It's Good Friday. Time to get emotional

Every time I think about it, it always really gets me the way Jesus, in such pain and agony, instead of crying for himself, yells "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they are doing!" (Luke 23:34)

As Jesus was on the verge of death, he cries out "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46) Because in that moment the sins of the world were on Him and God could not look at Him. In fact, He can't even call God His Father!

The greatest pain for Him was experiencing what we feel every day... A separation from God because of sin! If we are so used to this pain, I can't imagine the ecstacy we will feel when we get to stand in God's presence unhindered in the future...!

Watching all of this was enough to even convince one of the ROMAN GUARDS that "Truly, this man was the Son of God!" (Mark 15;39)

Please take a moment to just... Thank God for the big things and the little things, today. Take a moment to feel some Joy at the life He gave us.

Hi there! I just wanted someone to pray for me. I didn't know when it started but I noticed that I was slowly drifting away from God. I was very excited to do devotions and read His Word before and I can't even let a day pass without opening my Bible. I want to be emptied and be filled again. I have no one in my church that I could open up to. So please include me in your prayers :) Book suggestions or reminding me a particular verse might help. Thank you and God bless!
