Chapter One February 20th, 2015 New York City, New York

(Y/N)’s Friday started out like any other work day at the New York Public Library; she clocked in at exactly eight o’clock and immediately began shelving, occasionally stopping to help patrons locate books or answer any questions they may have. Her absolute favorite thing to do, however, was to recommend books, especially to children. It made her feel warm inside knowing that the books and plays she loved to read were being passed on to a younger generation. Unfortunately, not many children came in on Fridays, so she was usually stuck shelving returned books by herself in silence the entire day.

Word Count: so dad has put the entire family on juice therapy because I tested positive. It is both a surreal experience to feel your body just wash away the bloating/heaviness/cold/sore throat and a hell because you cannot eat anything else. I have been mentally making a list of all that I want to eat day after tomorrow.

The summer palace rests in the bosom of the mountains right next to the violet lake, which gets its name from the warm healer’s rocks resting on its bed. The air is quiet and at peace. The night birds stir in the blanket of darkness and the light of the nearest moons while the servants and healers go about the palace doing their usual duties. The balcony overlooking the lake has been set up for a small gathering. Tables have been set for tea and cakes and curtains have been drawn around the sitting for privacy. A lone figure is looking out at the night sky when a healer makes her presence known on the balcony. “My queen, the tea is ready. Healers are waiting for your further instructions and the healing pods have been sanitised for use.” Frigga turns to the healer and nods in confirmation. “Good. Tell the servants to prepare a meal and keep the mead at ready.” The healer bows and hesitates to walk away. “Pardon me, my Queen, but are we expecting a patient or a guest?” Frigga looks back towards the night sky meeting the lake. “That is a good question, my dear.” And she sees a streak of golden-green light emerge out of nowhere in the middle of space right on top of the lake. “Send the guards to the lake! Now!” she commands in urgency, her gaze stuck on that shooting star-like streak as it is slowly going down, never stopping. .
