i love the comforting dadtcher and adam dynamic i see post catalyst but let's be real by the time the two got more comfortable with each other their everyday interactions would change drastically. they both are EXTREMELY fucked up but on different sides of the spectrum so you can only imagine how that ends up

like yeah thatcher is still his empathetic self and sees himself in adam but he's not above smacking the back adam's head when he acts up. he's not afraid to scold him when adam is being reckless. he's the quickest to shut down his attitude

and adam acts like a bratty troubled teenager around thatcher it's hysterical. once he's a bit over his breakdown over being an alternate he's back to being his snarky self. like yeah he's trying to redeem himself but he's still sort of an ass <3 (dw he's getting there) he still shoplifts and trespasses and gets both him and thatcher in trouble much to the other's dismay

and like. none of this would be a bad thing. if anything i think them being so infuriating to one another and being fine with it not just because the end justifies the means but because they bonded is great actually. they're so similar and yet clash so badly but that doesn't change the fact that as the world crumbles around them they can only rely on each other. found family NOT by choice but man are they glad they found each other as shit hits the fan nonetheless

I love how Alex experiments with characters.

He writes well rounded characters so well, and tmc really sigs into character motivations and fears.

It's just so interesting to see what makes the characters tick, and Alex writes it so so well. How they handle the absolutely horrific situations, how they interact with other characters while in basically emotional turmoil, how they try and reason with things, how they handle information, etc etc.

It's just so. Fucking. Good.

A bit out of context, but the main thing is that this is AU, where Cesar's alternate is not evil (and Mark is alive, too), which leads to complicated relationships with… "Gabriel" (aka Lucifer, for this universe)

upd: adding this note because it's important to clarify, and I don't know how soon I'll draw anything new — human-Cesar is also there! Furthermore, his presence is essential since au mostly focuses on his relationships with alt. "Cesar" (besides, he'll get his own name eventually).

So there are actually two Cesars in this drawing, not Cesar and Mark :')
