You can really see where Chirin gets his ‘helmet’ markings!

Hello!! Ive been thinking myself and what if i made my girl Seraph into an egg eater of a different group and I dont really know what kind of side effects from egg eating she would have or if it really changes down the road from the first dragon egg that she eats. So i thought id come to you with a description of two times, one being the first egg, the second being the time when she finds out those are dragon eggs she has been eating.
Before egg eating and during the time of the first one. She is naïve, sensitive, pretty airheaded at times but also a strong sense of justice, and kindness. The reason why she never knew that she was eating dragon eggs in the first place, was because she wasnt originally dragon but instead changed physically and magically into a dragon. Also how she got into egg eating is because of Six.((another dragon of mine)) Who also kept her in the dark for quite some time.
But now when she found out those were indeed dragon eggs, due to some external factor. She just.... spirals... Feeling things such as despair, undeserving of any second chance, including being locked away for all time. And just massive amounts of guilt. Wishing that the countless eggs she had already eaten and that her group ate could of been undone and brought back. Yet what had been done is already done.
I would love to hear what you have to say about this and could offer some pointers on how to develop this! Thanks!
Hypergryph: Oh my goodness this poor thing! Seraph needs better friends, I hope she finds them!

Hmm... This is a REALLY interesting case you have here. When beastclan(I'm assuming she was beastclan?) ingest dragon eggs they gain powers that align with the element of the egg, the power level of which is decided by their own strength of will. So, while a dragon might gain powers based on their personality/character, a beastclan being will(more predictably) gain elemental-based powers.
Let's say, two raptoriks with equally strong wills yet opposing personalities eat fire eggs. They will both gain fire-based powers of equal strength, with no dependence on their character traits. The raw magic simply overpowers their own personal magic. However, if two dragons eat fire eggs, their personal magic is strong enough to merge with the egg's raw magic, resulting in more unpredictable powers.
I think...you may have to consider how being transformed into a dragon has affected her magical signature. Eaters can only gain powers once, but is this true in Seraph's case? Having eaten eggs before her dragon form would have given her elemental powers for sure, but since all dragons ALREADY have an element, would this render her magic as basic as every other natural-born dragon?
It could possibly open her up for another chance to gain a power when she eats eggs a second time, but seeing as she doesn't know they're eggs, her guilt won't necessarily affect her 'new' powers after the fact.
This was a really cool submission, thank you! I hope that you'll let me know what direction you decide to go with Seraph!
Since she doesn’t seem to get asked about as much, I’m really curious about our girl Via! How does she get along with her fellow egg-eaters? Which of them does she seem to get along with the best? (By the way, I really love your art, you’re one of my favorite blogs right about now!)
Wonderful question! Via hasn't had much time in the spotlight, but she's certainly dear to me!
1.

Little Via spends most of her time with Okira, and the two are like siblings. Them being around the same age(Via is 22 while Okira is 20) puts them closer together generationally, so they're able to relate, hang out, joke around, and enjoy each other's company without anyone feeling the pressure of seniority. They're often together, sometimes to braid mane's and tails, try facial masks, and other 'girls night' pampering activities, which Via is extremely fond of.
2.

Via sees Rannoch as a tough, no-nonsense older sister. They don't 'hang out' as much, but Via is all too eager to listen to Rannoch's battle-stories and ask about her past when Rannoch gets in a boastful mood. Via has almost no real concept of battle or war, so her view of Rannoch is more akin to a superhero.
3.

Khoga is Via's mom friend, and the two get along extremely well. Via's not really book-smart, but she contributes some fun and clever ideas whenever the two are together. Khoga is also who she goes to for advice, and admires her reliability. It's also important to note that Khoga is the one studying (and treating) her skin condition, so Via feels further attachment to her, considering her a parental figure.
4.

And lastly, gaslight king Matthias. Via has put him on an extremely high pedestal for a friend. She eats up his spiel about being family and sticking together(nostalgia for her family being a big weakness). That being said, the two are actually really fun to party with! They feed off of each other's energy, especially when it comes to trying stupid/fun things.
It's such a gratifying feeling, hearing that someone has found enjoyment reading my work. Thank you, wonderful person!
Hahahahaha... Nah, Striver is forever bound to his fae overlord, so he's forever stuck doing things like this. This is why you don't make deals with the good neighbours, you usually get screwed. Shroud is just your standard unseelie, so yeah, generally a maliciously mischievous being. They really were just doing their jobs there though, so for Striver I figured his powers would come from a sense of reluctant duty? As for the Humanity comment, I figured they were like us humans, just able to have more life experiences as they live for a long time. I mostly used that word because dragonity didn't feel quite right. It also didn't sound or look good so I just went with humanity. I still don't know what I'm doing with his powers here though... Suggestions are welcome ngl.

