Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

Allison Hargreeves and the Effects of Grief

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

At this point, I think most people know that I’m an avid Allison supporter. It’s one of the things I’m most known for. And after witnessing these vile reactions from the fandom thanks to her actions in S3, I figured I’d try to pick apart her arc as best as I can.

So, where’s Allison at the start of this season?

Well, for starters, she’s just spent the last two years in the segregated south during the 60’s. But let’s rewind: what got her there in the first place? Technically, it was thanks to her brother. She had to pay the price for his mistakes. While trying to help him, she lost her voice and was launched back to decades in the past just when she was starting to build a life for herself amidst her divorce and custody battle. She thinks she’s all alone, so she does all she can: she builds yet another life for herself. And for the first time in her life, everything she has, she’s earned. Including the love of her husband and a great community that has her back.

Not that it lasts long because then she’s faced with an impossible choice: either leave this life behind (which includes the love of her life), or go back to her actual timeline in the hopes of MAYBE getting her daughter back.

She knows the risks, she knows that she might be going back for nothing, but she still makes the choice. She leaves everything she spent two years building, she leaves the man she loves, all because of a “maybe”. She goes back because she hopes with her entire being that all of this hasn’t been for nothing, and that’s her entire motivation to keep going.

Turns out, she was right to be doubtful. She does end up going back for nothing. That “maybe” turns into a “will never be”. Her daughter doesn’t exist, she never did. And what do her siblings do? They brush it off like it’s nothing. Luther at this point has been kidnapped by the Sparrows and is focused on getting closer to Sloane; Diego is preoccupied with Stan and Lila; Klaus and Five are off on a road trip and then embark on different journeys…so that just leaves Viktor. Really, he was the only one who initially seemed concerned over Allison. When he saw that the rest were just going about their days as if nothing had happened, he reminded them that Allison was upstairs grieving her daughter.

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief
Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

To all those who say that Allison was a terrible mother and that maybe it’s better if Claire doesn’t exist…how does it feel to miss the point of Allison’s entire character? Yes, she lost custody of Claire because she was an unfit mother, but from the moment she was forced to separate from her child, all she’s been trying to do is to be a better person. It took losing Claire for her to realize how much she loved her. She tried so hard to be a good person for the person in this world that she loves the most, and that still wasn’t enough. She meets a man who she really, truly loves in a way that I don’t think she ever loved Patrick. A man who loves her just as much, who accepts every part of her and whose devotion to her is never-ending. So, she leaves him. Because leaving her husband means that she gets to get her daughter back, and at the end of the day, Claire’s always been her number one priority.

We see Allison’s trauma as early as Ep.2. While she and Viktor are waiting for Marcus in that cafe, Allison starts experiencing a PTSD attack. Like she tells Diego, the others don’t understand what it was like for her as a Black woman in the 60’s. She woke each morning knowing that it could be her last, because she knew the cost of speaking out. After having everything handed to her on a silver-platter for so long, she was suddenly thrown into a time that denied people who looked like her basic human decency, a time where most of them could end up dead or in prison just for wanting to be treated as equals.

She reaches this point where she’s even attempting to rumor HERSELF. She looks in the mirror and tries to do the same thing she spent years doing to other people, but it doesn’t work. My theory is that she stopped it before the rumor could affect her in fear of losing control over who she is. At the end of the day, even if the rumor had worked, she’d still be grieving. Because how sustainable really are they? How long do they last? Who’s to say that it wouldn’t be worse after the rumor wore off?

Despite what S2 seemed adamant on denying by having Allison sweep the whole situation under the rug, we see that she’s still suffering the consequences of Viktor’s actions as well. I think the only mention of it that we got in S2 was when she mentioned to Klaus that she couldn’t speak for a year. But in reality, she would have nightmares about the whole incident, and it’s clear that it was such a common occurrence that Ray would immediately rush to reassure her that she still has her voice.

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

Ray was her shining beacon of hope during such a dark time. His optimism even when faced with so much oppression showed her that she was capable of so much more than she ever imagined.

