I am a solo indie dev trying to overcome my anxiety and actually let people know my game exists. It is a cute physics based game where you are the level.

How I battle my OCD intrusive thoughts

1-st way: "we will solve it when it will happen"

Brain: strangers will call you names and beat you up

Me: well, we will do something about it when it will happen. Right now I can't do anything about that, because it doesn't happening.

2-nd way: "reality check"

*a child is playing on playground*

Brain: imagine that this child is trafficked and you are a client

Me: oh, it sucks. But am I a client?

Brain: you-

Me: I already went away, I am having a date with my partner. I am very much not a client. Ratio.

3-rd way: "Well, we'll ball with it"

Brain: you probably just ruined someone's life by coughing so loudly. They might have trigger for that

Me: well, and?

Brain: you are a bad person

Me: okay, I am. What now?

Brain: ...

4-th way: "let's have some fun"

Brain: you are a bad person

Me: who is a bad person?

Brain: a person who harmed someone

Me: Jesus is a bad person?

Brain: ... Ok, someone who doesn't deserve it

Me: why are you the one to tell me who does deserve death and who is not? You are an ill human, you make mistakes.

Brain: common sense.

Me: well, let's collect some statistics about how common your sense actually is, huh?
