Who Is The Real Creator?
Who is the real creator?
-TW: cult, yandere, impostor au, mentions of hunt
-Gn reader and darling (please tell me if i mess this up message me and i will fix it)
plot idea (This was inspired by another post but i can't find it ToT):
Reader is friends with Darling. Sometimes Reader helps Darling with dailies, grinding and building the characters.
Somehow reader ends up in Genshin Impact but it's in Darlings world.
Reader is mistaken as an entity that is trying to take over and harm Darling as they have been controlled by Reader before and do not like it.
The Reader is hunted down and shunned it all comes to a stop once Darling descends and stops the hunt. Misunderstandings are cleared and Reader is finally safe from the crazy Acolytes.
All should be fine now except it was the Reader who created Darling's account and gave it to them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reader wiped the sweat on their forehead with the sleeve of their robe. The Sumeru weather was rather hot this midday as the sun was at its peak. With nothing better to do Reader decided to dust off the front of their house.
It was more akin to the size of a cabin and rather isolated yet Reader loved it as it gave them the privacy and security of four sturdy walls. A place entirely of their own *they could control* and it was far enough they did not have to suffer the company of people.
Reader was rather thankful for the Dendro archon to gift them this place.
After what they have been through it was more than deserved, no?
They did not really know what to think of Nahida. On one hand, she had not tried to kill them or hurt them, she was one of the few people who did listen to their side. On the other hand, she was an archon and Reader's experience with the other was not. . . They had no words to describe it. It was plainly a negative horrible experience that still haunted Reader as they slept at night. Their only solace was that the mess of the events that happened months ago was over and that they were a Free person once again.
It does not help that occasionally the archon would give them an intense blank stare that did not suit her young face. Whenever she stared at them like that Reader wanted to bolt through the nearest exit but the stare was gone as quickly as it came.
Reader continued to dust off the porch collecting the dust and dead leaves on a pile they had left the dustpan inside of the house. Just when they were about to head inside to grab it they saw two familiar figures. There was no doubt that the floating figure and golden hair belonged to the Traveler and Paimon, the latter already giving a wave.
Reader gave a small smile and returned the wave.
"Reader! Long time no see how have you been?" said Paimon.
"Hi Traveller, Hi Paimon sorry you had to come and see this mess, I have been fine hopefully you guys kept out of trouble?"
Paimon answered with a sheepish smile.
The Traveler greeted them and Reader ushered both of them inside the house towards the kitchen and made them sit while they prepared some tea.
"It looks like you settled in nicely Paimon is happy for you Reader."
"Thank you Paimon, yeah it's been really nice here."
Reader put the kettle on the stove and almost forgot how to be a proper host.
"Oh right, I have some leftover cookies! Let me grab that."
"You don't have to overexert yourself Reader," said the Traveler with a gentle smile.
"No- no it's fine I was trying a recipe the other day and I made too much, you guys have to eat it all by the way or else it's rude"
"Well, then we would be bad guests if we don't eat right traveler?"
The traveler did not reply and gave his floating companion a deadpan expression. It was rather amusing to see how to see in real life rather than the game - this is not a game anymore stop that.
Eventually they bought over the cookies and poured the tea. Reader was rather proud of themselves for once. Paimon did not hesitate to dig in and they were rather delighted that their cookies were being enjoyed. The Traveler sipped his tea calmly. Reader smiled and blew on the hot tea before also drinking it.
"I see you have been reading about the history of this world?"
"Yeah it gets rather boring just cleaning here, the Dendro Archon dropped by and gave me some books, she's smart since I don't really know much about this world."
"Yeah! Despite looking so young Nahida is really perceptive and wise, Paimon is kind of jealous."
Aether looked at his companion with a playful look and Reader knew he was about to tease his companion. They tried to hide a smile behind the teacup as they took a sip.
"Ohh! Paimon almost forgot! Darling asked us to deliver a letter!"
Reader's smile tensed a little. Aether's previous playful look was gone and he looked at them with concern. Reader held the teacup more harshly than necessary. It was fine they did not need to be babied. They gave Aether what they hoped was a reassuring smile.
