@ruleofvee enjoy

I love writing fanfiction because i can force my favourite characters to go through the most heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, traumatising experiences ever and then be like "noooo my sweet baby who put you through this 🥺"

thinking. with jimmy being the canary in a coal mine, its implied that his death is a warning. in secret life, he didn’t die first, he died after quite a bit of carnage- the players didn’t get a warning. everyone's death was sudden and unexpected, minus the bigger resistors (pearl died and scar didnt even know. scott chose, not warned, his death. gem thought pearl would side with her, as they had a whole convo about it. mumbo was out to the chaos of wardens and withers, which came without warning.). Add this to the poor and confused communication throughout the series, and jimmys late death actually makes a lot of sense. going back to the canary in a coal mine analogy- its less like a natural gas started leaking, and more like someone forced their way into the mine, killing several people, in order to rupture the pipes.