There seemed to be this focus on having the characters emphasize on how Allison has always been among the best of them. They say that she’s the calm and cool one, the nice one, the one who never jumps into situations without thinking, because that’s the box they’ve stuck her in. But the truth is that she BECAME a better person after realizing her wrongdoings. She made the CHOICE to be kind, because once upon a time she was nowhere near as good of a person as the woman we meet at the start of the show.

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

You see, from the moment we meet Allison, we learn that she’s spent the last eight months or so trying to atone for her actions. Prior to her divorce and losing custody of her daughter, she would use her power to get everything she wanted. Love, stardom, a well-behaved child, etc. She always took the easy route because who wouldn’t? Who wouldn’t take the easy way out if they had the power to manipulate reality to their will with a single sentence?

Really, I think she only changed because she got caught in the act by her ex-husband. That put everything into perspective for her and she realized that she couldn’t carry on like that if she ever wanted to be the mother Claire deserves. Everything got so out of hand that, in the end, she ended up realizing that nothing in her life was real, none of it truly felt earned.

In S1, when Viktor states that the reason he was isolated from the rest as a child was because Reginald forced him, Allison responds by telling him that he can’t blame his problems on anyone but himself now that he’s an adult. Allison had never blamed anyone else for everything that’s happened to her. Even when Viktor slit her throat and nearly killed her, she still said that it was her fault, almost saying that she was basically asking for it. Like she tells Viktor, she’s always the one that has to meet him halfway.

But see, here’s the thing about Allison: she doesn’t like losing. She doesn’t like not feeling in control. She prefers taking things too far than not far enough. Even in the 60’s, she still had the civil rights movement. She had something to fight for and Ray was always there to urge her on and remind her why this cause is worth fighting for.

Now, this brings me to the most controversial part of her character, and the reason she’s at the top of nearly everyone’s hit list: the part where she rumors Luther into wanting her. I think we can all agree that this was an uncomfortable scene to watch. At one point, Luther asks her if she would even be there if Ray and Claire were still around, Allison never denies that she wouldn’t. She just tells Luther “but they aren’t here, are they?” When asked about this scene, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Tom Hopper described this scene as Allison wanting to cling onto the last bit of control she has left. No matter what, Luther has always been one of the biggest constants in her life. They’ve always shared this mutual understanding and connection that they just never had with any of the others, and something that she’s always been able to count on is Luther’s love and acceptance. So, when Luther tells her that he’s going to meet with Sloane, she sees it as a betrayal. She sees it as just another thing that’s being taken away from her and that she can’t do anything about it…except, yeah. She has the power to do just that. It’s not really what she wants, she regrets it almost immediately, but again, she’s desperate to find comfort wherever she can, and she’s not used to being told “no”.

During their conversation, Allison tells Lila that nothing stays. She tells her that none of it is real. At least with Ray, she has their wedding ring, but with Claire? She doesn’t even have a picture of her. And the original timeline feels so far away at that point. It’s been YEARS since she last saw her daughter, so who’s to say that she ever existed at all? She tells “Ray” during that scene on the swings that she feels like she’s losing her mind. She even asks him “were you ever real?”. She tells Diego that she’s never felt so hopeless in her life, because no matter what, she’s always had something to cling to. A reason to go on. But what does she have now? How can she fight for someone who’s already dead and another person who never existed?

So throughout the season, she slowly regresses into the person she used to be before Patrick caught her in the act. She makes bad decisions, she’s selfish, it’s clear that she has consent issues and she ends up turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Whenever we see her in S3, it’s either with a drink in hand or with a cigarette. Klaus says in S2 that Allison deals with her issues by lying to herself. Like Viktor, she’s almost a ticking time bomb in this sense. Allison tells Diego in Ep.4 that she doesn’t know where to put any of her anger, so she decides to take a physical approach. She finds people she can hurt without feeling guilty because they’re the same people who’ve hurt her. From white supremacists to the man who’s responsible for the death of their mothers.

Then the focus shifts. She finds a new reason to be angry at Viktor. He lied to her about the man who, in her mind, is responsible for her daughter never existing in that timeline. And that drags up a few old wounds that never got the chance to fully heal. Their argument starts off with Allison telling off Viktor for lying about Harlan to her face, but it quickly escalates.