Reader was still confused about how to behave around Darling. That person was their best friend, they had been friends since before Reader could remember and all the way to adulthood sharing an apartment. Yet knowing that the person you trusted the most was behind your suffering, even indirectly? It hurt like shit. Reader could not even meet Darling properly since one of their cursed "acolyte" or whatever the hell they called themselves always trailed behind Darling and Reader refused to be near any of those acolytes who actively tried to kill them before. So both were at an awkward standstill.
Isn't it supposed to be bros before hoes? What the hell Darling.
Paimon gave them the letter and Reader tried to thank them without sounding off.
Looking at the letter Reader wanted to scoff, what were they a 1800s paramour?
They looked at Aether they did not want to be rude and read the letter while they were in a conversation. Reader thought it would be the equivalent of reading chat messages while in front of friends, which was impolite. Aether gave them a smile and a nod, and Reader felt a bit at ease.
They opened the letter.
Huh.
They were a little taken aback by how normal this letter was. Reader looked up and Paimon was looking at them rather curiously but tried to hide it by staring at her tea.
"Darling says they are a bit overwhelmed being the creator and all otherwise they are fine it seems."
"Ohh Paimon would bet it would be super stressful taking the position of the creator like that, Alhaitham was so busy as acting grand sage," she brings a hand to her head mimicking it as if it was heavy, "Paimon imagines there is a lot of paperwork."
Reader laughs, it was nice to hear Paimon light-hearted take.
"Yeah Darling mentions that."
Reader does not mention the worries of their friend(?) in the letter or their stress that is something private between them. Things change yet Darling still confides in them Reader is not sure how to feel about that as they sip their tea.
The rest of the day goes smoothly as they all converse about Paimon and the Traveller's adventures in the newest nation, soon it was time to say goodbye and Reader did it with a smile.
.
.
.
"Come on where did I put it?"
Reader said in a frustrated tone as they barrage through the books on their shelves. They know they had the book somewhere for the class. The professor on that topic was someone who always made snide comments on the failure of students and whatnot and Reader did not want to have to deal with that.
"I hope I did not come at the wrong time?"
"Lord Kusanali! I did not see you there, sorry for the mess."
It felt like deja vu when the Reader said that, remembering the time the Traveler came to visit them.
Nahida smiled and shook her head. From the open door they could see Wanderer standing outside. He looked a bit grumpy then again he usually always looked grumpy, a shame for someone with such a beautiful face.
"Please call me Nahida Reader I like to think we know each other well enough now."
Reader gave Nahida a sheepish smile and wrung their hands together it was a nervous tic.
"Sorry everyone calls you that or well Dendro Archon I did not want to disrespect you I sort of owe you a lot"
"No it is we who owe you a debt -," She looked rather sad, and seeing Reader's expression she changed topic rather quickly, "I came to talk about your recent activities I am very happy to see you being more active and joining classes."
"Ohh, Thank you," Reader paused a bit before answering, "I used to be a student. . . before I came here so it's nice having something familiar."
Nahida looked at Reader with a beam and they continued to talk about the classes Reader took and whatever they taught about officially joining a darshan. As Reader turned around briefly they missed the glossy and contemplative look the Archon gave them.
They finally found their book and with the Archon (and Wanderer) in tow headed towards the Akademiya. Turns out they did not need to find the book the moment the professor saw the tiny Archon he went pale faced and Reader had to hide a smile. Wanderer was not so subtle as he loudly snickered.
.
.
.
It's been so long I hope you are doing okay I do miss you. . .
Reader folded the letter and looked out the window. The night skies here were clear no city lights and pollution that distorted the view. The stars shined without care, Reader felt a sudden chill and headed towards bed covering themselves in the blankets. They still looked out towards the sky.
"Miss. . . I guess I do miss you."
.
.
.
After everything was said and done Reader laid in the bed alone in the infirmary. There was a nurse and a doctor and whenever they came Reader would shake like a flame about to be put out easily by a gust of wind. They could not handle human interaction anymore. Once Darling came they were alone. Darling had cried and Reader had cried before an acolyte Came over and Reader looked at Darling horrified.
Why was Darling with those psychopaths did they not know what they were capable of? They might hurt Darling she needed to get away-
Reader must have gone into hysterics because soon the nurse came and injected them with something.
It was later told to them by the Dendro Archon herself in person that Darling was the creator. The cause of the hunt was because of Darling their childhood best friend.
