Billy Hargrove x Reader. (pure fluff) Request:@zero-spacee Summary: Y/N has horrible nightmares about BIlly dying and Billy comforts her

It had been 2 months. Two long and hard months after the events of summer. The worst summer in Yn's life. When her life had turned upside down. Literally. It had scarred her, scared her, and made her cling to her boyfriend. Billy, Who had barely survived the battle in the mall, Sometimes she woke up. Terrified. Her mind is hazy with sleep making her believe things that weren't real. She was scared to go to sleep. She was scared of being alone. And so it was that Billy convinced her to move in with him and Max.

Yn looked up from the place where she was laying her head on her chest as they were in his bedroom one night. After she had called Billy terrified to pick her up from her house.

"Really?" She asked quietly looking down at him in the dim light of his room.

"Sure, you can stay, and honestly. I feel better if you were here" he replied softly brushing a stray hair from her face and looking at her with soft eyes, Yn realized that he too was still struggling with nightmares but wouldn't admit it.

"What about Max?"

"Don't worry about her babe. She already loves you. Besides, she would feel better if you were here too. She won't admit it but she kind of needs some...sisterly figure?"

"Doesn't she have El for that?"

"How about I just want you to be here and I don't care if Max likes it?" He suggested with a small smirk.

Yn gave him a playful deadpan expression "That is rude.."

Billy ran a hand down her back and pulled her close to him again pressing a kiss to her temple "Stay" he whispered.

Yn rested close against him wrapping her arms around his torso "Always" she murmured back.

And that was how Yn ended up living with Billy and Max. Max had been a little reluctant to it but then warmed up to her. But one thing that didn't change, even though they diminished was the nightmares. She woke up at night screaming and crying and Billy sometimes had to hold her for hours for her to fall asleep again finally. She wasn't the only one. Once she woke up at night because of crying. And she slipped out of Billy's room to find Max trashing in her bed. Yn had stayed with her the whole night soothing the younger girl. Since then she and Max had grown closer.

Even through it, Billy didn't exactly show when he had nightmares. Though sometimes Yn woke up to him holding onto her tightly, tighter than usual, as he slept. Yn would run her hands through his hair absentmindedly through the night. But didn't wake him up, knowing it would hurt his pride if he knew that she had seen him in such a vulnerable state.

It was messy and somehow complicated how they lived. But the 3 of them managed. And everything went smoothly by.

One morning though Yn woke up from a night of nightmares, she reached her hand to the side of the bed Billy slept in but found it cold and empty, she sat up rubbing her eyes from sleep and her nightmares rushed back.

her mind was still clouded with sleep and she started shaking and tears pooled in her eyes, what if Billy was dead? what if it was true? sobs shook her body and she tucked her knees into her chest hiding her face in them. "he's dead, he's dead" she repeated through sobs.

Max who was ready to go to school already, knocked on the door of the room and paused when she heard cries, she immediately opened the door of the room and rushed to Y/N's side.

"Y/N what's wrong?" she asked taking the older girl by the shoulders with green eyes searching her teary face.

"he's dead" Y/n cried "he's dead Max, he's dead" she repeated again and again.

Max froze before she hugged her trying to comfort her and calm her down, trying to soothe her.

"Y/N he isn't dead" Max repeated again and again but Y/N was too into crying to understand the words and kept crying.

Billy who had gone out for a run early in the morning to clear his head from the nightmares that plagued his sleep arrived home, and his heartbeat sped up when he heard crying, he rushed to the room he shared with Y/N and paused at the door to see his crying girlfriend and his little sister trying to comfort her, his feet carried him to her side and he knelt by her side.

"Y/N what's wrong?" he asked worried his eyes searching her form for any visual injury.

Y/N lifted her teary face to see him and a choked sob left her and she flung her arms around his neck burying her face into his shoulder "I thought you were dead" she said between tears.

A small relieved sigh left Billy once he realized it had only been a nightmare that scared her and nothing else, he took her in his arms. "she's ok, you can go to school" he told Max.

Max hesitated for a moment before she nodded and left the room.

Billy sat down on the edge of the bed with Y/N in his arms, he ran a hand comfortingly up and down her back. he kissed the side of her temple. "it's fine baby I'm here" he told her softly.

It took a long while for Y/N to calm down, but Billy held her all along, only moving to sit back against the headboard of the bed Y/N tucked in his chest clinging to him. Once she was calm enough she just lay there tracing a random pattern in Billy's arm.

"where were you?" Yn asked quietly

"I was taking a run around the block" Billy answered.

"Oh..." was all that Y/N replied

"I'm sorry" she added quietly after a while.

Billy frowned and looked down at her "For what?" he asked gently.

"For being so...for not being able to handle myself, for not being able to control my emotions, for not-"

Billy shushed her before she could keep going "Y/N it's ok, I love you" he told her pushing a few strands away from her face and kissing her forehead. "I'm right here. I'll always be right here"

Y/N looked at his grey eyes "Promise?"

"Promise" Billy replied putting a hand on the side of her face "Always" he whispered and then leaned his head down to press his lips softly against hers.

Y/N sighed softly against the kiss and kissed him back tilting her head up to kiss him better.

Billy parted the kiss and pressed a kiss at the tip of her nose, then kissed the side of her neck. his mouth traveled up to her ear "Always" he whispered again, making a shiver run down Y/N's spine.