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

When Allison says that her siblings are always so quick to tell her to suck up her pain and yet so worried about fixing Viktor’s…she’s right. When it came to Allison losing her daughter, they all turned a blind eye for the most part, but then, when it came to Viktor’s transition, they were rushing to make him feel like part of the family. When it comes to Viktor destroying the world, they’re all rushing to “fix” him and absolving him of any blame because “they all played a part”. It’s been like that for a long time and a lot of them have almost reached a point where they treat him as if he isn’t a grown adult who doesn’t need to be coddled. So Viktor can tell Allison that she ruined his life by rumoring him into thinking he was ordinary (as a FOUR year old, might I add), but Allison can’t tell Viktor that he’s taken everything for her time and time again? She can’t tell him that a part of her wishes they’d left him behind? I’m not comparing their situations here, this isn’t a competition. They both have a right to be angry.

She knows her pain doesn’t give her the permission to hurt others, she acknowledges that they’ve all had to mourn people and that she isn’t the only one who’s lost it all, but that’s just how grief works. Allison tried to be a good person. She tried to make amends and to forgive and forget but, like she says herself, look at where that got her. I think she saw Viktor’s lie as another betrayal, the same way she interpreted Luther choosing to be with Sloane (someone he met a few days ago) instead of her.

Something that I think is interesting about Allison is her pointing out on numerous occasions how unfair certain things are.

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

This is just one example. But in S2, when Luther tells her that they’re not meant to live normal lives, Allison has the same response. Even after all the hardships she’s faced, we have to remember that she spent her entire life up until losing custody of Claire getting everything she ever wanted. She never even had to worry about these minor inconveniences that plague us daily but now…everything is ending and she can’t do anything about it.

And then, Reginald offers her a deal. A way out. A full-proof solution to all her problems. And so, she gets her focus point back. She’s finally feeling hopeful again. She decides that she HAS to do something, she has to at least TRY to get her family back, because otherwise, all of it will just slip into nothingness. It’ll all be for nothing and who’s to say that it was ever real at all? Allison doesn’t know what she’ll do if all those memories they shared are insignificant, if she doesn’t find a place to put all this love she has for two people who no longer exist.

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

So, she accepts the deal. Again, who wouldn’t?

Now, the way this was framed was different from Five’s deal with the Handler in S2, but the situations do hold a lot of similarities. They both feel like, by that point, they have nowhere else to turn. They’d already tried everything else. Still, the narrative treats Five’s actions as this decision that he’s making for the greater good of his family. Him killing the board is just a means to an end, and it’s clear that he doesn’t enjoy it but he’d do anything for his siblings. Meanwhile, they frame Allison’s decision as being with malicious and selfish intentions. As if she had a hand in what happened to Luther and Klaus just because she’s been “unraveling ever since she got to the timeline”. Which, again, is a massive disservice to her character. Like she tells Viktor, the deal she made with Reginald was meant to have their siblings’ protection in mind.

Really, I think her arc would have benefited from the deal being shown from her point of view. We know that Reginald manipulated her just like the Handler manipulated Five, but, again, the way it’s portrayed makes it seem like Allison was involved in making these decisions.

Even so, you can clearly understand where she’s coming from. To me, Allison had the most realistic reaction to finding out that the world is ending. While most of the others are content with living the rest of the time they have together to the fullest, Allison just can’t bring herself to. Even when they think that they’ve found a solution to containing the Kugelblitz, Allison’s not celebrating. How can she? Sure, the world is saved, but she’s still alone.

Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief
Allison Hargreeves And The Effects Of Grief

Even at her worst, Allison still has so much kindness and humanity left in her. When Luther gets killed and Sloane is mourning him, Allison never invalidates her feelings. She never accuses her of grieving someone she’s only known for a few days. When Reginald tells the rest to step on the sigils and Allison sees that she’s draining the life out of them, she immediately tells him that this wasn’t part of the plan. If Allison truly didn’t care about her siblings, she would have let Reginald carry on with his plan. This was the only way to get her husband and daughter back. But still, she stops him.

The season ends with her back in her LA home. She not only gets her daughter back, but she gets her husband back as well. She achieved everything she’d been fighting for throughout the whole season. She finally gets her happy ending…or does she?