Reader hugged themself.
Reader asked if they could speak to Darling but the Dendro Archon said the acolytes would have to follow them, they did not trust Reader in this condition.
As if they were not the psychopath who tried to kill an innocent person Reader thought.
Reader did not want to meet Darling if it meant having to meet the acolytes.
Reader was so so tired and just wanted to sleep.
.
.
.
Sumeru's climate was rather weird to Reader who never lived in a tropical climate before. It seemed to rain and while hot at the same time. Reader who grew up in the north much like Snezhnaya's climate was confused as it only rained in the cold autumns rarely do you get rain in summer but they adapted quickly.
Yet something felt off this particular day, they tried to distract themselves by doing dishes. Outside the rain was still going on but Reader noticed how eerily quiet there was no rustling of the winds or a single bird finding shelter in the trees. They quickly wiped their hands and strode towards their desk.
Reading was always a good distraction nothing beat reading while it rained, they remembered how they would sometimes turn on a raining asmr video as they read fanfics. The silly memory brought a smile to their face. But just as they saw down they heard a loud knock. Reader jumped up from their seat.
Their chest felt heavy. Unless it was Nahida, the Traveller or the Wanderer who in the early days delivered groceries to them, no one came to visit them they doubted it was a robber why bother knocking then? Maybe it was someone lost or seeking shelter from the rain both options sucked they did not want to entertain people yet, they wrung their hands together. When someone was in need they could not look away anymore.
They ran towards one of the dressers and bought a spare towel and scurried for the entrance door. With hurried and clumsy motions they opened the door and there-
Was Darling.
Darling looked. . . distraught, they were a mess from the last time they saw each other. Gone was the intricately styled hair and neat robes instead their hair was a mess and their clothes wrinkled. Even their face looked pale and it looked like Darling had not slept in days. Most notable was the lack of acolyte trailing after them, Reader almost expected to hear Zhongli's "I will have order!" followed by a meteorite striking Reader down and their cabin.
"You- Wait are you alright what is going on? Why are you alone? Did something happen?"
Darling still looked distraught and everything seemed really wrong, perhaps they should have been calmer when they asked their questions they did not need two people who were on the verge of panic.
"R-reader I-I," they paused before breathing in, "I bleed red," they said as if that single revelation could destroy them.
"Huh?" Reader replied dumbfounded

Village life started early. Many of the Omaticayan adults were already awake and beginning their morning chores of hunting, cooking and cleaning. Laughter of the children flowed through the air and it made them smile, happy to see them alive and bubbly after the terrible war not that long ago.
Neytiri was always up before her husband, being used to the bright morning light and loud chatter of her people. Jake however, not so much, the man tossed and clung to his mate, silently begging her to stay in bed, rubbing her big stomach tenderly. The warrior patted his hand and lifted it off her, getting out of the hammock to start the day. She sighed when her eyes caught the empty one across the hut, ___ must be up already.
She wanted to speak to her, make up for all that she has done, perhaps Neytiri will make a bracelet with Sylwanins beads. The same ones that she pulled off her mate in the heat of the moment. The Na’vi knew ___ swept them up and kept them amongst her things, she just had to find them.
Neytiri walked to the other side of the hut, crouching down and surveying the area, trying to find a basket or pouch, anything that might hold the beads. She lifted the hammock slightly to see underneath and noted its coldness, ___ must have been awake for longer than she thought. Seeing that there was nothing, the tsakarem stood tall and sighed. Where could they be?
A shuffle behind her made her ears twitch and a big groan sounded around the home, Jake stretched his body and got out of bed, walking up to his mate and kissing her cheek. “What are you thinking about?” his eyes were shut as he basked in the morning glow.
“An apology” Neytiri whispered, “I want to remake the bracelet that I broke”. Her ears tipped down in shame, she had no right to do what she did, it was childish and unbecoming of a future Tsahìk. She should not have done this to her dearest friend and supposed mate.
Jake’s eyes opened and he hummed but froze when he took in the sight before them, “Neytiri, I do not think you should worry about that now - shit!” he backed away to run out of the hut, climbing down the tree as fast as he could.
