It would be ideal to have Anne think about The Dianne friendship from Diana's perspective and both of them make up before Diana leaves for Paris(?) Also, touch upon Anne's insecurities about not being good enough and Diana's prejudices and fear of societal backlash would be awesome.

Buut... What-if Anne contemplates on all of this but still can't think of how to talk with Diana. Then, the Ball(?)/ Event arrives and They still Haven't talked because both of them think that the other is still angry and hurt.

Then, Anne runs into Winnie and she explains to her, in thorough detail about Diana's POV since she too comes from a wealthy family and all. Meanwhile, Diana meets with Gilbert and he just rambles about Anne on how unique she is and how much he adores her. Diana can't help but think of when Anne went full romantic and she's reminded how much she ardently loves her Bosom friend.

And they both run towards each other and hug without saying anything. And the world makes sense again.

Idk, this is wishful thinking since I've desperately wanted Anne and Winnie to bond, and well Diana and Gilbert are buddies already in my mind lol.
