"Oh, the fireworks started," you said with a tired voice but still sounded cheerful. "It's a shame I can't see it." a sad smile found its way on your face.

You always loved fireworks since you were a baby in diapers (at least that's what your mom told you) and that never changed. You had to look out of the window when you heard the sound of fireworks no matter where you were and sometimes you even went outside, if it was possible, to enjoy it more. Sadly, after your condition got to the point where you weren't able to get out of bed, not even sit on your own, fireworks were long forgotten.

"Cheol?" you said very confused what is your boyfriend doing.

But he didn't say anything.

"Cheol?" you tried once again but still no answer from him. Instead, he was done putting away your blanket that he put over his shoulder and was ready to take you in his arms. "Cheol, don't," you mumbled when you realized what he is doing.

It wasn't like you did not want to see the fireworks, quite the opposite, but you felt bad for Seungcheol that he needed to carry you. Even tho he is a very strong man and is always assuring you that it is not hard for him to carry you, you know it's still not that easy on him.

Seungcheol, of course, did not listen to you and carefully took you in his arms. While you were in his arms, he went into the small garden you had behind your house. He slowly put you on the grass and then put your head on his lap for you to be a little more comfortable and also to have a better view of the sky. After that, he placed the blanket over you again for you to stay warm.

Still, without a single word, Seungcheol took your hand that was under the blanket into his and slowly caressed it with his thumb. You smiled a little and started to look at the sky, just like Seungcheol, where it was lightening with so many beautiful colors and you forgot that life hasn't been easy on you. You just enjoyed the beautiful show with your amazing boyfriend.

Slowly, your eyes moved to look at your boyfriend instead of the show. You kept the big smile on your face, which grew even bigger after seeing him and you thought how grateful you were for a man like him, for a man like Seungcheol.

You came home a little later at night 'cause you had a day off from work today and so you decided to go out with your friend, who kept asking you to do something fun for a long time.

You took off your shoes and jacket and went straight to your room. You already ate so there was no need to prepare something for a late-night snack, which you were secretly happy about because you did not want to do anything now; just lay in bed.

After arriving in your room, you sat on your bed and took out your phone to check social media and other stuff before going to sleep. Of course, your plan wasn't going the way you wanted.

"Oh, God! Wonwoo!" you screamed into nowhere in particular. The book you were currently reading was suddenly dropped on the floor and that startled you. "We already talked about this," you mumbled and grabbed your book from the floor.

When you wanted to place the book in its place, you felt something cold on your wrist. No, not something, a hand. You immediately know, what Wonwoo wants. "You want to read?" you asked knowing there is not gonna be an answer. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes for a second. "Fine but not for too long. I am tired," you told him and opened the book on the marked page.

You felt cold right next to your right side and knew that the ghost who loves to read is prepared for some reading session. And yes, you're gonna read with him because this book is very interesting and even if you are tired, you still want to read it.

You both were reading carefully until you felt coldness around your wrist once again. "Oh, sorry." you went back to the previous page and waited. When the cold feeling was gone, you could freely turn to the next page and continue to read.

Sometimes you forget that the ghost named Wonwoo (which you found out by hard work with lots of guesses), who lives with you, can't read as fast as you do and he needs to remind you that he is not done with the page. But in the end, you still can make it work out because this ghost really loves to read.

"Chan?" you raised your eyebrows in surprise when you saw your best friend behind a door he was impatiently knocking on. Soon, your expression went from surprised to annoyed, slightly angry too. "You were drinking again?"

"Wonwoo came back!" he said cheerfully and a big smile was seen on his face after mentioning his hyung he hasn't seen for a while. "He took me out."

"Of course, he did." you let out a small sigh and fight with your inner self to roll your eyes at him. "But why did you come here, Chan? It's 2.15 in the morning." as soon as you told him the time (which was probably pointless), your mouth let out a big yawn.

"Oooh, cute~" he cooed at your tiredness.

"Chan!" you crossed your arms over your chest and shook your head a little. You were truly tired from work the previous day and also were not feeling really good, so this was something you didn't want to deal with. Not now at this hour.

