So, in the panel where Touya hugs Shouto in an attempt to burn him alive, I noticed something about the dialogue.

Everyone's attention is on Gigantomachia (fair enough) and Bakugou's hero name, which, no offense but it's irrelevant right now considering the gravity of the situation. And yes I understand it's an attempt to break the tension and a long awaited disclosure.

But the point is, Touya/Dabi has noticed that the heroes seem to be having a moment of lightheartedness. And he points that out to Shouto. The boy is literally in a life or death situation and everyone just seems to be ignoring the child literally burning a few feet away from them.

And isn't this just a parallel for what happened to the whole Todoroki family? Society was caught up in the fun and glamour of hero society while the Todoroki family was in agony. The family suffered, practically in front of hero society and no one noticed. Just like Shouto is suffering right in front of everyone and no one seems to notice.

The fact that no hero tried to save Shouto must just reinforce everything Touya believes.

No one notices except Midoriya. The boy can't even stand but he still saves his friend. Which is another reason why this boy will be the greatest hero. And why no one should be calling him an abuse apologist. He's one of the only people who reached out to Todoroki, to Eri, to abused and hurting children in general. He is a hero. He is not. And. Will never be. An abuse apologist.

He will be the #1 hero and he will deserve every bit of it.

Also, someone nice, please hug Shouto. The poor boy is hurting so much.

Behind the Scenes: Accidents

I still love them, this is the au that won in my heart for more headcanons. :D

-Yes, there have, unfortunately, been accidents on set. Most of the actors insist on doing their own stunts (except for maybe Izuku sometimes, who would like to LIVE thank you very much), so there have been a few…mishaps.

-Kiri’s makeup and costume effects for his hardening Quirk causes about five small injuries on a daily basis. He pokes himself in the eye, he pokes other people in the eye, he shook hands meeting someone and gave them a cut, he is so freaking forgetful about the spikes. One time, Denki yelled “GREAT JOB KIRI!” after a successful take and Kiri tackled him in a hug while all hardened and shit. Denki shrieked, he was so scared and it gave him some nasty bruises.

-They told Denki there was no way in hell they were going to produce actual lightning for his Quirk. Needless to say, he was disappointed, but no one was electrocuted on set.

-Katsuki was so happy when they told him he could perform his own stunts if he wanted to. His favorite is when he makes himself fly with his explosions; they rig him up to ropes and other assorted equipment and he LOVES IT SO MUCH. One time though, he did drop down harder than he intended and gave himself a (very mild) concussion. He also nearly gave Shouto a concussion, because that was who he landed on.

-Shouto took one look at the fireproof suit and just walked away. They had to run after him and assure him that he would be ok, a lot would be special effects, and no they would not let Denki handle a flamethrower.

-There was no way to transform skinny Toshinori, so he does have a stunt double for when he goes all All Might. He does however, enjoy spitting fake blood out when he is out of character and scaring the shit out of people.

-Izuku very nearly gave Shinsou a concussion too. They fought on mats for their match in the sports festival. Shinsou insisted that he was ok with it, and Izuku insisted that yes, he could flip Shinsou over his shoulder, they were gonna do it. Well Shinsou actaully couldn’t get up after Izuku did that the first time and Izuku himself started yelling because he threw his shoulder out of place.

-Izuku actually did break his fucking finger. Shinsou (goddammit Shinsou) punches him in the “broken” hand during their match and he did it too hard once and Izuku’s finger cracked. It wasn’t a bad break, but for a second after it happened, everyone was very confused as to why he’d decided to go off-script and yell “OH MY–FUCK, FUCK, SHIT, CRAP, OW, FUCK.”

-During the Deku vs. Kacchan scene, when Izuku punches upward instead of hitting Katsuki, he aimed badly. It was bad because Katsuki almost lost a tooth. It was hilarious because Izuku just fucking punched Katsuki in the face and Katsuki pretty much stayed in character, what with all the swearing that poured out of him afterward.

-Denki: “When Ochako makes the rocks fall on Katsuki, can we just all throw rocks at him?”

Director: “I… no.”

Katsuki: “Why the hell would you want to do that?”

Denki: “Could be fun.”

Izuku: “You tried to blow me up.”

Shouto: “I’m bored.”

Aizawa: “You don’t shut up.”

Katsuki: “OKAY DAMN, DOES EVERYONE HERE WANT TO FUCKING STONE ME TO DEATH??”

Bakugou: You’re so short Birdbrain, what can you see down there?

Tokoyami: Everyone’s IQ.
