Pictures of Nai and Mea (played by Chiaki Horan and Tomomi Kitagami) the adorable vampire goth girls from the 2005 Super Sentai show ‘Mahou Sentai Magiranger’ produced by Toei.

 In the series, Nai and Mea (their names are a pun when you combine them they form the phonetic pronunciation of the English word Nightmare because the word ‘and’ in Japanese is ‘to’ so Nai To Mea) are actually a single being that split into two.  When times are tough, they can merge to force Vancuria, the Phantom Spy and Mistress of Vampires from Infershia (basically Magiranger’s version of Hell).  

Being eternal and having no one to spend time with as the rest of the monsters in Infershia are either mindless zombies or annoying blowhards, Vancuria split herself into two different girls to always have someone to spend time with to ease her loneliness.  Nai is the more assertive and dominant of the pair with a much more serious attitude while Mea is more impish and mostly repeats the last word Nai says for emphasis.  They are the only two villains to survive the entire series and are somewhat redeemed in the end.

 One of the highlights of their run is a two parter (episodes 11 & 12) where they form a band called “Bloody Friday Nightmare” and use their music to entrance people before draining their blood and turning them into their army of vampire slaves.  Even MagiPink falls under their control and the MagiRangers have to stop the plot before Vancuria makes everyone under her power walk into the sunlight and burn.