"What? I'm... I'm not at home?" he suddenly asked very confused and you just had to close your eyes and take a deep breath. "I thought I was going home..."

After his last sentence, you gave him a small smile and took him inside, closing the door right after him. "You are home." you tried to tell him with a sweet hint in your voice and pushed all the negative energy aside.

You took Chan to your room, which was quite a journey but luckily, he did not fall down the stairs and you managed to catch him all the time. In your room, you didn't even bother to do anything else and then just put the drunk boy to bed and lay down next to him. "Stop drinking so much, will you?" you mumbled to yourself and stroked his hair with a small sad smile.

In the morning it will be very awkward but that was expected. You just couldn't let your bestie wander around the town with alcohol in his system; not when you have special feelings for said bestie.

"The usual?" asked the young bartender who has been serving you drinks every Saturday after your failed date.

It has been just the fifth time but it was enough for him to remember your order and enough for you to actually, and for good, stop using the dating app which promised to find your perfect match; just not for you...

"Yeah..." you exhaled somehow exhausted by everything and everyone. "Thanks." you gave him a very small smile when he placed your drink before you.

"No problem." he returned your smile in a much bigger size and continued to serve other customers that were sitting at the bar, which wasn't that many.

You were then just sitting on a stool and sipping on your cocktail while staring at the wall full of different types of alcohol right in front of you. It seemed like you had a lot on your mind but you actually weren't thinking about anything; just staring and silently hoping for some kind of miracle.

Sadly, no miracle came.

Not even after your third drink that you took your time with. You were playing more with the straw rather than drinking the alcoholic drink you liked (but it now looks like you don’t really like it). You took a deep breath and fish out your wallet from your small handbag, so you could pay for your drinks. You left the money on the bar counter and were on your way out.

"Wait!" you heard behind you. You weren't so sure it was meant for you but you still turned around and to your surprise, you saw the bartender. "I believe this is yours?" he put his hand with your handbag up for you to see.

You look at your hands and you only hold your wallet but not your handbag. "Oh, yeah, it is." you nodded and took it from him. "Thank you so much, I... I can't believe I left it there." you sighed and gave him a small smile.

"Hey, that's okay." he once again gave you a much bigger smile which had its charm, you had to admit. "See you next Saturday?" for some reason, he asked with hope in his voice.

You shook your head. "No, not anymore. I gave up on failed dates," you told him, and could see that his eyes became a little sad.

"That is... That's a shame," he told you and was ready to go back to his place to continue with his work. "But what if I promised you a not-failed date?"

"Huh?"

"I-I... Ehm... How should I?" he suddenly became so nervous that you had to bite your lip to not start laughing at how adorable he was. "Can I take you on a date?" he said so fast you almost did not understand what he was saying.

"I would love to," you answered with an honest smile that must have surprised him 'cause he was only staring at you now.

Before you could say anything, there was heard a loud 'Chan' and the boy suddenly had a panicked expression on his face. He really should get going back to work; you don’t want to be the reason he gets fired.

"I put my number in your handbag. Hope to hear from you soon," he said quickly and disappeared behind the bar.

Who knows? Maybe the sixth time won't be that bad and maybe, just maybe, it will bloom into something beautiful.

"Cheolie?"

That was all you had to say for your boyfriend, Seungcheol, to get up from the couch and come to you. He didn't have to search for you too long 'cause he found you standing on the stairs.

"Everything okay, sweetie?" he asked you while slowly walking up the stairs until he was in front of you. You only shook your head in an answer.

"Come here." with a small smile, he embraced you in his strong arms.

Immediately, you felt much better and inhaled deeply. After a few seconds, you finally wrapped your arms around him too, and got closer to him.

"Wanna talk about it?" he started to stroke your back and once in a while a small kiss was placed in your hair.

"Later," you mumbled and Seungcheol nodded his head, continuing to hug you.

Was it weird that you were standing in the middle of a stairs? Maybe. But it was just the two of you in your small space and Seungcheol's bear hug, that you needed the most right now - and Seungcheol was very happy to give them to you.
