Orbot and Cubot noticed that their "baby" was very cowardly. They were thinking about what to call him, and Cubot suggested that Orbot give the name "baby" Cowardbot, to which Orbot agreed. Cowardbot "grew up" in a couple of hours. Orbot and Cubot were afraid that Eggman, Heartbot and all the others would find out about the existence of Cowardbot, and they decided to hide it in secret. Cowardbot, because he was also smart, accidentally found the octopus bot in the lair and decided to practice with it a little, but soon he accidentally got into the village and did not notice that he began to threaten the inhabitants. At this time, Sonic and his friends noticed this and thought that it was Eggman attacking them again and began to fight. Orbot and Cubot later noticed that their "son" had disappeared somewhere and started looking for him. When they noticed the octopus bot and immediately realized that it was Cowardbot. The robots asked Sonic and his friends to stop fighting, lying that the octopus bot was in trouble and they and their "son" went back to Eggman's lair. Later, Orbot and Cubot told Cowardbot that they needed to break up with him, but they would definitely remember him. Cowardbot left his "fathers", but it is not known where he went

I think that Steve's creator looked exactly like Steve, so I can assume that since Steve has an unknown true form, he is always in the form of his creator. This is my guess.

Like a theory: At the end of the episode "Eggman Family Vacation" we see that the whole Eggman Family has a pie with bolts, which was prepared by Mombot. In "Sonic Boom" it seems a little logic is broken: either the screenwriters have come up with something, or Orbot and Cubot from this cartoon have some kind of unusual anatomy that they can also eat organic food (except for marshmallows from one episode of the first season), or Mombot can cook food not only for organic creatures (as she cooked from the episode "Mombot"), but also for robots. But unfortunately it will remain a mystery.