The woman stared after him in confusion and looked to where he did, frown instantly forming on her face. How could she have not seen this sooner? Half of ___’s things were gone, some clothes, blankets and the dried food they kept up here. Neytiri felt dread in the pit of her stomach and she held a hand to her mouth, silent tears welling in her eyes.
___ was gone.
-
The waves were calm since she arrived past the forest and out to sea, the Na’vi was thankful that Eywa was kind to her on the journey. If the weather was harsh she was not sure if she would have survived, the ocean was a very different place than the forest she grew up in.
It was an eight hour flight, including two one hour stops, to the reefs and ___ was jittering with nerves the whole way. She did not know what awaited her, if the Metkayina were kind and willing to take her and her boys in. She has heard about the unkindness of some Na’vi clans in stories as a child, ones that kept her awake at night, parents always used them to threaten their children into good behaviour. She could only hope these people were the opposite.
In the distance ___ noted the water turning a more lighter blue, the large creatures in the deep ocean starting to thin out and disappear the closer she got to the village Mo’at has talked to her about. In her viewpoint was an island, huge trees reaching out to touch the water and tide pools scattered around the edges of the reef. It was a beautiful sight, the air carrying a salty scent and warm breeze, warming herself as she was soon to land.
She was here.
Her ikran shrieked, notifying the strangers who looked up from their chores in the pools, whooping and diving into the waters to get closer to their village. A horn blew into the air, alarming her and the babies who squirmed in their mothers warm embrace. It was a warning signal, one that she was familiar with and was used against large predators from the forest.
They flew through Awa’atlu, ___ looking around at the different Na’vi in slight wonder, never having seen any like them before. They were a light blue, almost green, the same colour as the water below them and she noted their tails, thicker and fin-like. Tìlor swooped closer to the homes that rested above the water, finding a place to land his aching wings.
The ikran dropped onto one of the beaches, screeching out into the morning, shaking his head and chittering at the strangers who surrounded them. The Omaticayan on his back slipped off gracefully, slightly shaky legs carrying her towards the front of the people who stared at her with curious eyes, confused on what brought her here. Soft murmuring and chatter was carried out amongst the Metkayinans, questions bouncing back and forth between them.
“What is happening here?” a strong voice boomed across the people, immediately some parted to make way for the Olo’eyktan, dressed in colourful clothes and carrying a large spear, behind him a large creature splashed away, hissing. It was Tonowari, she remembered, a fearsome leader and great hunter, or so she was told by Mo’at. The tall Na’vi man sauntered up to her, copying her as she dipped in greeting, hands coming up to their foreheads in respect. “You are from the forest. What brings you and your little ones here, alone?” he questioned, eyeing the boys strapped to her body with a soft look.
___ gulped, shying away slightly. Tonowari was large and intimidating, but his aura radiated kindness, blue eyes only looking at her in curiosity not resentment. “I came to seek uturu, Olo’eyktan”
“Uturu?” a feminine voice shouted out, strong and unwavering. A women walked up to them, handing a child over to the closest person next to her. She was obviously Tsahìk, dressed in the classic forehead charm and excessive clothing. Again ___ dipped in respect, babies babbling at the constant movement their mother created. “Why?”
Ronal walked in circles around the forest Na’vi, touching her tail and gripping one of her arms, eyeing the boys as she did so. She was finding her soul, trying to seek her spirit and talk to Eywa through the interaction. “I have no place among my people, I- I had to get away from them”
“You are outcast?”
“I chose to be” ___ sighed out, eyes dropping slightly from both fatigue and the memories of Jake and Neytiri. “Toruk Makto is not as kind as the stories” Ronal quickly grabbed Sylwaì’s little arm, eyes squinting at the lack of fins.
“These babies will be slow in the water” she looked at her mate “they will have a hard time keeping up” Tonowari just stared at her and sighed, eyes flitting to their own son, Ao’nung, who has just been born a few weeks ago. He had every right to turn them away, to say no, but it was not the right thing to do, not with those babies on the line.
Ronal turned back to ___’s twins, blinking at their exposed kuru’s and purplish skin, they could not have been older than a day or two. The tsahìk clicked her tongue and walked back to her mate to stand beside him, heart heavy with the thought of this poor mother being cast out from her home, they both came to an agreement.
