

They fell silent. Cars rushed past way, way down on the street and low sounds of shouts and cries and laughter filtered up to their small bubble. A subtle breeze caught a strand or two of hair, making them flutter on Steve’s forehead.

“I love you.”

Steve didn’t startle at Tony’s soft, hushed words, though he did turn his head to look at his husband when Tony carried on talking.

“You hurt me. You have to make it up to me.”

“Anything.” Steve took a step towards Tony. “I’d do anything you asked.”

“A dinner date.”

That was unexpected. “Yes. Of course. Tonight,” he said. “I’ll take you tonight. Anywhere.”

“And I want you to hold my hand.” Tony’s voice was calm, steady. His gaze hadn’t moved from the skyline, even as Steve bore holes in the side of his head. “In front of whatever cameras are around.”

“Without hesitating.”

The corners of Tony’s mouth turned up ever so slightly and Steve felt as though he could finally breathe again.

“I’m going to order the most expensive thing on the menu.”

Steve chuckled and slid his hand over the railing until it was a hair’s width away from Tony’s. “I’d expect nothing less.”

There was a beat and then Tony’s pinky finger stretched and touched the side of Steve’s hand.

“Lobster. Champagne.”

“Oysters,” Steve continued, tone light but heart beating an insane beat in his chest, “steak.”

“And I’ll send it all back at least three times.”

Steve caught Tony’s finger in his palm, curling his own fingers around the digit. “I won’t stop you.”

“Good.”

They fell into another long silence. To Steve’s joy, Tony made no attempt to take his hand away. The sounds from the street below didn’t seem too invasive; more of a background hum. Still looking at Tony, Steve squeezed his hand.

“I love you,” he said. “I know you know and I know I didn’t act like it, but I do.”

Tony finally turned to face Steve. His smile wasn’t wide, but it did reach his eyes. “I know.”

“Good.” Steve took a step forward. “And I’m sorry.”

“Caviar,” Tony said in response, smile suddenly growing as he brushed his nose against Steve’s cheek. “Lots and lots of caviar.”
