Akari has Amnesia like Ingo. Unlike him, however, she does not get flashes of the life before Hisui. Instead, she gets vague feelings. For the most part, they're vague, almost kinda deja vu-like, or simply nostalgic. But other times... They are powerful. Especially with some of the people, she comes to meet.

When she first met Laventon, she can't help but wonder why he was making a Pokedex. Wasn't there already one created? It confused her at first but she let it go for now. After all, she can't quite remember where she knew that.

When she first met Rei, Akari had to hold herself back from crying for some odd reason. She gets an overwhelming feeling of longing and bitter sadness as if her very heart was being constricted with a hollow gap in it. It was a struggle trying to interact with him at first- she couldn't find herself to talk for a few minutes. But over time, they made a budding friendship and such emotions were forgotten- no, they were filled and healed but... There was underlying sadness to it still. She wonders why. Either way, she came to see him as a brother, and oh, what irony that is.

When she first met Cyllene... Akari freezes and she swore the world froze. Akari felt herself tremble, the feeling of fear rearing itself out of her soul and engulfing her being- Akari felt like fleeing then and there. But Professor Laventon was nearby and there were villagers too- if anything happens, at least there were witnesses- wait... Why does she see Captain Cyllene as a threat? She only just met her!

Sometimes, Akari thinks Cyllene may have seen how she was terrified of her. Maybe that's why the captain let her join. Who knows in the end. Akari learns that the woman was understanding and nice, if not stern, and does not project emotions easily. It's through her words one must look to. Akari likes Captain Cyllene and sometimes, the older woman would teach her a few things from to time. It was nice... Nostalgic, especially when she did her hair the first few times when she arrived.

Kamado... Akari got mixed emotions when she first met him. He seems very familiar to the point she wonders if they met before. However, any first impressions she got from him went down the drain after he flipped her into the wall... She immediately did not like him and it only kept going south after he piled work after work for her without little to no breaks in between. And his words-... Akari learned to fear Kamado out of everyone in Hisui, even the frenzied nobles don't compare...

And Volo... Akari, when she first meet him, thought he was a man she can trust. His smile and eyes and even hair seemed so familiar, almost giving her a headache trying to recall who he reminded her of only to find nothing. It was only after the battle and after reviewing his words and overall look did Akari decide to avoid him. She doesn't know why but the look in his eyes... He was hiding something. Add onto his plastered and certainly fake smile... She doesn't trust him and it only worsens when he pops up out of nowhere from time to time despite her trying her best to avoid him. Volo reminded her of someone, a man who sought power and change. It terrified her.

Whenever Akari sees Pokemon, a lot of facts and info, and knowledge seemingly pops up by itself. She hesitates to write them down at first, unsure where she knew them from, but she learned these facts were correct after observing the pokemon. To be on the cautionary side, however, she writes those on the side before testing them to be true thoroughly.

Akari can't get herself to look at the Chimchar line. One of the only few memories she can recall. She had an Infernape and he was her very first pokemon. Her starter.

It didn't feel right to have one on her main roster. It felt like she was replacing her dear Ares... She missed him so, so much.

Akari misses so many things and she can't even remember- it hurts. It became more painful as time went on and the less rest she got. Nearly became unbearable, all these emotions, to deal with when her hair began turning white.

It only settled down when Papa Ingo came into her life and adopted her. She wasn't alone anymore and now- now she's safe...

Ingo has flowy fire-like hair as a reference to Chandelure + modern goth rock fashion.

Went through you Submas Wanted AU for the past hour or so and am now verrry much hooked!

That said, I kinda imagine that while on the run from the researchers, Ingo gets hurt and is unconscious and before anyone can react, Akari is crying, trying to shake him awake, only to throw her mask off and glare at them with slighly glowing eyes (her eyes aren't as bright as Ingo's but her bond with the amount of ghost types she acquired in Hisui effected her a bit) and out of response to Akari's emotions and the dire situation at hand, Zorua evolves into a Zoroark with a loud howl, just as Akari coldly commands "Bitter Malice" towards the researchers. (All the researchers are frozen while their pokemon are equally fainted)

Pretty sure it might be ooc and won't fit the AU but like, my brain said: why not add a wee bit more angst? I couldn't myself...

My Daring anon, you are touched by Apollo because I already have something very similar planned!! Though the glowing eyes due to her ghostly companions is a genius touch I would be grateful to incorporate into the story.

Also?? I love angst, and this story will have its fair share of it. It’s just also going to have a healthy helping of humor and comfort as well.

Example: the angst of the situation the causes her Zorua’s dramatic evolution into a Zoroark! And then later, once Ingo and Akari are safe and on the mend, you’ll have her newly evolved pokemon awkwardly/adorably having to get use to her much longer limbs and bigger size. She wants to curl up in Akari’s lap but she’s too big so instead she pulls Akari into her own lap.