“We will provide you with a home to live in, food to eat and the Tsahìk will care for your recovery. You will find your role here in the clan once you are ready and my people will teach you the way of water” The clan leader raised his arms and voice, giving the statement to his clan who showed no objections. Despite the oddness of her arrival and questions still being unanswered, they will welcome her small family with love.
“Irayo Tonowari, Ronal” ___ thanked them and tipped her head, watching a smile grace the man’s face while their shaman curtly nodded.
“Let us help you with your bags, you must be exhausted” two Metkayina hunters sauntered up to the ikran, careful to not irritate the graceful beast and took off the woven bags on his back, walking in the direction of an empty marui.
-
It was peaceful here, ___ noted. The sounds of the forest were no more but instead was replaced with calm waves and the noises of oceanic creatures. Her marui was placed above the surface of the reef just like the rest, but was at the front of the village. She had the perfect view of the vast sea and a better sight of the planet and moon in front of them in the sky, much clearer than when she lived with trees obscuring above her.
Sylwaì and Syatxì babbled in her arms, grasping her woven top with pinching hands. She smiled down at them with love, a heavy weight disappearing from her heart.
They were safe.
Her family away from the cruelty of Toruk Makto and his wife, Palulukan Makto, ‘rider of fear’ she mused, ‘fitting’. A rustle was heard behind her where the entrance to her hut was, her ears swivelled and her head followed, wanting to see who it is.
“Oel ngati kameie, ___” Ronal strolled inside, basket on one hip and baby strapped to her chest. The boy looking around curiously, like he has never seen a marui in his small life before.
___ greeted her back formally, twisting away from the large opening she dangled her feet from and watching as the Tsahìk sat down next to her, sorting out the various items in her basket. “You have just given life to your children, srane?” when the bluer Na’vi nodded the other sighed and tutted “I assume you have had no time to heal properly, I will help you with applying salves to sooth your aches”
“Thank you, I was in a rush to leave the forest, I did not think about my own health or comfort on my travels” Sylwaì turned his little head to the stranger and blinked his wide yellow eyes, looking down to see other baby and reaching for him. For someone who was just born not long ago, he was already growing so fast.
Ronal smiled at him and unstrapped Ao’nung, happy to let him loose while she worked on the Omaticayan. ___ sighed as she did the same to her eldest twin, stroking Syatxì as he clung to her. They worked together in silence, ___ helping in whenever she could, using her knowledge that Mo’at taught her to use ointments on herself.
The paler woman dusted off her hands and nodded at her handiwork, looking the other in her eyes, admiring the flecks of yellow, never having seen it before in a Na’vi. Ronal has heard stories of others, different tribes and races from her father, but she did not anticipate meeting one in her life. “What has happened that caused you to leave the forest?”
The question caught ___ off guard and she paused, eyes wide and slightly watering. Memories rushing back to her, the broken bracelet, the verbal abuse, the beatings she had endured…
Before she could give an answer a loud coo and a splash echoed through the marui and immediately both women looked towards where one of the babies fell out the open space in the wall. Ronal chuckled when she took in the panicked look on ___’s face, “is- is he okay?! Tsahìk?!” she put Syatxì down and crawled to the edge, about to jump into the deep waters to save the baby when she was stopped by a finned hand.
“Ao’nung will be fine, Metkayina babies learn to swim as soon as they are born, look - he is floating up to the surface” the woman pointed out, seeing her son bob up and grin a gummy smile at his mother. Ronal used her stomach as leverage as she leaned down and scooped him up, shaking her head and tutting him.
___ merely blinked, surprised, “in Omaticaya we learn to climb the trees. As babies we are strapped to our parents as they go through the forest and sometimes we roam by ourselves…but seeing this, it is different”
“you will learn, as will your two sons, who are both the same age? Babies born at the same time are rare, you are blessed by our great mother”
“Srane, I was lucky with them” ___ kissed the top of their heads, mirroring their little smiles. Ronal repeated the question she asked earlier before being interrupted, as a Tsahìk she must learn why a stranger must insist on residing with her people. Are the sky people back? Is that why she abandoned the forest? But Eywa has said the danger has passed.
“Kehe, te tawtute are gone forever, but like I have said, Toruk Makto, Jake Sully, he is not as noble as Na’vi may think” ___ trailed off, not wanting to go into great detail. Ronal simply hummed, she will not push her, but one day she will get a proper story.