Now, Allison has to grapple with all the decisions she made to get to this point. She has to come to terms with the person she is now, and she has to figure out how to move forward from there. She has to see if this is truly everything she wanted and decide what to do next.

All in all, Allison is a deeply fascinating character. To me, she’s the single most interesting character on the show. And I’m so ready to see what direction the writers take her in during S4. Her grief made her into this version of herself that she always wanted to steer away from. It’s ugly and horrible but there’s something so human about it. Everything about Allison feels so real and I love her.

TUA FIC IDEA (2)

Writing this here before I forget.

Really wanting some dark klaus and five fics and ended up dreaming of an AU where Five, working for commission and having a undercover mission to protect a major drug/crime lord somewhere in the early 2010s. The man is meant to play a major role in the timeline, and despite the abhorrent crimes he commits, he must stay alive.

Of these crimes involves sex trafficking/pimping out addicts from the streets.

Five believing this mission would be a quick, easy task. Routine. He's seen and protected horrible people, and he's also killed innocent people. All for the timeline. All to get back home and back to the family.

Unfortunately, while working undercover, he comes across some of the victims. Amongst them was a boy, young - maybe early 20s, he assumes. His skinny lanky frame making him seem small and fragile despite his tall frame. It takes a minute, maybe more, to see the the familiar green eyes, mop of curls that he remembers could never be tamed and the flash of his wrist exposing a tattoo identical to his own.

For a second, Five feels his breath stop along with his heart stop. His eyes wide, and normally quick mind screeching to a halt.

It couldn't be - it - the Handler wouldn't send him somewhere...but oh, she would. She would, and he knows this is some sort of cruel test. Because right there, crouched in the corner, with glazed, red rimmed eyes and marked, bruised skin is his brother.

Klaus.

Fuck.

AU where Five has to make a hard desicion

Spoiler stuff if i ever write this. None of this is edited, im genuinely just dumping ideas on my phone and storing it somewhere I do not forget

Some notes to remember (spoilers??? If i ever write this out)

youngKlaus (early 20s?)

Older Five, fic maybe in all or mostly thru his POV

Five must work undercover to protect the crime lord, acting as a right hand man for the man and needing to uncover who may kill the drug lord. Truly heinous shit involving drugs and sex trafficking.

Five has learnt to compartmentalize, keeping his emotions down despite the cruelty shown before him. Really dark stuff involving the events he witnesses.

Deciding where he wants to find Klaus as theres a bunch of options tho leaning towards being shown thru photos or thru a showcase where he's being sold.

Five knows that this is the Handler's sadistic way of testing his loyalty. He knows it.

He knows he shouldn't meddle. He needs to keep away.

But 45+ years of without his siblings has made the yearning strong. The need to protect. He knows Klaus will be there at the end for whe Five will return. He knows from burying an older version under hot rubble and dirt.

He knows.

But at what cost.

Against better judgement, he ends up talking to him, singling him out while undercover. His yearning to protect becomes stronger, and he knows this is dangerous, that he needs to focus only on the mission, to protect a man he so desperately wants to kill.

He needs to focus.

But he also needs to save his brother.

More stuff i think id want to add:

Five first thinking that Klaus is hallucinating but ends up discovering Ben

Klaus not recognizing Five at first due to the latter being 45+ years old (klaus later making a quip about Five needing a better skin care regime - and yes klaus is still a shit despite everything). Its only until much later that Klaus sees signs and Ben finding out and reporting back to Klaus - this makes things worse for Five when Klaus begs him to help him

Five having to witness the shit being done knowing that his younger brother has gone thru and will go thru the same unless he intervenes. But he cannot without getting on the Commissions radar

Vanyas book not yet written - in the original timeline, klaus escapes a year or so later as he dies (tho unaware) from an overdose and is body discarded as he was presumed dead. The book comes out after. Five doesn't mention the book.

