"you should get up."

you shift in bed. the curtains are shut; the light that leaks in around the edges is golden, a dripping yolk. you turn away from it.

"i'm tired, shin," you murmur. you tug the blanket in closer as you curl up like a pill bug.

the mattress dips next to you. a hand strokes over your hair.

"i think yer more than tired," kita says. "gettin' up will help."

you shift, burying your face into the downy softness of your pillow. "i can't," you say.

kita slips his hand under the pillow to find yours. he winds your fingers together, laces them with his.

"ya can," he says gently.

you shake your head.

he hums, stroking his thumb along your skin. "ya can," he says again. "you've done it before; you can do it again. i know ya can."

you turn over to look up at him. in the low light, his eyes have deepened to topaz, a sweet deep brown. he watches you for a moment.

you hear his house slippers hit the floor; before you can protest, he's slipped into the bed with you. he tugs you close, curves around you like a crescent moon.

"ten minutes," he says. "then we'll get up together. that sound okay?"

you press your face into the curve of his neck and taste the salt of his skin.

"i can try."

"that's fine," he says. "i'll be here until you can."

A night full of fun and celebration at your wedding, winding down to just a shared intimate moment between you and your newly wed husband, Kita Shinsuke. After your exhilarating marriage ceremony and the after party between your two families, you both are just absolutely exhausted but still running on adrenaline the moment you step inside your home.

Giggling as you both entered the door into your cozy little home. The lock being flicked the moment the door closed behind Kita as you skipped your way down to your shared bedroom. Contently placing down all of your items on the bedroom floor before changing into your robe to step into your bathroom. 

Flicking on the lights before looking closely at yourself in the mirror, your curls were all disheveled back into your hair’s original state. Brushing through your tangled loose curls in an attempt to smooth them out while you inspected your makeup. It was like you celebrated so hard your makeup was almost melting off, revealing your bare and raw skin underneath.

Your eye makeup was still in tact, but of course, smeared around. The eyeliner dissolved off your skin just like your foundation and concealer. Face looking like a hot pale mess, your lips were too. Drinking all the delicious liquids provided at your wedding, your lipstick being taken off sip by sip until your natural pale lips shown their true color.

Peering back into your reflection, you watch your husband Kita walk up from behind you. Slithering his arms wrapped in his fancy dress shirt around your shoulders, placing a sweet kiss on your exposed cheek.

“I need to remove my makeup so badly..” you cooed while tiredly rocking around in his comforting arms.

“Here, let me” Kita’s voice resonating in your skin.

Removing his embrace from your shoulders, opening the cabinet door to grab the makeup remover along with a few cotton pads. His fingers unscrewing the makeup remover bottle cap to distribute the substance upon the cotton.

Closing your eyes and letting the cold and wet piece of cotton rub combat against your warm skin, drowsiness washing upon your heavy eyelids. His fingers working delicately on your skin, almost like he was casting a spell on you to fall asleep.

“Thank you, Shinsuke” you whispered out in the lowest volume you could ever manage when you felt the cotton pad disappear from the surface of your damp skin, followed by the sound of the tap running down the facet.

Washing his hands, fighting against your eyes to look at Kita. A gentle smile curling on his lips as he turned off the sink and wiped his hands on a towel. Leaning down to head level and placing a kiss on your pursed lips.

“Love you,” leaning down to head level and kissing your pursed parted lips.

shrugging off your coat in the entryway as the front door clicks shut, you trail off as your gaze finds your boyfriend leaning heavily against the kitchen counter, a troubled look on his face.

"hajime, what's wrong?"

he glances up at you, holding up a device with a plastic handle and a thin metal stick protruding out of it.

"this came in the mail today," he says slowly.

coming to stand beside him, you nod. "yeah, i ordered it. oh no, wait, did you get stuck talking to the really weird delivery guy again for an hour?"

hajime huffs, "no, i—"

he presses the button on the end of the device, and it begins to vibrate.

you blink.

"did you put batteries in it for me?"

he stares at you pointedly before looking back down at the object in his hands. "baby, look. you know i'm always up for anything you want to try—"

you clap a hand over your mouth.

he presses the button again, letting the metal end vibrate menacingly against the marble countertop.

"—i will literally do anything for you. but this...this looks like a fucking torture device for my dick."

he stares at you helplessly as you burst into laughter, crossing his arms as he waits for you to wipe the tears from the corners of your eyes, your chest heaving.

"haji—"

"like i don't think this is legal—"

"HAJIME, IT'S A MILK FROTHER."

his eyes go even wider.

"FOR. COFFEE." you add, choking out another laugh.
