Ninjago Focus Season Shuffle Challenge!

Ayo fellow ninjago fans, I’ve got an AU challenge for you! Shuffle the focus ninja of any season (this is specifically for the WildBrain seasons, aka Season 11 onwards, but feel free to do this with prior seasons too if you feel inspired!) and see what happens. 

The WildBrain specific challenge is as follows: 

Original Focus Order:

Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu (Fire Chapter) = Kai

Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu (Ice Chapter) = Zane

Prime Empire = Jay

Master of The Mountain = Cole

The Island / Seabound = Nya

Crystalized = Lloyd

Take Seasons 11-15/16 (Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu Part 1 & 2, Prime Empire, Master of the Mountain, The Island/Seabound, and Crystalized) and change the focus ninja (you can also edit the season as you like to match, but try to keep some of the core elements/story beats). You can reply as a reblog (and if you rather post it yourself, please tag me! I’d love to see other ideas!) and include was much or little detail as you’d like. 

If you want, you can also change the season order a bit (and write how they affect each other), or keep it in the original order!

Don’t know if there’s any specific types or not / if they have to be character-centric, but I just searched through my bookmarks for some favourites one-shots & short fics (maybe I’ll make another post with longer fic recommendations if people want)

“The Venomari Venom Incident”, one-shot, 10,012 words -- SPBNR-inspired work (which is a longer but amazing fic) ft. show Kai in the movieverse getting hit by venomari venom at school before a Garmalarm. Hilariously crack-y

“powersurge”, (6 chapters, completed) 9,488 words -- another interesting take on moments with large bursts of elemental power

“And the Vocab Word of the Day Is...” , one-shot, 2,547 words -- a young Lloyd teaches an innocent Zane to swear, absolutely hilarious

“For When You Need Love” , one-shot, 7,605 words -- so much platonic found family kisses, very sweet

“Home Is Where You Are” , one-shot, 3,937 words -- movieverse Morro taking care of his younger cousin

“When your love rival is a frog” , (3 chapters, completed), 17,630 words -- movie plasma, the funniest ship fic I’ve ever read in which Kai loses to a frog

“Oh, haven’t you heard?” , one-shot, 1,775 words -- alternative movieverse Lloyd where nobody knows a child of Garmadon exists and a Buzzfeed Unsolved conspiracy is set

“Habits of Home(lessness)” , (6 chapters, completed), 6,823 words -- 5-times the squad worry Jay with their survival skills/habits and one time he got it explained

“Cool Down” , one-shot, 4,741 words -- Zane gives Kai hugs to cool down from elemental power overloads

“Observational Astronomy”, one-shot, 2,495 words -- Soulmate (platonic, family) identifying marks in the shape of a constellation tattoo on your chest

“Those Linked By Destiny”, (5 chapters, completed), 19,993 words -- how the movieverse Ninjaforce met

Ninjago Season 1: Episode 2: Home

Old man hears fighting noises and nearly gives himself a heart attack only to find his students playing viddy games and eating pizza actually training. White pulls big brain gamer move and freezes the entire gaming course, but the other three get salty they just got trounced and complain for old man to “White op please nerf”. They think he’s strange (rude). The best character shows up and hands them the mail. Red gets fan-letters (somehow), Blue gets home (roll credits) letters, and Black gets a big slab of unidentified meat. White gets no mail because he is lonely and has no family. For some reason neither Red (also an orphan) or Black (hates his dad and mom’s dead) comment and relate.

Meanwhile smol unsupervised parentless homeless gremlin child is ordering funky snake men to build him a treehouse. Why the child thinks snakes that lived underground in a frozen wastelands know how to build treehouses is beyond me but their construction prowess is surprisingly sound. Snakes want their funky magic stick back from the ninja but big snake man who saw his reflection says they need to build the treehouse. Snake general is salty.

White cooks amazing meal but because he is wearing a pink apron (icon) the others laugh in a really mean way. They better have bought him a new apron after. White is confused but they start a food fight because none of them appreciate the amount of work White put into cooking. Fine. Let them all get poisoned by Black.

White takes out trash later and sees Birb. Birb do funky dance. White do funky dance back. White follow Birb into forest and sees big treehouse. White leads Blue, Black, and Red to treehouse. Red thinks they can cut it down. They do- mostly. Black is actually a sleeper agent and attacks them. Old man arrives and plays a song and everything is okay.

It is not.

The snakes burn down empty monastery and the squad (rude!!) blames White. White flies away. Good for him. 

The snake leader loses his job after getting Fang-Kwon-Do’d. Snake general is new snake leader. He loses his legs but gets a cool stick and tail. Child is kicked out but he is now Dora the Explorer and has a map.

Squad is struggling with no shelter or food. They feel bad for how they treated White (finally!). White flies back. White was actually following Birb this whole time and found cool ship in the desert. They have a new home now. They party and have another food fight as if they didn’t just have little to no food. Gremlin child passes by desert ship and feels sad but keeps walking because he is definitely evil.