A yip called outside from in the waters, one that the Tsahìk was familiar with, immediately she leaned her head outside the hole in the marui and saw her mate on top of his tsurak, waving at the two women. “You will join us for the communal breakfast, yes? The people have decided that they want to get to know you and your babies” Tonowari grinned when ___ stared at the clan leaders, flabbergasted.
“I do not understand, why do they want to learn about us?”
“You are new, they are curious, the women are also enamoured by the cuteness of your children” Ronal rolled her eyes at the thought of all the older ladies about to swarm them so early in the day but could not deny that the partial reason she came was to see them too. “Afterwards me must get you acquainted with the water, the sooner the better”
“Will we be alright to?” ___ wanted to make sure that her and the babies health was okay before doing any extraneous activities. The other woman nodded and smiled, standing up and grabbing her son, passing him to his father who moved closer to the home.
“I must take my leave and help prepare breakfast, I have left you some clothes over there, ones more fitting for our waters, come to the beach when you are ready”
-
The Olo’eyktan did not lie when he said the women were excited to see the twins. As soon as she wandered down to the beach she was swarmed, Metkayina cooing at the tiny blue babies who squealed happily with the attention.
“They will be strong hunters. I can feel it” one of the elderly stated, admiring the strong physique of Sylwaì. ___ only chuckled as her tail flicked, her eldest boy was as chubby as they come, she did not think the physique was all that strong yet.
“Srane, they will have good mates too. Ones that will provide many grandchildren” another tickled one of the boys wriggling feet.
“Ma Sa’nu!” a Metkayinan swatted her older mother at the prospect, flushing purple in embarrassment and apologising to the twins mother who grinned.
“I hope they will not start any time soon, they are fresh out the womb Itxaì” Ronal strolled through the chattering Na’vi, nodding in greeting to the aforementioned woman and her daughter. “Come, we must get you some food. I trust you are hungry after your journey?”
With that que ___’s stomach rumbled, now it was her time to flush in embarrassment. Tail tucked between her legs and ears flat to her skull. The Na’vi in close proximity chuckled while they wondered across the beach for some breakfast.
Tonowari sat with some of his hunting men, talking about where they will go for next weeks trip. The man looked up and grinned at his wife and new clan member, bouncing Ao’nung on his knee who burbled at one of the men. ‘Already such a strong talker’, he mused. “Sit here, the sand is warm and would be enjoyable for your boys”
Having already fed the twins earlier ___ put them down without hesitation, sighing when the wrap came undone and her back ached a little less. Ronal grabbed a large leaf to pile some fish on, handing it over and watching amused as it was scarfed, “you act like you have never eaten payoang before”
“We have fish in the rivers, but they are never like this” the dark Na’vi wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, eyes stuck on the rest of the seafood and fruit in the pile in front of them.
“Take however much you want”
She did not have to be told twice.
Tonowari let his son roam a little on the sands, watching him as the baby crawled slightly to the others, grinning in amusement at his sons curiosity. “Your children will have a good life here, we have many occupations for them, large waters to swim in, many Na’vi to befriend, they will never be alone or unfulfilled. Neither will you”
___’s tail swished against the sand, curling and disrupting the stillness of the tiny rocks, it was the complete opposite to the Metkayinans, who’s tails slapped the sand and could not twist like hers, “Thank you. You have been welcoming to us, I will do what is needed to contribute”
“And you will” Ronal piped up from beside her, grabbing her own pieces of fruit, “but in due time. Now, do you know how to swim?”
___ blinked, yes she could, she has learnt with the rivers in the forests. As she nodded the other woman observed her, eyes glancing up and down ___’s thin body. “Forget what you know. We will start anew, you must learn to breathe”
“But I am breathing. Am I not?”
“Kehe, she means from here” Tonowari chuckled and placed his hand onto his stomach and sucked in some air, chest puffing and back straightening, “to live like us you must breathe like us in the water”
“And my sons-?”
“Will be taken care of” the Tsahìk interrupted, reassuring the newcomer, she was sure that the elders of the clan would not mind caring for the twins for a couple hours today, they are too young to learn breathing techniques that they were not born to do “we start when the sun is at its peak. For now you must eat”
___ had a feeling that today will be challenging, she was in a new environment and must erase her teachings of the forest to replace with the way of water. But she will get through it.
