Americans Live In A Dictatorship. Control Just Gets Passed Around Every 4 Years. I Hate That I Have To
Americans live in a dictatorship. Control just gets passed around every 4 years. I hate that I have to wake up each morning, afraid to go to school, or afraid that my brother lost his job and now our family will no longer have a home. I hate the fact that I'm too afraid to tell anyone I'm sick, simply because of how ridiculously expensive it will be to care for me. I hate that I dread any major injuries I could get, not because they could seriously hurt, maim, disable, or kill me. I fear it because I know how much it costs. I'm afraid of anything and everything because I constantly worry that I may not be able to afford it, or that I could be shot by someone who's suffering a far worse situation than me with no other options. I'm afraid of what's going to happen to my Latino/Hispanic friends and neighbors if our retarded orangutan of a president is allowed to continue running around pissing and shitting all over innocent people's basic human rights. I'm so afraid of being American because I know this place is hell. I'm just so afraid.
I get the hate for the US and I 100% agree with it, but honestly, the complete lack of compassion non-Americans have for us is staggering.
We’re mocked for not having healthcare, for having mass shootings, for being stuck in poverty, for not having liveable wages, for literally every tragedy that hits us.
And the people mocking us don’t understand or just don’t care that these aren’t our choices. The majority of Americans are pro-gun control. The majority of Americans are pro-universal healthcare. The majority of Americans want a higher minimum wage.
But what we want doesn’t matter because our votes don’t matter. Our voting machines are rigged, we can’t take time off of work or school to vote, politicians use gerrymandering to twist things in their favor, minorities (particularly Black people) suddenly find themselves unregistered right before elections, certain groups (mainly Black men) are kept from voting by charging them with felonies, etc. Even our votes for president don’t matter because the popular vote is only symbolic; the real decision is made by the Electoral College, an organization that is purposely shrouded to prevent people from understanding what it is. We don’t even get to choose our Electoral College representatives and we sure as hell can’t control who they vote for, even if they go against the popular vote.
We have no real control over politics in this country and it is genuinely fucking terrifying.

Lux is about to fucking run in and kick the shit out of Ezreal. Like shut the fuck up douchebag! You've never even fucking spoken to her. And you certainly won't be now that she sees you for the scum sucker you are.
Lux just dusts off her hands and goes over to a crying Zoe, satisfied with a job well done. She crouches down before the tiny Aspect and starts wiping the tears away from her mismatched eyes. Zoe looks up and jerks her head away, not wanting Lux to tough her. Lux gives a sympathetic look and Zoe softens up, letting more years slip out. Lux opens her arms wide for a hug and Zoe dives in. The poor thing is bawling her eyes out and Lux is standing there, embracing this little girl that hates her so much, rubbing comforting circles on the small of her back and whispering words of encouragement.
Zoe's face, now sticky and red from tears, pulls away from a once pristine silver pauldron, sniffling still and rubbing away any more tears she has left. Lux releases the Aspect and Twilight, stands up, and offers her hand. Zoe, wiping away her last tear, looks up to Lux and smiles, taking her hand.
The two of them go to have a treat at Zoe's favorite Ice Cream place and meet up with Jinx (who may or may not be running from the cops for blowing up a building). Lux tells her girlfriend all about the shitty things Ez did and Jinx is fucking PISSED! She sips over to Zoe and says, "Hey kid. You ever blown up a HOUSE before!"
Lux drags her pyromaniac girlfriend out of the shop and Zoe laughs the whole time they walk together, Jinx apologizing profusely for the destruction she caused that day and Lux being very disappointed with her crazy, beautiful wife.

HE DIDN’T EVEN GIVE HER A CHANCE
