There wouldn't be posters with "BEWARE THE RADIO DEMON" if people knew who the Radio Demon actually is. Puttin a face to the name or title is quite literally impossible when the man himself is so unambiguous most of the time.

Quite literally: He lives "this face was made for Radio."

this is just a personal hc, but i actually think that alastor is the only overlord in pride who has a themed epithet. remember that he didn't give himself the title "radio demon", it was given to him by sinners because he was anonymous, because he didn't build his notoriety with his face or name. all of the other overlords are public figures whose reputations are attached to their actual names—reporters call vox "mister vox" to his face, and in the pilot katie and tom refer to sir pentious and cherri bomb explicitly. the only other classes of people who get titles are the morningstar family, the goetia, and the seven deadly sins, for royalty reasons. so i don't think vox would be referred to as the "television demon" or husk as the "gambling overlord" etc etc by the general public—everyone knows who they are already, it was only alastor's terrifying anonymity that earned him a title

Me, before posting a chapter on AO3: Wow. This is really good. The syntax, the inner turmoil, the grammar. Impeccable. 10/10

It's time to lift the mystery of Alastor's outfit.

But first: Rosie. Her outfit is very loosely based off of the denim rolled-up-sleeves-and-pantslegs look of the 90s. I thought it vibed very well with her character. (On the art side I can say: drawing denim texture by hand is.... INTERESTING.... many an hour was spent agonising from near and far on that one but in the end I think it turned out OK)

Now, for the main piece:

Alastor's shirt and pants are based off an anime character from the late 90s.

Specifically the 1997 remake of "Dr. Slump" by the late Akira Toriyama.

The character's name is Arale Norimaki and she is a chaotic funny android girl who was created by the titular character Senbei Norimaki a.k.a. "Dr. Slump".

I felt like the chaotic energy as well all her colour scheme vibed very well with Alastor. Though I did embellish the outfit with a fannypack, some 70s style glasses and different shoes.

If you haven't watched the anime, I highly recommend it!

as a bonus, here is the very funny german version of the song.

It's about "having a moon for a face" and makes frequent jokes about how you can hide your ass but not a face that large. The jokes culminate in something roughly translated into: "the biggest turnip-head of the galaxy" -> something that still to this day makes me chuckle when the joke crosses my mind.

Have you ever wondered if Cannibal Town is the only place in Pentagram City that enforces a dress code? Because I can think of plenty of other places that would have a theme.

It's date night at Zeezi's with your bestie. You would be forgiven to think they are a couple. They dress appropriate for any time period. And who can resist Nachos, Nuggies, Fries and having a Beer (or ten) and then go balling at the Roller Rink???

Do you remember a time when people used to smoke indoors while eating their greasy food out of little baskets? I member.

Do your remember a time when the shirt you were wearing was indistinguisheable from the pattern of your auntie's couch? I member.