She has to.

“Satoru, can we talk?” Shoko exits the bathroom, and she luckily bumps into Satoru. Satoru shakes his head, his eyes falling on you as you run out of the place. He’s about to run after you, but Shoko stops him. Her hand goes to his forearm.
“What the fuck are you doing? Why the hell is she running off?” Satoru sounds irritated, and Shoko knows that if she lets go, he’ll stop you. He’s about to push her away, and she knows that he’s much stronger.
“Let her go. It’s an emergency.” She says, and he furrows his brows. An emergency? Like what?
“Someone better be in the hospital.” Satoru responds, and this wave of guilt hits Shoko. For too many of her actions, the biggest of all is her hiding his son from him. She shouldn’t care, it’s none of her business.
“Satoru…” Her heartbeat races, and she’s about to stop herself from talking. She shouldn’t, it’s not her place. But you’re not speaking up ever, and Satoru deserves to know about the existence of his son. “She’s going to see Ren at the hospital.”
“The cat? Why the fuck–” Satoru begins but he’s cut off. The next words that leave her mouth, leave him dumbfounded.
“Ren isn’t a cat. Ren is her son.” Shoko blurts out. Satoru feels his blood boil at the mere thought of you being with someone else. He’s confused though, why would you hide the fact that you have a kid? Shoko tries to read his emotions, but she can’t. It’s hard.
“Who’s the father?” Satoru asks, wondering if it’s someone he knows. It doesn’t click in his head quite that second. Shoko gives him a moment to think about it, but it doesn’t occur in his head. Shoko has to tell him,
“I don’t think you get it… Why would she not tell you that she has a son?” Shoko feels like she’s dumbing it down. Satoru isn’t an idiot, but a million thoughts run through his head. He shrugs. “Ren is her son. Your son. She’s leaving because you have a son together, and he’s in the hospital.”
“You’re lying. She would tell me. She wouldn’t keep that from me.” Satoru answers, and Shoko lets go of him. He goes chasing after you, but you’re gone. He’ll just stop by every hospital nearby, until he finds you. He’ll remember the name– Either Ren has your last name, or his. He’ll ask about either name.

“Satoru…” You stand up from your chair, and you watch as tears well up in his eyes as he takes in the scene. Shoko wasn’t lying– Ren doesn’t have his last name, but one swift look at the kid and he realizes that is his son. That’s his spitting image.
You stare at each other, frozen in time. Your heart feels as if it’s in your throat, and your mind chases a thousand miles per hour as you think of what you’ll say next. What can you say? You weren’t exactly preparing yourself for this moment, you thought this would never happen. How fucking stupid.
While Satoru feels betrayed. Utterly hurt. He’s always thought the best of you; you were damn near the perfect woman. Yet you’ve betrayed him in the worst possible way. You hid his own flesh and blood from him… For what?
But Satoru isn’t going to argue, not when a little boy that he just met is in pain, and the kid is calling him daddy. Satoru rushes to Ren’s side, pressing a kiss on his forehead. Satoru isn’t quite sure what to say, what do you say to your son? A kid that’s probably almost five, a kid you just met?
“He has appendicitis, he has surgery in the morning.” You inform him. Should you tell him to go back to his event? And deprive Satoru and Ren from this sweet moment? You have no option but to sit back down and watch the scene unfold.
“I’ll be by your side, buddy. Everything’s gonna be okay.” Satoru’s finger pushes Ren’s hair out of his face. Satoru takes in the little details of his son’s face. Ren has your nose, but apart from that, he looks just like Satoru. Tears stream down Satoru’s face, and his voice breaks, in disbelief that this is happening, “I’m sorry I wasn’t here earlier, Ren. Your daddy is here now.”
You feel nauseous, tears streaming down your face as you watch them. Guilt for the last couple months that you’ve kept him hidden when Satoru was right in front of you. But you didn’t. You could’ve defied Mrs. Gojo’s orders, but you selfishly didn’t. You watch as Satoru kisses his son’s forehead again.
If he could, Satoru would hug Ren so tight that he’d nearly leave the boy breathless. But he can’t. He’ll do it next week though, when Ren is better.