ETA: may write a scene in a sequel of Klaus finding the book in Five's things - and despite the messy equations and writing littering the pages and the general state of the book, goes down a spiral. Five having to comfort Klaus, but unsure how as the book was (is) important for figuring out how the stop the apocolypse, his loyalty to Vanya but also because the book is biased and unfair towards klaus and the other siblings

Scene where Klaus ends up getting killed early due to being assumed as a spy. Lots of guilt and angst as Five blames himself

Spoilers for the end

Five ends up killing the drug lord. Finds Klaus alive - discovering immortality

Commission not happy - more trouble

Five can no longer bear to leave his brother - too much has happened and every part of Five yearns to protect his brother from the world.

Handler intervenes and, despite her taunts and cruelty, tells Five that the Commission will allow Klaus to come back to work alongside Five due to the unforeseen potential in his immortality

Five knows, though he doesnt say, that the Commission now has found a tangible weakness that could be use to manipulate Five. Despite this, he turns to Klaus and grips his hand, unwilling to let go.

Klaus agrees, albeit because he knows he has little choice.

Potential promise from the Commission for help with Klaus' powers

Maybe a prequel cuz i would love to write some bits of missions the two must go on and potentially apocolypse week

Older brother five and younger brother klaus- Would be funny to see, i think, this dynamic when they return back to the timeline with now five physically younger. May make klaus his age that his body was last in or also have the equations mess up and he is also little

Maybe its own one shot fic, maybe in the apocolypse fic -

After the death of the crime lord, many of the victims are set free with the police alerted. The undercover fbi/police that were taking the drug lord down (that Five was meant to protect him from) take down part of the ring and discover the major drug shipment. Along with this, the pictures of the victims that were used to sell them were uncovered through files/dark web

Diego, working on the force at the time, training under a detective to help uncover allies and connection to the ring and locate missing victims and/or where the bodies are being dumped, though the detective notes that most of these victims are addicts and/or prostitutes, easy victims who won't be missed

Diego looking through the files of the victims, locations and of the identified bodies. It's where he discovers pictures of Klaus (similar pictures to the one Five has seen in the first part). He is amongst the unidentified victims.

Cue angst. Klaus has been under the ring for over a year and has left with Five only weeks ago. Diego searching for his brother, only to come up short. Klaus is presumed dead or taken somewhere else. Diego is unsure which is worse

His vigilantism gets worse - he attempts to contact the others but it doesnt work.

At this point, Vanya publishes her book the following year. This leads to Diego to further spiral, dropping out of the police Academy

TUA FIC IDEA (4)

This has perhaps been done a few times but I was having fun with it in my head so might as well note what I thought down

Post S1 AU

Klaus wakes up to find himself back in his 13 year old body. While sure, they all managed to escape the apolcolypse alive for another do over, it kinda sucks when Klaus is the only one who remembers.

Sucks more when the Commission is still after his family.

Klaus was never one for responsibility.

Klaus gasps awake, eyes wide and frantic to the sight a familiar cieling. Where?

What?

The last thing he remembers is everyone at the Icarus theatre, the fucking moon hurtling towards them and pale, bright blue light surrounding all of his siblings - all of them, hand in hand.

He frowns, his hands feel empty.

Klaus feels his heart stutter, once, twice, before finally calming down to sit up and -

He's in his room.

Or what looks like to be his room.

It's smaller - the size it was before Vanya left and he broke the wall down to make room. Knick knacks that usually cluttered his space were not as plenty - his closet, still opened, pnly revealed identical uniforms spilling out.

Small, children sized uniforms.

Fuck.

It worked?

Immedietly he jumps out of bed, glancing down to pat his body - his old pint sized body in shock.

Holy shit, Five did it?

They made it back in time?

Klaus lets out a surprised giggle, not completely sure whether he should be happy or freaking out.

He glanced down at his palms and pursed his lips at the missing tattoos.

A shame.

___

Lots of sibling bonding cuz I live for it

Sibbie bonding moments:

Klaus only one who remembers

Commissions goes after Klaus, baiting him to join them or else they'll take Five and kills the rest of his family to only leave poor, volatile Vanya to end the world

Made worse because Five hasn't exactly told Klaus who the Handler was in the original timeline ("Goddammit Five," Klaus hisses. "The next time I see that shitheel we need to talk about a little thing called communication. Fuck!")