“Ah yes, Vogonity—sorry—of the poet's compassionate soul”-Douglas Adams
Hmm well, reluctant duty...Personally I think of dark knights, like the ones employed by evil sorcerers in high fantasy. Not to mention that Striver brings nightmares to life.
So (just spitballin) perhaps Striver's touch gains a property that allows him to transform household objects into the stuff of nightmares temporarily? Perhaps it is ingrained in his scales, which he can crush into powder and blow into the faces of unsuspecting dragons. It's reminiscent of those middle-man assassins/thieves you can read about in books, while also keeping the nightmare theme.
Heck, I don't know if you can incorporate it, but you know those toads that push their knuckle bones out of their skin to make claws? Maybe something like that but with his skull mask, and a single scratch inflicts the nightmare effect.
There's really all sorts of powers he can have!
I haven't seen this asked, so I must do it. Have any of the egg eaters tried a Bogsneak egg?
They haven't had the chance to, nor do they trust baldwin's enough to use his services for an egg.

[Stumbles in here] Oh shit is it egg muncher sharing day?
Hi hello I hope you're doing grand on this fine day! May I offer you a good boy in this trying time? His name is Bonesong, and for the sake of mobile users I'll try and give a tl:dr version here.
-Dad is poggers but mom is power hungry GARBAGE. -Lil man copes by hanging out around his unhatched sibling. -Dad dies before said sibling can hatch (Uh oh! Uh oh! Doomed egg!) -Lil man thinks it's incredibly BS that unhatched sibling can't even get a chance to proove themselves as a survivor and tries to think of a way to save the sib bc he KNOWS they're in there he can feel it in his bones. -Mom is getting worse and is looking weird at sib (uh oh! uh oh!) -UNDER PRESSURE.mp4 -While trying to do some ritual magic lil man hears mom coming closer. -UNDER PRESSURE.MP4 -Decides the best corse of action to save his unhatched sibling is to just down the egg in one mid ritual and leg it. -This works! Kinda! He can hear sib's voice in his own head and his body is changing to accomodate a symbiote. -From this point forth they just kinda lurk around and keep eating eggs under the impression they're Saving them from their mom.
So that's my boy! I'm curious to what you think and what power you'd give him bc rn I'm honestly stumped apart from the ability to see spirits and symbiotic limbs! M also curious to what you say a dragon might get if they wholeheartedly beleived they were doing the right thing and saving the egg by eating it as you are the giant rat that makes all of the rules! Hope your day goes wonderfully!! ovo)/ [sparkles]
Alrighty, as Emperor-President-Tzar-King Rat I have something to declare about your boy Bonesong...

This is among the most clever uses of egg eating I've had the pleasure of reading! The themes of plague (survival, parasitism vs symbiosis) are so neatly interwoven with this particular instance of egg eating that it offers an example of the different directions egg eating can take. He's not just some tortured soul, or a desperate dragon seeking some selfish and egotistically driven desire, but a brother hoping to give his little sibling a chance at a life they were unfairly denied (something that, as an older sibling myself I can deeply respect. Perhaps I am biased in that regard?).
This act, from my perspective, seems truly selfless. While egg eating is generally deemed morally abhorrent, this time it was done altruistically with only Bonesong sacrificing a bit of his body for the sake of his unhatched sibling. It's unexpected, creative, well developed, and a delightful change from the usual brand of egg eater.
Now the egg raiding and revenge plot afterwards bumps him from hero to morally grey character( Vengeance and Altruism become very blurred here) but that is simply how it is.
In terms of powers you've asked: "I'm also curious to what you say a dragon might get if they wholeheartedly believed they were doing the right thing."
To that I say, it depends on the context of what that thing is. His character 'merges' with his sister to offer her some semblance of life, and by giving him the mirror characteristics of his absorbed sister I believe you've manifested these powers quite well. Expanding on the idea of Bonesong sacrificing his body to accommodate the less fortunate, a possible power could be allowing spirits to commandeer his body for a short while. Or perhaps he can craft bodies for these spirits to possess as long as the material he uses has a trace of his own body, like a golem. However, these are mere expansions, as he's pretty solid as is!
Anyways, amazing dragon, great character, and really solid concept! I hope you have an amazing week. Keep on creating awesome characters, you definitely have a knack for it!
