what makes Jun‘s redemption arc so well executed is how he is willing to reflect, talks about and confides his feelings to Tatsuya and thinks about how he could help and atone for having been Joker. It was written so well-rounded and genuine.

Me: I like that Haru and Futaba don’t forgive Akechi for his actions. It helps to solidify the fact that his past misdeeds have present consequences and that just because you sympathize with someone, that doesn’t mean you have to be friendly with them or actively make them apart of your life. Some things you break can never be truly mended and some bridges burned can never be rebuilt. I think all of the Phantom Thieves having their own mixed feelings and conflicting reactions towards Akechi after he comes back makes for interesting dynamics and storytelling potential. Him being instantly forgiven or befriended by everyone would be uninteresting and frankly boring, and characters like Haru and Futaba never forgiving him at all is perfectly valid.
