Maybe all these things that Laios is advising Falin to do somehow keep ending up with more people convinced that Marcille and Laios are madly in love

They'll stop at an inn with the owner assigning them two rooms

Falin is excited to spend some one-on-one time with Marcille without having Laios around

Laios is really happy to see his sister perk up that he doesn't even listen to anything else the innkeeper says

Meanwhile Marcille is so tired and ready to sleep on a mattress that she takes the keys, thanks them for giving them a couples' quarter with an adjoining room, shoves Falin in the single bed room and drags Laois over to the bigger one since she's used to bunking with him.

When they meet up again in the morning, Falin is silently fuming and it gets worse when she hears Marcille jokingly complain about Laios stealing the covers

Need an AU where Marcille met Laios first. Maybe she dropped out of Magic School before Falin transfered over, the allure of gaining first-hand knowledge of ancient magic from dungeon diving too much.

Her and Laios still have an interesting and intimate dynamic, but from the outside perspective, it seems like they're in a romantic relationship.

To make it clear, they're not. One is just the friend with no concept of personal space, and the other is the friend who loves to love their friends.

Each moment brings them closer, but they definitely still do dumb shit

Yet when they mention other moments that seem normal to them, it raises eyebrows

ANYWAYS, what I'm getting at is when Falin finally joined her brother's adventure she started crushing on Marcille but was upset about it because that's her brother's girlfriend

Marcille is excited to finally meet Falin and is doing everything she can to make a good impression, not knowing that she's making Falin's struggle harder.

Just a misunderstanding where Falin is simultaneously mad at herself for wanting her brother's girl, guilty of the possessiveness she's feeling and that she's enjoying the half-elf's attention as well as jealous that she's not hers, meanwhile Laios and Marcille are sort of just oblivious because they're glad she's there. Sometimes, though, they do notice that she'll stare at them a little too intensely with a barely noticeable frown when she thinks they aren't looking.