Made ironic is Klaus decides not to say anything to the siblings - he does try at first but is made to be maling up stories. In the end, he decides to do things on his own ("Who the fuck left me in charge?!" Klaus whines to himself, flopping backwards onto his bed. "Definitely wasn't Five. Fucker wouldn't tell me shit the last time." He lets out a huff, and stares up at his ceiling. "It was probably you, wasnt it?! Telling me it wasn't my time? Or is it just 'cuz you hate me - which, rude. What did I ever to you, huh? It's your fault you created me, not mine!)

Klaus and Five already have mutual companionship so Klaus tries to help convince Five to practice time travel with him (aka trying to prevent Five from running away that day.)

Eventually they come to an agreement to train in secret - Klaus believing that they need to work on physics (Klaus cringing, he never thought he'd be the one to convince Five, of all people, to study math. Five is just as skeptical that Klaus is the one advocating for this, which, fair. He's in disbelief as well. Hopefully this isnt a sign that the world is ending - again. He snickers.)

Quiet training together, as Klaus also attempts to practice his own powers as well. As Klaus is the most sober he's ever been, he attempts to summon Dave.

Five working through equations with Klaus, and them coming to the same conclusion that Five in season 2 - to work in seconds rather than years thing. Klaus is nervous that it'll fuck something up, but it's the only thing to appease the ever curious ans srubborn Five. It somehow ends up working

"Okay, so let's -"

"It worked," Five says suddenly, voice almost a whisper. He sounds completely in shock.

Klaus frowns. "What did?" He asks, but Five is staring down at his hands in wonder. Klaus takes a step forward.

"Five, buddy, you're kinda making me worrie-" but he was cut off by Five jerking his head up, smile wider than Klaus could ever remember. Happy, excited, proud - it makes Klaus take a second to stare. He doesn't remember Five looking so happy. Before he has another second, thin arms wrap around him - and just, what. Five has never been one for physical affection, even as a child. But just as the arms came, they went - Five probably thinking the same thing, judging by how fast he pulled away, face red in embarrassment. Klaus huffs out a laugh. "Care to explain, Five-O?"

Five looks away. Clearing his throat as he straightens his back. "I traveled. Back in time. Two minutes ago. Or...what was two-minutes ago. It, uh, worked essentially."

A beat before Klaus smiles, heart swelling with pride before deciding, fuck it and jumping to hug Five on his own. His brother hisses, trying to protest and pull away, but Klaus only wraps his arms tighter. "This is definitely hug worthy," he laughs. "A celebration!"

Klaus begins to check up on Vanya, seeing how she is. At first she is suspicious, resentful and Klaus could swear he can see the hidden white light underneath her dark eyes. He sighs, and instead asks if he could listen to her play. Opens up about the ghosts- it takes time to explain, the drugs and what not- especially to a sheltered 13 year old. But despite the anger Vanya has built up over the years in his original timeline, theres still time know. Time to fix and undo all the hurt. She agrees and starts to understand, espcially when Klaus hints at how the pills help Vanya stay "less anxious" (he cringes at it, but he will get Vanya away from those pills, he has a plan that he hopes will help).

At times she begins to get jealous of Klaus and Five hanging out more together - Klaus brings her to their training sessions. At first she is hesitant - ordinary Vanya for training on powers that she doesn't have?

Klaus brings Allison out to training one day, despite her annoyance. She didn't need any extra training, but Klaus and her have been closer when they were children and she was curious as to what both her and Five have been sneaking off to. During one of these sessions, he challenges Allison to undo any potential rumours on the three of them (Allison is offended at first but Klaus convinces her that they need to be on a blank slate, no after effects of any old rumours Father made her use while training or on accident). Rumour on Vanya is now broken (also some extra ones they didn't even realize they had - Klaus tries not to be bitter). Vanya doesn't realize this until much later

Klaus hasn't been on any of the hard drugs, only alcohol and weed - but the mind does not forget. He asks Allison to rumour him into staying sober - it has the desirable effects but also, his sanity feels at its limits due to the constant ghosts surrounding him (HE'S UNDER A LOT OF STRESS). He uses his time with Five to train his abilities as well

