from the lebanese perspective at least it feels like lebanon and the diaspora + surrounding countries have been standing on the edge of a cliff waiting for this moment to happen for months, just wondering when. the wondering for everyone is a form of torture in itself. terrified of all-out war.

this may surprise some of y’all non-arabs but we don’t actually love war and blowing each other up isn’t something arabs “just do,” it’s not normal. we’re not used to it and we never will be because it’s not fucking normal.
