Headcanons: Proposal to their S/O (Neji x Reader)

A/N: I haven’t posted a lot of my writing and the Kakashi fic chapter isn’t ready yet (yes you’re allowed to hate me). I promised these a while back, and now I’m deeply crushing on Neji, so have a romantic proposal night with him. I hope you enjoy them <3 Be Kind.

Neji’s Proposal

-Neji wasn’t a marriage type of guy

-at least he thought so, until he met you.

-Before he’d even asked you out on a date, he even found himself daydreaming about slipping the Hyuuga heirloom ring on your finger

-When you started dating, though, he wanted you to be the one bring up the conversation on marriage, he wouldn’t do anything until you felt ready.

-A good 2 years into your relationship, you started talking about formalizing things, wanting to raise a family and all those things, and Neji got SO EXCITED

-Like he was playing it cool on the outside, being the composed guy he is, but internally?

-He’s screaming, having a party, blasting different songs and ugly dancing inside his head. You’d never notice though.

-He starts planning the proposal as soon as he knows you’d like to get married.

-The set-up is beautiful

-He arranges a picnic under the stars, just outside of the village

-He tells you it’s just another date, but you feel his hands slightly tremble when you’re walking through the forest, and you know something’s off because Neji is not a nervous person.

-He smells so good that night, a bit like fresh rosemary.

-When you see the picnic, ah you know what you came here for, but you pretend you don’t because you don’t want to ruin it for him.

-Neji is a bit stiff, but you go along with the date until he feels more relaxed. You start making jokes, help him light the candles, open the sake bottle, and remind him that he’s the most loved person in the shinobi world.

-He’d thought he’d wait until the end of the picnic to pop the question, but when he sees you smile as a shooting star passes, he decides to ask then and there

-“Y/N, I’ve known I want to marry you since I first saw you. Now I want to know, would you marry me?”

-His Byakugan eyes look beautifully lilac, and hypnotize you

-A rush of warmth and love passes through you, that you can’t reply with words, you just kiss him deeply and afterwards, nod with a smile

-He slips a beautiful silver ring with a lilac stone to match his eyes into your finger, and you can’t wait to be Y/N Hyuga.

-You’re the destiny he chose.

You loved walking through the peaceful streets of Konoha. It was a short moment of peace you often didn’t get to experience as a ninja and you relished in it. Even more so when you were joined by your boyfriend, Neji. 

Leaning against Neji, you loved the way his arm clasped around your waist. It wasn’t very often that the boy showed affection, so you appreciated what little you got and when you got it. Simply having him hold you against himself made you melt.

“Neji?” You questioned, after a few moments of silence. Neji hummed softly, inclining his head slightly down in your direction as a silent confirmation that he’d hear you. You smiled brightly up at him, eyes shining. “Why are you dating me?”

The question was definitely odd, so it was no surprised when Neji paused in response, and he pulled away from you. His eyes narrowed just a bit in utter bafflement, silently asking you why you’d ask such a blunt question such as that one.

“Well,” you begun, suddenly nervous. “It’s just i’m so different than you. You are more in control of your feelings, where as I can barely control mine. I basically let them control me. Not to mention i’m very clingy, and loud. And I know how naive I can be… I sometimes barely understand what people are telling me…” You trailed off, cheeks red in embarrassment.

You were pleasantly surprised when you felt Neji’s hand grab ahold of your chin, bringing your attention up and onto his eyes. He had a soft smile on his lips, as if he knew something you didn’t. “Y/N,” he begun, voice as soft as ever.

“Yeah?” You whispered.

“Those are the exact reasons why i’m dating you.” Neji explained, surprising. “Why I care for you.”

“Wh-What?” You questioned, eyes wide. “But… but those are such bad tra-”

“No,” he shook his head, his hair moving with his movements. “Those are wonderful traits and that’s what drew me to you. I don’t care if you need a little bit more attention that someone else might need. Or you constantly need reassurance of my love for you. Because I will constantly provide these things as long as you’ll let me.”

His words were sweet and warmed your heart beyond belief. But you couldn’t help but focus on one word; “love?”

Neji’s eyes widened a fraction, realizing in that moment what he’d said. But after a moment, he calmed visibly. “Yes,” he nodded, swiping his thumb over you cheek. “Love.”

You smiled, nodding. “I’m so glad.”

( @chaostheoryy ) Request: Hope you don’t mind me swooping in to request another Kiba X Reader… 👀 How about one where the reader finds an injured wolf pup (or wolf-dog like Kuromaru)? Seeing as they aren’t actually a member of the Inuzuka clan and have never trained a canine partner, the reader enlists Kiba’s help. While Akamaru and the pup bond, so do Kiba and the reader.

You had absolutely no idea what you were doing. No idea.

You barely knew how to take care of yourself, let alone a small wolf pup that was starving because of how long it’d been left on his own. You literally had no idea. But when you saw him - you determined the pup was a male pretty quickly - and saw how alone he looked, you couldn’t just leave him there. Alone.

Even if he was a wolf and wolves weren’t really pets. But in this world, nothing was really all that normal - so you pushed aside that thought. This pup was injured and alone and no one was going to take care of him, so that responsibility fell on your shoulders in return.

Only, and you’ve mentioned it a few times now, you had no idea how to take care of such a young puppy. 

So, you did the only thing you could think of - talk to the one man you knew that would know everything about taking care of a dog, or something like a dog. And that was Kiba Inuzuka.

Given that you lived in the same village as him and you two were close friends, it didn’t take long for you to find him at his house. It was quite early in the morning too, but any guilt you would’ve felt was lost at the sound of the young wolf whining and fidgeting in your arms. You needed Kiba - now.

