Hurricane Eta hit Honduras and Nicaragua hard. Its impact left a lot of people homeless, out in the cold, sick, and all in the middle of a global pandemic. People lost their lives, others lost family members, their homes, all of their belongings. My heart hurts thinking about families with children living out in the cold in this weather, because they have nowhere else to go.
One of you contacted me with a link to this GoFundMe meant for the still suffering victims. As the Zagreb Earthquake a few months ago left a lot of people without homes during the cold season, I know the importance of getting them the funds and help they need. Please share and help in any other way possible that you can, even reblogs can help to raise awareness, exposure can lead to donations and the more people talk about the situation, the chances to get the victims the needed help grows. My country (Perú) is in danger, our democracy is in grave danger, our last president was ousted for allegations of corruption and while we agree that he should be investigated, we were against the vacancy.
The congress is hiding behind our constitution to make it seem that what they did was legal. They ousted the president for ‘moral incapacity’, the problem is that nothing was proved so it shouldn’t be possible, not only that, but last month they tried to do the same.
Before they voted for the vacancy, there were only 60 congressmen in favor but suddenly there were 105 who voted on favor, now they’re starting to talk, there were deals made and also threats against some of them, telling them that there wouldn’t be votes in favor their projects if they didn’t vote like them.
Our new “president”, who from now on I will call the usurper, was also the president of the congress who tried before to get the armed forces on his side, doesn’t have studies, and has open processes against him. He was not chosen by us to lead the country, only 5,000 people voted for him on the congress elections, the peruvian population is of 30 millions
Not only that, but 68 out of 130 congressmen have open processes that go from money laundering to straight up murder. The new president of the congress has 52 criminal charges.
This exactly is why the congress ousted our last president, he was doing reforms to the congress so there wouldn’t be impunity, he also called for elections on April.
We’re only 5 months away from the elections.
The congress talks that they did what they did because it was their moral obligation. We know this isn’t true, they did it because the president was against their populist laws that in the end would only damage the population and now that he’s out, they can do it freely.
In the 3 days since they ousted our president, they already are trying to modify the university education reform and the SUNEDU an institution that makes sure that our education is of quality and has been closing universities that didn’t make the cut, most of them were just taking money from their students or were just money laundering, two of this “universities” are owned by two congressmen.
Other thing that one party wants to do is to free their leader Antauro Humala from prison. This man was the brother of a former president who didn’t pardon him in his term and has tried to get free for years now, but our justice system and our national assembly has not let him. Why is he dangerous? Well he’s been sentences for insurrection, homicide, aggravated kidnapping, and other including a case called ‘Andahuaylazo’ where 4 policemen were killed. And since his party voted for the ousting, they are going to ask the usurper for a pardon.
The usurper has now elected his cabinet, the premier is a man who has called our people vicuñas and llamas, has said that femicides shouldn’t be apart from a homicide because it usually happens when they are trying to mug them or it’s their fault for cheating, he also has conflict of interests. He was a minister before, but he had to step down because of a conflict he was involve in enden up with the death of 24 indigenous people.
This brings us to yesterday 12/11/2020 (11/12/2020 for you USA). MILLIONS of peruvians took the streets in different parts of the country and in other countries too, we did this since day 1 but the one from yesterday was massive.
It was a pacific protest, we were chanting and protesting against the usurper and the congress, nobody was violent until the police started attacking us.
There are more photos and videos but some of them are too strong, the police not only repressed us, they attacked journalists and paramedics, they didn’t let the firemen help our the wounded
There were undercover cops trying to stir the protestors but got mad when we realized who they were so they shot us.

And now the minister of the interios, who leads our police, is saying that there were not undercover cops, that they didn’t attack us, that they didn’t use tear gas against us and our media is talking about the damage we’ve done to our city WHILE THERE’S A GUY IN COMA BECAUSE THE POLICE SHOT HIM IN THE ABDOMEN TWO OR THREE TIMES, THEY SHOY PEOPLE POINT BLACK, WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHERE SOME PEOPLE IS, THEY DISAPPEARED.

