Happy inktober!

Denki’s body is covered in scars. He had more than anyone else in the Hero Course, including Midoriya. You would think this would garner him some concern, but everyone seemed fine with it. Denki’s quirk hurt, not that anybody knew. It made lichtenberg figures stretch across his body, and his doctor said that one day they would cover his face too. He hated them, the ugly pink marks. He wished they would just go away. 

Kirishima mostly had scars on his arms. When using his quirk his skin would occasionally crack, leaving the pattern of it behind after it healed. He lathered on lotion, trying to make the cracks go away. They never did. He mourned the smooth skin that used to be there, the cracks reminding him of his failures. He hated the feel of them underneath his cracked hands.

Bakugou had scars on the palm of his hands. He was losing feeling there, but not function. He would often run his hands over his partners, trying to memorize the feel of them for when the nerves in his hands finally gave out. One of his favorite things was to run his hands over his partners scars, the texture was so nice. The healed cracks on Kirishima’s arms, the figures that ran all over Denki. It reminded him of how alive they were, how much they had faced to make it here.

Denki loved the feeling of Kirishima’s cracked scars. He found them so preferable to his own. Kirishima’s scars showed how strong he was, Denki’s just showed his weakness. He loved holding Bakugou’s hand and feeling the scars there, the roughness reminding him of just how hard his partner worked to be the best, for himself and for his partners. 

Kirishima liked to run his hands over the patterns of Denki’s lichtenberg figures. He thought they were so pretty, beautiful additions to his beautiful partner. He could draw the figures from memory, and often did on the edges of his papers. He wished for these instead of the ugly cracks he wore.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine "Past Tense, Pt. 1"

Denki was falling. He could feel the wind blowing around him, the chill piercing through his clothes. It was oddly peaceful, the falling. The sound of the wind through his ears was all his brain would focus on, keeping him calm. 

The lightning strike was sudden, painful. It hit Denki while he was still in midair, and he fell unconscious.

When Denki woke up he was still falling. The pain was gone, all feeling was gone. The only sensation was the wind. He was high in a clear, blue sky. It was lovely. He let out a breath he didn’t know he had been holding and relaxed into the fall.

When Denki woke up he was laying on the ground in a field. The sky looked so big above him. He felt odd, like something had claimed him. 

Little did Denki know, but something had.