After a good minute of your repetitive knocking, the door swung open to reveal a rather disgruntled looking Kiba. His hair was disheveled, meaning that he’d just woken up from slumber and he was in nothing more than pair of sweats hanging low on his hips. Needless to say he looked rather attractive, and normally that thought would’ve passed through your mind if you’d seen Kiba in this state any other time but now.

When the door first open, Kiba’s mouth was wide open, ready to yell any frustrated and annoyed insult he could throw at the person who’d so rudely awoken him from his sleep. But the moment his eyes fell on you and the small little creature in your arms, all shouts of indignation fell silent.

“Y-Y/N?”

Taking a deep breath, you did your best not to cry. “Kiba,” you squeaked, “I need your help.”

Kiba stepped aside wordlessly, letting you step by him to which you graciously accepted. Once you were past him and out of the morning cold, Kiba turned to you with those utterly confused and baffled eyes once again. “Y/N, it’s four in the morning. What the hell is happening? And why do you have a dog in your arms?”

“It’s a wolf,” you corrected, despite yourself. “And I found him in the woods. I was returning from a mission when I found him. He was howling out in pain and he looked awfully skinny - I knew I couldn’t just leave him there so I picked him up. A half hour later I realized I have literally no idea how to care for a animal, let alone a pup! Oh Kami, please, Kiba you have to help me!”

Kiba took quick strides forward, obviously not used to seeing you in such a frazzled state. Normally you were a lot more composed and collected, and given the fact that you were a high-ranking ninja, you had to keep a composed face. But right now… Kiba had never seen you such a way.

“Calm down,” Kiba soothed, grabbing ahold of your shoulders. “I’ll help you, of course I will.”

A smile broke out on your lips as you let out a breath of relief. “Thank you, Kiba!”

And true to his word, Kiba did help you.

After your short conversation, Kiba took the small little guy from your arms and got him some food. You guys chatted as you watched the pup finally get some food in him and after that, Kiba helped you give him a bath, brush his fur nice and neatly and set him down in one of Akamaru’s old beds to sleep. Needless to say, the poor little guy was exhausted.

Somewhere along the way Akamaru had woken up and joined the two of you, and you’d watched with a happy smile as the older dog took the pup under his wing. Even now, as you sat back on Kiba’s couch, your eyes were stuck on the two figures of Akamaru and your little pup, cuddling against one another. It was truly an adorable sight.

“So what are you gonna name him?” 

Kiba’s voice pulled you from your small musings, and with a few blinks of the eye you turned your attention on him. “Hmm?”

“The pup,” Kiba begin, nodding his head towards the small little guy. “What are you gonna name him?”

“Oh,” you bit your lip, “I hadn’t really thought about that.”

“Well, you’re gonna keep him, right?”

The worry that laced Kiba’s voice made you unable to deny his wish. “Of course,” you nodded with a small smile. “I guess I just hadn’t thought that far ahead. As I said… I don’t really know how to take care of a pet…”

Kiba chuckled, baffling you. “First step, name the little guy.” Kiba grinned your way and you couldn’t help but feel your heart flutter a little at his smile. At your continuous staring, Kiba’s smile seemed to falter just a tad bit and his hand reached out to grasp yours. You chose to ignore the way your heart beat rapidly sped up. 

“I know you’re nervous Y/N,” Kiba begun. “Taking care of another is nervous. But hey, if a guy like me can do it, I know you can do it.”

You smiled lightly, feeling your cheeks heat up at his words.

“And, i’ll help you with any thing you need along the way.”

Squeezing his hand, you looked up at Kiba through the early morning light and lean forward slightly, unsure of your actions. Kiba seemed to notice your change in behaviour and you notice his body grow alarmingly still as you leaned close. Suddenly afraid that your actions were too much for him, you moved to lean away but Kiba’s hand caught your cheek, pulling you against him.

Before you knew it, your lips were against his in a messy, sloppy but oh-so-wonderful kiss.

When you pulled away, you smiled dazzedly up at Kiba. “I know what you can help me with first.”

Kiba smirked, raising a brow. “Oh yeah?”

You nodded, cuddling into him. “Naming him.”

Kiba chuckled and you felt it rumble against your chest. “I like Aki.”

“Like autumn?”

Kiba nodded and you smiled, nodding your head. “Okay then, Aki.”

so our boy kakashi is a busy busy man

as for waking up in the morning, I feel as being one of the best shinobi in the village and a sensai, out of habit he tends to wake up early

Im talking early but not toooo early, like around 7 ish, pushing 6:30 maybe

if we’re really pushing it, the earliest being 4:30 but since you two have gotten together he’s able to sleep a little longer and easier

but he really can’t help it, his body clock has just become so accustomed to it

despite him being late all the damn time…..we’ll get into that later…..

one of the downsides to it tho is that once he’s awake, it’s hard for him to fall asleep, a very rare occurrence if u will

usually he just lays in bed, either beside you or just holding you, taking sometime to himself to appreciate you and all ur glory

one of the reasons he’s also so late for everything…..

he seriously can’t believe that ur a part of his life, his future, and he doesn’t ever want that to change

he’ll even brush ur hair out of her face, give you forehead kisses every now and then

if he has to leave for training or something important, he most definitely feels a little guilty leaving you in bed by yourself

despite laying with you in bed waaayyyy longer than he should’ve if he wanted to get where he was supposed to be on time

so to make up for he makes you some breakfast and makes it look all cute n shiiii

omg AND he leaves a cute little note with it
