Starkid Is One Of The Absolute Best Arguments For Supprting Independent Art. The Fact That The Shows

Starkid is one of the absolute best arguments for supprting independent art. The fact that the shows you're invested in can't get canceled by Big Daddy Streaming, the quality is always amazing, the love of the cast and crew doesn't get squeezed out by surprise budget reductions, the fact that since crowd funding provides almost all costs up front (plus the presence of voluntary digital ticket/in person tickets for additional funding), the fan base can access the full material for whatever cost they can contribute (even if you can give nothing monetarily, you will still get a professionally shot version of the material eventually, without surprise fees or password crackdowns, AND with captions/completely accesible regardless of location). The same goes for Tin Can Bros, Shipwrecked, and all the other associated theater and web series companies loosely connected to Starkid. Like, I cannot believe the amazing content provided to us at the same level as Broadway or streaming services with billion dollars at hand, with almost none of the catches that come with others. Like, I cannot believe that we get all of this right at our hands.

I got the picture I made for valentines day printed out.

It's the first time I've seen my art in physical form, and it looks amazing.

Something that bothers me is when people only put the blame on her for her dynamic with Kokichi. Is it okay that she tried to kill him? No. However, Kokichi is not some innocent victim; he repeatedly antagonizes her by throwing her trauma in her face, and implying she's an unredeemable monster. When her whole character arc is about understanding that she is more than a killer, and that she deserves love and friendship. In chapter fove he straight up pretends to be the mastermind and kidnaps someone she cares about. In this essay I will...

It really bothers me that Maki is seen as "cruel" or "selfish" by the fandom when she's quite frankly way too selfless for her own good. She becomes an assassin to protect a friend of her's, Volunteering in her place so "She doesn't spend the rest of her life crying." Maki had sacrificed any chance she had at a life of her own to save her friend who died while Maki was training anyway. And even then, Maki stayed an assassin. Trying her hardest for every single mission for the orphanage, She endured literal torture and kept having to experience it(Implied) and she literally refers to her life(Not directly) as "A fate worse than death" But Maki persists. She sucks it up and keeps going so no more children at the orphanage would have to go through what she did. She has literally gave up any control over her life and like any free time for the orphanage. And the majority of the fandom only sees her on surface level and doesn't understand why she acts the way she does and just blames it on cruelty or selfishness

Also I saw someone call her a "pick me" for talking about her problems, Like????

I don't know if the blue lighting on the line "singing all these songs gives him greater window to kill/but we're singing still" (and the entirety of Hatchet Town, tbh) was intentional or not but there do be some Implications (TM) here

Haha, wouldn't it be so funny if the people of Hatchetfield were allowed to be happy and not tormented by eldritch forces? Wouldn't that just be so hilarious?
