You know, when I’m reading BOB smut fics for all those different OTPs, I take amusement out of imagining all of them happening at the same time.

Like they’re in Haguenau in some house they’ve commandeered, and in pretty much every other room there’s gay af paratroopers super-secretly going at each other. Like, Speirs is fucking Lipton while two rooms over Webster and Liebgott are having the most amazing angry hate-sex and Babe and Gene are probably making gentle love in the basement and Dick and Nix are getting busy in HC across the road. Meanwhile Harry wonders where everyone’s going all the time.

And the funniest thing? All of them think they’re the only gay couple in Easy.

think about it: on a good day, it’s “carwood” this or “lipton” that. if ron’s being extra cheeky, sometimes it’ll stray into the “first sergeant” or “lieutenant lipton” territory.

but when shit hits the fan suddenly it’s “darling, please don’t ever scare me like that again” or “sweetheart, I’m so glad you’re alright.”

it works both ways, too. most of the time it’s just “ron” or “speirs” or “sir.” but the second ron gets hurt, it’s “this is what happens when you run into fire, love” or “sunshine, if you do that again I swear to christ I will kill you myself.”

and every time the boys hear it, they don’t go “awwww” like they might if they heard, for example, baberoe do it, or winnix. oh, no, when speirton is starting to call each other by their pet names in public, everyone’s reaction is immediately; “oh shit we’re in deep trouble.”
