OK I'm not of these anons with the daddy kink, but I wonder if Izuku has some daddy issues :/ Officially, his father is just working abroad and he and his mother just decided that it would be better if she took care of Izuku without him, right? But we don't know the full story.. We only know that he has a fire quirk and that he works abroad. Could he be avoiding his family because he didn't want a son in the first place? Or is it because he doesn't like having a quirkless son? Angst headcanons!

Oooo yess angst. Hori says Deku’s dad will eventually be introduced! And a lot of people speculate that he’s either AFO, helping AFO or is a scientist who knows something more about quirks. Like the origin of the random first shining baby.

Some theories are that the doctor Deku saw as a kid was BSing in saying that Deku’s toe was the reason he didn’t have a quirk and that he was a weirdly rude doctor, and you can see him later on in the manga I think. Being a pediatrician would be the perfect way to steal quirks before children can access them. Thinking maybe either the doctor took his quirk or that his dad took it as an appeasement to AFO. Also one of the Nomu is predicted to be one of Deku’s childhood friends (Hori points out that the winged Nomu chose Deku for a reason and looks similar to his winged friend).

Deku’s relationship with his dad seems odd. No pics of him, never talks about him even when All Might becomes his father figure. Even his mom doesn’t say anything to call about their son getting into UA or congratulating him on the televised tournament. Like it doesn’t say he’s divorced or anything so it’s weird someone as emotional as Deku just doesn’t even think of him. We don’t see him even when Deku is 4 before even knowing he doesn’t have a quirk! It’s so weird! I’m really interested to see how Hori writes his dad.
