Lesser-known steps of the writing process:
Finding all the paragraphs where you used some hyper-specific word more than once
Rearranging paragraphs that you swear you wrote in the right order but turned out to be totally backwards
Going for a walk, coming up with the perfect line, and forgetting it as soon as you get home and open your laptop
Creating a separate document where you can dump all of those nice sentences that no longer fit in anywhere
Waking up in a cold sweat because so-and-so was supposed to be barefoot but never actually took his shoes off
Yes. Yeeessss.
*excited feet tapping intensifies*
WSBE 7.
Tomorrow.
It's happening.
OMG This is the best installment yet
Go read that RIGHT NAUGHHH!
Lucifer realizes that Alastor is sharing his dreams (or is he sharing Alastor's?), forcing the two men to work together to try and outsmart the hotel.
The radios are quiet until they aren't.
Everything is going fine until it isn't.
Is the hotel threatening them? Is the hotel capable of hurting them?
Bonded by blood and joined in dreams, Lucifer and Alastor must fight back against their own depression and insanity... or be dragged under and drowned as the hotel watches.
WSBE 7 is complete! 9,000 words. I am insane.
I am going to lay on the floor for the weekend. Then it's time to dig into WSBE 8.
Seven down, two to go!
Good to know my brain worms are scheduled for the next five plus years
Thank you so much! ❤
I think sometimes you just gotta embrace the jank 😂 Maybe Alastor would have aprooved specifically because of the jankyness, who knows?
A good number of these songs are going on my playlist! How delightful!
One thing is for sure: dancing will happen but only if just the cats bear witness to it, lol.
As someone who enjoys almost all forms of music, I can tell you that there is no such thing as genre confusion. Believe me when I say this but people who walk by the window when I happen to blast one of my playlists will think there is an absolutely deranged person living there 😂 I will have songs by Whitney Houston right next to songs by Sabaton and I feel zero shame about that.
Another ask game? Don't mind if I do! :3 6, 7 and 9 please! :D
6:A song that makes you want to dance 7:A song to drive to 9:A song that makes you happy
Henchy, always a pleasure!
(Questions from a music ask, come ask me things!)
6. A song that makes you want to dance
Lmao I am NOT a dancer, hoo boy no. The most I do is like wavey goth dancing. But I will say, alone in my room, I am definitely voguing like my life depends on it.
Also, to psyche myself up for my work day (and if I am alone) I hardcore dance in the elevator up to my office. So, ya know, I hope the security people are amused by that...
Lately the morning dance song has been a mix of pop music, which is funny because I don't even LIKE pop music, normally. But Kesha's "Joyride" is a bop, that "Espresso" song is fun as well, and I have definitely done Chappell Roan's silly "Hot To Go" dance in that poor fucking elevator, ahahaha...
7. A song to drive to
I haven't ever gotten a speeding ticket (*knocks on wood*) but I'm convinced when I do it will be because I'm listening to punk music. There's a Canadian punk band called PUP that has a song called "Reservoir" that has inspired me to do DARING things on a highway before, let me tell you. I have broken laws to this song. (Fun fact, I fainted in a mosh pit to that song and broke my glasses!)
I also think ultra speedy metal inspired synthwave will do it too. "Turbo Killer" by Carpenter Brut would make even the oldest granny fucking do 100 on the turnpike.
I'm actually a very timid driver, so music helps me a lot behind the wheel.
9. A song that makes you happy
God this is so hard, all music makes me happy.
I'll shout out this band because they're not well known, but "Valley People" by the band Battle Tapes is one of my all time favorite songs and it cheers me up every time. It's so goddamn SLEEK.
Ghost's latest song "The Future Is A Foreign Land" is also making me so happy because I haven't yet wrung out every single atom of serotonin from it yet. "Mary Is On A Cross" is also exceptional. Ghost is one of my favorites bands, they're right behind the Decemeberists in the amount of times I've seen them live. I think I've seen Ghost seven times now?
Also, the Cure. Just, like, all of the Cure. God, what a BAND. OH MY GOD FUN FACT ABOUT YOURS TRULY, I had a show on my college's absolutely shitty radio station when I was an undergrad! I had the last broadcasting spot at night because I was a night owl. I played so much goth and alternative music. I always played the Cure and when I did I always said the only goth thing about them was Robert Smith's hair because they are so CHEERFUL. I love that about them so much. I mean, "Lovecats"? A perfect song. It makes me so utterly, inexpressibly happy every time.
How the FUCK am I in a fandom that involves a radio host and until this moment I had completely memory holed the one year I spent playing shitty goth bands at 1am on the radio???
