Living my silly little life
(I can barely keep up with a whole day of school, I cant do homework or studying, I can't do most of the stuff you need to do to stay on track in general, I also can't do anything outside of school on school days because I've basically collapsed by the time I'm home.)
What can PDA feel like?
“More often than not in a hypervigilant state…even though it doesn’t look like it.” (Forbes, 2022, 1:39-1:47).
“My brain tells me that I’m either being controlled or I’m in control.” (Forbes, 2020, 4:52-5:00).
“A shock or lightning bolt through his whole body. Sometimes a heat wave that goes from his head to toes. It makes his stomach hurt. It’s so all consuming it makes him feel like he needs to fight or run away to get space.” (Flanagan, 2023).
“My heart wants to do something but my brain says no, and no matter how hard I try my brain just won’t let me do it” (How PDA can feel, n.d.).
“PDA is like trying to face your phobias every waking moment! For me it’s like being in a malfunctioning robot. Every button I press has an opposite reaction to my intentions” (How PDA can feel, n.d.).
“The demands hit me…I can’t” (Burnett, 2022).
“The inherent bolt of anger that shoots through on the receiving end of the demand.” “This very quick sensation of rage or anger just shoot through my whole being, and the feeling behind it is like ‘how dare you?’” (Forbes, 2020, 8:14-8:27, 8:51-9:06).
“I can remember growing up and being told to clean my room or do the dishes and have such a intense and painful feeling crawl into my chest. It was much more than laziness or childhood angst. I would feel panic and the desire to hide or run” (Bailey, 2023).
