Rivers Under The Stars

A/N: Small fluff for @brownie-boi-baby based on a fluff scenario i sent in ♥

The stars lit your path as you walked hand-in-hand with Chan, your eyes focused on the sky above you as you walked past a few other couples, their loud laughter a background noise as Chan murmured thoughts to you in passing as they came to him. Your boba hung in your opposite hand, his own nearly finished and being squished in his opposite hand as you answered his sparse questions in an equally calm tone. Seungmin and Hyunjin were shouting at each other behind you, their shoes scuffing the gravel and kicking small pebbles at the backs of your legs as they stumbled along the path.

The quiet, consistent rushing of the river beside the path drew you in, your shoes sliding off with your socks as you rolled up your pants, stepping into the chilly water with a small squeal, Chan’s hand steadying you by your waist as you slipped on a mossy rock. The water lapping at your ankles made you giggle, your eyes catching his sparkling ones as he watched you with love in his eyes. Hyunjin caught your eye moments later, his shoes and socks coming off with a loud laugh at Seungmin as he struggles to take off his shoes while balancing on one foot. 

“Get ready to be wet~!”, Hyunjin shouted to the sky, his eyes crinkling with his smile as he winked at you when he looked back down to you.

Chan’s laugh made your heart flutter, your hands covering your face as Hyunjin stepped into the river beside you, his feet kicking water at you as Seungmin fell over on the strip of grass that lined the rushing water. You huffed a laugh at him, hands reaching for Hyunjin as he slipped slightly. Your eyes wander to the sky, taking in the stars as the water splashes with Seungmin stepping into it, Chan settling a little bit away on the grass with your boba to watch you spin in the water, head thrown back and smiling brightly as Hyunjin makes horrible jokes about being the one to get you wet first as Seungmin jumps on his back, dragging him into the shallow water as he shrieks at the cold.

“Okay, okay! Calm down, lets get dried off and keep walking before we catch hypothermia.”, Chan stood, grabbing your hand to help you out of the water as the boys splashed around in the water, spluttering for air between waves of water to the face as they fought. 

The water dried from your clothes soon enough, the cool night air whisking away the uncomfortable cold between your skin and your clothes as you curled under Chan’s arm, his hand rubbing your arm comfortingly as you siphoned his body heat. Hyunjin and Seungmin fought behind you on the path still, their clothes still damp and clinging to their frames as they continued to stumble dangerously close to the edge of the water, your hand leaving Chan’s waist to grab Hyunjins shirt and drag him away, pulling Seungmin with him to the other side of the path, away from the water.

Their energy calmed as the cold hit them fully, the breeze more direct on that side of the gravel, their arms circling their waists as they complained and whined about Chan being the one getting your body heat as you sipped your boba calmly. Chan fought their whiny grips at your shirt for you, transferring you to walk on his other side instead so he could use his body as a buffer between the grabby hands of the boys and you. 

“Oh look! There’s a waterfall!”, you pointed towards the small waterfall ahead of you in the river, the stronger rushing of the water making you smile as you left Chan’s hold to run towards it. 

Hyunjin followed you with his own run, Seungmin shouting at him to slow down as Chan grabbed his hand to calm him down slightly. Hyunjin slung his arm around your shoulder, slowing your run as you reached the mini waterfall, his hand intertwining with yours as you stared at the rushing water. He murmured in your ear, compliments flowing out of him as he tugged you to sit on the grass, your back against his still damp chest as you watched the water. Seungmin came to a rest beside you and Hyunjin moments later, your thigh being occupied by his large hand while you sipped your boba once more. Chan sat down a minute later, having actually walked over, his lips taking your straw as he stole some of your boba. 

You let out a noise of disbelief, your hand leaving Hyunjin’s to smack at Chan’s chest, as he laughed loudly. You gave up fighting when you felt Hyunjin’s chest shaking against your back with his own laughter, his head bending over your shoulder to take a sip as well, his lips meeting your cheek after as a small thank you despite being smacked himself afterwards.

Seungmin, not one to be left out, followed suit and practically chugged the rest of your boba, your eyes widening dramatically as you watched the level drop. Gasping loudly, you smacked Seungmin over the head a few times, your anger dying as he started laughing as well. Your wall tumbled, sending you into hysterical laughter as the boys chuckled, each having a gentle hold on you as your face turned red and you lost your breath, waving your hands frantically in the air to silence them. 

The laughter died slowly over the next few moments, your eyes trained on the starry sky once more, the twinkling reminding you of the eyes of your boys. Glancing at Chan and Seungmin’s eyes, Hyunjins closed behind you as his head rested on your shoulder, you hummed to yourself, a content smile on your lips as you leaned more heavily into Hyunjin’s solid frame.

Gentle conversation passed between you all, your heart fluttering at the soft tones, the calming rushing of the river and the gentle twinkling of the stars above you all. Nothing could have made your night more perfect, your boys and the river under the stars completing your deepest desires as you slowly dozed off on Hyunjins shoulder, worries and problems be damned.

Tears filled your eyes quickly as Jongho held your hands gently, his eyes on your thighs as you sat in front of him. You wanted to tell him you broke your clean streak rather than him finding out on his own one day. It was painful to sit him down and tell him… to show him. But you loved him. And he loved you. No secrets. Not when it came to your well being. 

His eyes filled with tears to match yours as he looked between your fresh cuts and your own watery eyes. 

“What made you do it?”

“I don’t know…”, you sighed, “it’s just been a lot lately and I know you have your own things to worry about so I kept it to myself…”

“You’re my everything, love. You never have to hide stuff like this from me. I just want you happy.”, his hand left yours to wipe away some tears from your cheeks.

You nodded at him, words failing you as you watched him cry for you. You loved him so much and you never wanted to see him cry, but telling him, going through it all with by your side made it so much easier to face tomorrow. 

“I know it’s difficult speaking up, going through this… thank you for telling me, love. It’ll be okay, yeah?” 

You smiled at him sadly, your tears falling with his as he pulled you to his chest, a comforting hand rubbing your back gently.

“You’re not alone. You never are. I promise you, Y/N… I will always be here for you.”