The sweet moment is interrupted by his ringing phone, and Satoru takes it out. His mother calls, and he’s about to pick up since he has this news; she’s a grandmother. For a moment he stares at the phone, and he realizes something. You’ve mentioned Ren the cat before and his mother knew. His mother fucking knew. That’s why you’re working with her, because his mother knows that she has a grandson.
He declines the call, instead he focuses on his son. Grabbing his tiny hand, and taking note of every crevice. He always swore that when he had a baby, he’d look at every finger and toe individually, and he’d count them over and over again. He can’t believe he missed that.
There’s a smile on Ren’s face as he looks at his father, finally meeting the man that he’s been waiting for.
“Granny!” Ren shouts when his grandmother comes to sight. Your mother, who happily walks in with food but drops the bag when she sees him. Satoru looks back at your mother, and it’s like she’s just seen a ghost. Satoru walks over to her, and wraps his arms around your mother.
She isn’t sure what to do as Satoru hugs her. This isn’t the same little kid that would come running to her after an injury, the man that hugs her is the father of her grandson. A man that’s left many unattended wounds in her daughter. Satoru pulls away, and goes back to his son.
Your mother looks at you, watching as you silently cry. It seems as if more tears stream down your face when Satoru asks, “So how old are you, buddy? Sorry for not knowing.”
Ren puts up four fingers, excitedly replying, “Four!”
“Nice to see he isn’t in pain anymore.” Your mother comments. Your hand holds onto Ren’s, and you rest your head on the empty space of the mattress again, listening to your son and his father talk.

Ren is taken in the morning, and Satoru assures him that he’ll be there right after surgery. Neither of you slept a wink last night, and you hope that while you wait you can sleep for an hour or so. You doubt you will though since you have a lot to talk about. So much to talk about.
When you’re left alone, you sit in silence for a minute. Both of you gather your thoughts. Until Satoru finally clears his throat, “So you faced me everyday like that? Like you weren’t hiding anything. You were planning on keeping quiet about my son.”
“I tried to tell you when I was pregnant.” You answer, and you take a deep breath. That’s not good enough. Not now, not when you’ve been seeing each other daily. “And then… Mrs. Gojo didn’t want me to tell you.”
“And why the hell did you listen to her?” Satoru slowly begins to see red. His own mother did this to him. He has no trouble believing you, it does seem like something his mother would do. “You had no problem looking me in the eye while hiding him.”
“She gave me an opportunity that would make my life easier, I would obviously listen to her.” You respond. “You started over with someone else, I feel like I’d ruin everything if I’d come out of nowhere with a child.”
“You don’t have to lie to me. You don’t care about that, do you? You’re just scared I’ll take Ren from you.” He says, and maybe Satoru remembers how you are.
“I struggled with him for so long, the last thing I need is for you to take him from me. You have no right to take him from me. I don’t care if you can financially support him better than me, he’s my son.” You get defensive, and Satoru’s hand goes over your own to reassure you. He squeezes it, feeling tears well up in his eyes again. He hates that this is how you think of him. It’s not unwarranted.
“And I won’t take him from you, but at the very least I deserved to know. I deserved to know I have a son.” He’s clearly upset, and his emotions reflect in his voice with every word that leaves his lips. “Do you know how hurt I am? You hid my own flesh and blood from me, you know better than anyone how badly I wanted to be a father.”
“I wanted to tell you, Satoru. I tried to tell you. But then I realized you had other priorities, and I understood that I didn’t need you by our side. And I’m sorry that it happened like this, but you’re partially at fault for the outcome.” You answer, standing up from your seat. You need a breath of fresh air and a shower. You begin to walk towards the door, and it opens before your hand goes to the doorknob. You’d be terrified of her at any other time, but not now. You take a deep breath,
“Mrs. Gojo… Your son is here to speak with you.”
Help Support Bean and Bill
Hey everyone. Unfortunately My fiance and I (Bill-l-s4cc) were involved in a car accident yesterday that was pretty traumatic. I will spare you all the details. Basically our car is so damaged and unrivaled, and will cost over 6k to repair and we need a rental car as well.. Besides making content our source of income is doordashing, so its safe to say we are in a tight spot.
If you could help in anyway, share or spare even 1 dollar to help, it would mean so much to us to help us get through this dark time.