Takes Vanya to Griddys with Five and Ben (her closest friends) and talks about the pills. She has a self confidence ever since the rumours were removed and they give her the confidence to ween herself off as Klaus notes that drugs affect powers (Vanya doesnt feel ordinary anymore, so believes theres potential of her having powers). Klaus promises to stay the same (despite him already vowing to stay sober and thanks to Allison's rumour - but he doesnt say that. Content with Vanya trying to ween off the pills)

Klaus keeps watch, training Vanya with the others start. Klaus hinting at her powers and they start to show and hiding it from dad (maybe she remembers what happened after some things come to light)

Vanya coming to terms with their gender identity - opens up and asks to go by Viktor. (All pronouns from here on out will switch to he/him)

Klaus comic book powers start to come to light - getting stronger! Also able to banish ghosts - still not a lot but enough so

Ben and him bonding over powers, but Klaus struggles around Ben. Ben eventually confronting him about it as it did put a strain in their relationship. They talk about life, Klaus eluding to feeling alone and unwanted - Ben vowing that he's here for Klaus, through thick and thin. (A part of his heart breaks while another fills - its a conflicting feeling that Klaus does not yet understand. He can only smile, feeling the tears suddenly streaming down his cheeks. Ben, to his credit, doesn't comment, instead keeping his hand - warm, strong, secure - over Klaus's own. I know, he wants to say despite the lump in his throat preventing him from even taking a single breath. I know.)

BEN: Klaus sees Ben and remembers all the years they spent together in the original timeline. It hits him that Ben no longer has any memories together. If Klaus were to really reflect on it, it's probably a lot better for Ben that he does not remember, but somewhere in Klaus's heart he yearns for the brother that stuck with him for almost two decades. He has to move on (didnt he lose too much already?).

Vows to save Ben and let him live- not wanting his brother to confine to him anymore, even if it hurts. He grieves for a brother that once was. They all try to help Ben control the Horror in his stomach during training. *At some point during that mission, Klaus sacrifices himself to the horror due to his immortality. His body is obliterated - trauma for ben who wakes up covered in Klaus's blood. His body at this point needs to be re healed (takes time)

LUTHER: Time with Luther is a little awkward as the two of them have never been close in childhood and even less so as adults. Some part of Klaus feels like he has to save Luther too but he just does not know where to start, especially with the how the others are beginning to look at Klaus as a leader. Lots of fights - but Klaus remembers the Luther of his own timeline, isolated, manipulated and hurt. He keeps trying.

ALLISON: Allison and him were pretty close as kids often bonding over more feminine things that the others were not interested in. Trust is pretty simple to build there. One of these moments is where Klaus asks about the rumour soberity rumour

DIEGO: Diego and him were often the rebellious of the seven children. Their friendship as children was made stronger over their mutual hate for their father. There's a weird rift between the two now that Klaus has assumed a more leader position (despite the fact that Klaus did not want this position in the 1st place). At some point Diego calls him out for trying to be the new number one and "Daddy's bitch boy". Klaus decides that it is high time that he continues someone's rebellious streaks with Diego because because he may be a 30 year old man in a 13 year old body, but it does not mean that he does not know how to have fun.

Scene where Klaus finds out that, due to time travel and timelines, Klaus has not yet met Dave in Vietnam. He looks at the picture in a textbook (similar to the one in the Vet Bar, and sees that he is no longer in the picture). Klaus becomes depressed for a bit - sibbies are concerned. They try to cheer him up (they are closer now!)

Klaus stuff:

Still going thru special training

It was the night after a special training that Klaus begs Allison to please rumour his powers away. He did not need them - and at some point, he is tempted to take Viktor's medication (perhaps he does at one point to see if it could just his own off)

Despite his siblings now closer and bonding, Klaus feels completely alone. He's here, but he's completely disconnected and holding himself by the seems. He has to get this right because, otherwise, what does he have left?

Immortality shit comes in - meets God and has some words

Wonders how tf he got stuck on his own - wonders where the rest of his siblings are. Wonders if it's better that they are healing now, younger and more carefree compared to the ones he came to know years into the future. Is it bad to wish for the ones he once knew? Ones that he barely even spoke to, if only to have someone around to understand what is happening - what is going on? It is during these times he yearns for his brother, hating himself for preferring the dead sibling who has been there and understood him for so long over the very much alive, happier brother who barely knows a single thing about him. Honestly, he's so fucking selfish.