What’s Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS), and why do so many autistic people have it?
I learned about this the other day, when I posted about palinopsia (visual trailing/afterimages) being common in autistic people, and a couple of our followers told me about their VSS. I did some more research, and discovered that I also have it.
Visual Snow Syndrome is a neurological condition that interferes with visual processing. It’s caused by hyperactivity and hyper-excitability of nerves in certain areas of the brain that process visual information.
The core feature of VSS is constantly seeing tiny, fuzzy “feedback” in the environment. It’s kind of like seeing the world through a staticky TV screen. Some people’s visual static is larger than others. Mine is relatively fine-grained, but it gets bigger and more obvious in low lighting.
Some of the other symptoms of VSS include:
Palinopsia (visual trailing/afterimages)
Photophobia (sensitivity to light)
Increased and enhanced ectopic phenomenon, such as floaters, phosphenes, and Scheerer’s phenomenon
Seeing glare, starbursts, and halos around lights
Difficulty seeing at night/in the dark
Seeing random flashes of light and/or color, without cause from the environment
It’s common for people with VSS to experience comorbid migraines, but VSS is not the same thing as migraine aura.
So, why do autistic people often have VSS?
It comes down to the fact that VSS is caused by the hyper-excitability of neurons in areas of the brain that process visual information. A core feature of autism is hyper-excitable neurons, especially in areas of the brain that have to do with sensory processing. So it makes sense that autism would often inadvertently cause VSS.

i havent been wanting to make a big post about it, but downplaying my situation and needs isn’t going to get me the help i need.
so a few months ago i finally got a car of my own and broke news to my cishet (highly) abusive ex that i would be leaving. needless to say since i’m still here, i’m in quite a dangerous living situation, more so than before that is.
me finally not hiding my gender anymore and going ahead with hrt has been a cause of anger and violence from him, since he’s very transphobic. i’ve been doing all i can to keep him in check and calm, especially since we have two kids i’m trying to get out with me.
he’s disgusting, lazy, makes me (his ex, with high chronic pain) do everything for him around the house, and the longer i’m stuck here the more my savings have been depleting. it’s been hard to maintain life, let alone save up to start a new one.
i’m trying to get in with the local housing authority but that’s taking longer than i’d hoped. i want to seek a more proactive option, but until i can actually afford to pursue it, there’s little i can do.
tensions are getting worse and building now that he knows i’m seeing someone else. a dear long time friend of mine that he’s hated for years. so now his homophobia is coming front and center as well.
i am not safe.

Hello everyone. Its been a tough month for all of us, as you all know I've been raising funds here for my brother's medical needs for food and for my family to have a safer house to live. Unfortunately, my brother died last Nov 10. Even though we are still grieving, I need to move on for my mother and 8 children (my nieces and nephews who are orphans) Im sincerely asking your generousity again to continue supporting and helping my family to finish our house. I already used all the funds i gathered here for my brother's medical needs and funeral. Disabled, not working due to covid, need help
hey so its yah boi. I’m deep into my overdraft since uni and its not gotten any better since I haven’t been able to work longer than 2 months at a time since June 2019. I’ve been coasting so far, but now I need to pay overdraft fees because my graduate account (with no overdraft fees) has been changed to a current account.
I want some help getting out of my overdraft. At the moment I get enough for food, rent, bills and thats about it. I’ve been doing commissions as well as looking for work and picking up shifts at a covid testing centre for extra cash, but it never goes far. I’m constantly looking for full time work, but because of my disability I’m severely limited on what I can do, (need to be able to sit down and not be in a call centre).
My overdraft is limited to -£2000 at the moment, and I’m constantly at the limit.
I can transfer a little bit from my rent to get me out of my unarranged overdraft, but its the rest I need help with. Any reblogs/shares help!! I hate asking for help but I’m getting kind of desperate, and I’m sick of living on the edge constantly.
