hi this did fairly okay on instagram so i'll post it here

oh my hand slipped do you guys think im cool still

i genuinely didnt think id end up this invested in the storyline of this show but its grown on me

petrigrof thoughts and emotional permanence (mostly simon here still thinking abt betty) and also its 87% projection from me

but im not a psychologist. ive never taken a psych class and so lol im thinking in the abstract

so simon obviously has a low self image and poor self esteem right

and this isn't a recent thing because he was like this before. Like this cut line where he literally asks betty if this is a trick (maybe because he has been before, or maybe because he can't imagine someone showing a genuine interest in him)

but also i think of another display of simon's insecurity pre fully transforming into ice king

After betty disappears when he jumps to the conclusion that since betty "left him" she didn't love him anymore.

Which in hindsight sounds like an assumption.

If your fiance presumably of a while disappears are you going to assume that

a) something might have happened to them to make them literally vanish from the earth and I dunno look for them or file a missing persons report or something

or b) they obviously disappeared because you said something wrong and now they left you and dont love you anymore!!!!

Emotional Permanence: is being able to understand your loved ones still love and care about you even when you or they aren't there or telling you this explicitly

To assume the second she leaves that means she stopped loving him as opposed to literally any other logical conclusion is part of his own insecurity that was always there. Its also unintentionally because he has a hard time trusting others to keep thinking about him even when hes not there.