Commission stuff

Around where Klaus starts to make changes the commission tries to intervene with a mission to eliminate Klaus Hargreeves

Harder for the Commission to intervene when they are under the watchful eye of Sir Reginald Hargreeves. There's another shoot out attempt at the mansion - but Ben uses the Horror in the end to kill them all. The others think it's just someone targetting the academy itself, but Klaus recognizes the masks similar to his previous kidnappers. The Commission.

Initially tries to see if his father could help, but is proven fruitless

During a time out, perhaps with Ben and Diego, the Commission attacks them near an alley way. Both Diego and Ben fight back, Klaus who is not as skilled (thanks to not having years of combat training) (or have """useful""" powers in a fight) tries to fight back. One assasin manages to reach Klaus and effectively shooting him in the heart and head - instant kill

Cue diego and Ben screaming, the Commission leaving and believing their job is done - but not before Ben wipes them all out in rage, Diego trying to calm Ben down when the Horror gets too much while also trying to get to Klaus (who's dead , dead , dead)

Interlude - some divine revelation

Klaus waking up to the commotion and helping calm Ben down, who, along with Diego is shocked

The siblings learn about Klaus's immortality (reggie maybe finds out from Luther later). The Commission also finds out - this causes uproar at HQ. How do you eliminate something you cannot kill??

Determined that Ben would need to be eliminated as he is a major threat and was what forced the others to drift in the original timeline

Klaus, maybe at this point being able to have some control of the ghosts, catch wind about Ben being followed. Klaus sticks beside Ben, (Klaus kaughs at the irony of now him hovering over his once deceased brother, trying to keep him safe and alive. Oh how the tables have turned.) - may remove this though. Lots of fighting commission

The Handler comes to see Klaus but Klaus has never seen her before, The lady in red heels talks to him in the most condescending yet chirpy manner that leaves him feeling unsettled. She threatens to take Five away, condemning his brother to the same fate as before if Klaus were to not comply ("Your family for the sake of the timeline, Klaus," she says, smoke swirling from her lips. "You decide.")

"You're brother is a natural born killer," she sneers, her smile tight lipped and shark like. "All he needs is someone to just point him in the right direction." - Klaus get furious here, remembering all the times his Five was anything but.

Klaus going missing thanks to the Commission kidnapping him - manages to escape after a week. Siblings demanding to know what the fuck is happening with him

Klaus comes clean - siblings are in shock but also determined to help (perhaps this is like - a year or two after the time jump, ill figure out a timeline later). Lots of talk about Klaus intentions (Viktor asking if Klaus only befriended him because of the timeline - but Klaus promises him that he did it for them)

Ending????? Subject to change

All sibbies gearing up for the next time the Commission comes after them. All of them bonded and shit - they end up fighting with the Commission taking Klaus and putting him at HQ to be quarantined

Sibbies end up finding their way there where the Handler talks to Five like she knows him. Revealing to him what he once was, a killer and shit. She also shit talks all the other siblings - perhaps showing them glimpses of what once was. ("A shame," she laughs. Her hands are clutching Fives jaw and despite the fear he feels, he cannot shake her away. "I much prefer you when you were nothing but my murder puppet.") - potentially here is where their past consciousness start to trickle in (smthin about temporal anomolies idk)

They all fight, using their powers and what not, to escape and grab Klaus to head back. But they get ambushed - the handler back, Klaus in her grip. All the siblings are shot, sans Five, with a screaming drugged Klaus in her grip. She taunts at Klaus and Five, calling the former a useless junkie who could not save his family just like his brother. Five is injured and weak - same scene as s2 but links back to the scene with klaus where he goes back in time in minutes. Everyone is revived, they kill the Handler and Five just looks at Klaus, says something witty but a call back to that scene

He nods and they both pass tf out with their family surrounding them

Epilogue likely

Thanks to the Commission, the memories of the past merges together? Potentially

Either way, reggie is gone thanks to either Allison rumouring him away or "sudden death". Living at the Academy with their inheritance, happy ending woo!
