I don’t think you understand, I’ve been watching wilbur soot since 2019, when he would pull out his guitar at the end of streams and do covers and always say that his voice wasn’t great that night or that he was shit at singing live. I remember watching him sing the Squid Song and everyone going ‘wait actually he’s really good, hold on a second.’ I remember when niki told him that if she had to pick another career for him she would pick musician and he just about melted. I remember when ycgma dropped and twt worked so hard to get it trending and he didn’t even announce it or anything because he wanted it to be for the people alone. I remember when I’m in Love with an E-Girl dropped and it did so well and now I know that he had it shelved for so long and decided to release it on a whim even though he didn’t like it. I remember when he posted those two covers on his music channel in like the course of a week and everyone freaked out. I remember watching Your New Boyfriend climb the trending charts and stay there, watching everyone react, watching it become by far his most viewed video. I remember when he got so excited seeing there were tabs for it in rust. I remember back when his band was something he mentioned off hand a few times, and no one really quite took him seriously on that yet. I’m so fucking proud of him for this release (and the rest of his band obviously), because I know he’s wanted to make this kind of music for so long, and it’s so perfect for him, and everyone loves it, and that it was everything I expected but better, and I hope he gets to make more