Okay Ninjago fandom, let’s see if we can play a game.

I’m going to briefly summarise the plot of of the first pilot episode in a comedic way, and the next person must do the same for the next episode. Each person must check the reblogs to so they can do the most recent episode, and we should just have a chain of simplified Ninjago episodes. You are allowed to reblog this multiple times. I’ll start:

Ninjago Pilots: Episode 1 - Way of the Ninja

Local independent business owner, Kai, gets heckled by an old man and then biker skeletons show up and kidnap Kai’s sister for no reason. The old man tells Kai that the skeletons work for his evil brother who he pushed into a hole once, and then he promises to teach Kai the art of spinning real fast. However Kai only learns the art of spilling the tea. Then Kai gets attacked by ninja and must fight them with his toothbrush!

Crystalized AU Idea - Vessel AU

Currently vibing with thoughts for a Crystalized AU (I’ll put it under the cut just in case the spoiler tags don’t work), feel free to send asks or use this as a prompt (just please tag me) or reblog and add your own ideas (just remember to tag spoilers!)

So the Crystal King is the vessel body of the Overlord, right?

...what if the ritual wasn’t to summon him, but to prep a new vessel host? One that’s quite familiar to us?

Option 1) Lloyd

In this version of the AU, the kidnapped Lloyd gets prepped for the ritual, and the Overlord returns possessing the hero that once vanquished him. Lloyd gets Morro trauma re-hashed, his family (who have been tearing out their hair looking for him) finally find him only for him to be possessed by the hecking OVERLORD, and Garmadon gets to have a fun reversal parallel to Season 2 in him calling for his son to fight off the Overlord.

Also Lloyd being alone when it happens, alone and scared and suddenly every bit the kid/younger teen he should be if the tea hadn’t happened, and he can do nothing to stop the Overlord from gaining the powers of Energy and the oni/dragon

Option 2) Wu

Not too many thoughts here, just the fun parallel of Wu being possessed like his brother was in S2, some of Wu’s dragon genes coming out

Option 3) Pixal

90% likely this results in a future where the Overlord wins. The other 10% he’s defeated in 5 minutes by Pixal kicking him out.

Option 4) the OG4 (Kai, Jay, Cole, AND Zane)

Four for the price of one (and my personal favourite of the bunch)! Harumi uses Lloyd to lure the four into a trap and capture them, then use them & their golden weapons in the ritual. The Overlord possesses all four at once (a 1 mind 4 bodies deal), with crystals and glowing purple eyes and slight draconic/later possibly centaur features. Sometimes just one talks for all, sometimes all four talk in sync, and sometimes one starts a sentence and the other finishes it (plus a fun mix of their original voice and the Overlord’s voice). They wield the crystalized version of the golden weapons and all their elemental powers change slightly to match the crystal theme (purple fire, purple lightning, crystal earth, and crystal ice).

The Council is half infuriated over having to bow to the four ninja, half smug over having bested them in revenge with the Overlord in control of them now. There are a few incidents where they see or hear them and nearly attack before remembering.

Also because the Overlord now has his own powers + the four elements of creation, Nya is speedrunning getting her powers back to save them. AND we get a new and improved version of the Replacement Ninja (including but not limited to: Pixal, Echo, Ronin, Fugidove, Akita, Okino & Blazey, Vania & the Upplies, and Benthomaar), and even Morro gets summoned from the Departed Realm because since he has knowledge on possessing people, he possibly has knowledge on how to UNpossess people.

No, you know what- I’m going to go back and count how many times (in the official minifigures, at least) Zane has at least one tit out

Have a bonus Echo continuing the nindroid trend before we start-

The Zanes will be under the cut because there are many, plus minor Crystalized (only the gi) spoiler. For those that wish to avoid that- the answer is (within the official minifigures, not counting additional designs in the magazines, comics, show, and other sources that don’t have figures), Zane has had at least one tit showing a total of 9 times (if you include NRG and Airjitzu has half a point each and don’t count Fusion - if you count none, then 8 times, if you count all as a point each, then 11 times)

0.5 = Gonna count this one as a half because none of them appear to have a gi at all, but you could argue it’s over their cloths

1.5 = One of the first times ever (probably first in canon), we stan a King

2.5 = Back from the dead and he already has one tit out

3 = Same as with NRG, going to count this as half a point because you can argue it’s over the clothes but also argue that’s his skin

4 = Zane was actually locked up in Skybound for titty crimes

Not counting this one but it deserves an honourable mention

5 = The infamous Island tit-out from the original post reference

6 = And you thought the Legacy waves wouldn’t sneak one in- the tit always manages to sneak out

7 = The infamous reverse crop top scuba gear

8 = the Core waves manage to sneak in a tit window after all

9 = And one more sneaky tit out for the road
