To put it very bluntly.
You will always make a better impact helping people who need it than trying to hurt people you think deserve it.
Saw that you’re interested in Jewish books! I have to recommend At the Mercy of Strangers by Suzanne Loebl as a story of living on the edges of the Shoah.
Thank you for the recommendation!
I'm older so the books my schools used to teach the Shoah were not the usual fare nowadays (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas was published five years after I graduated from high school). Still, though, I haven't heard of this one yet and I'm adding it to my shopping list!

Dating from the 14th or as early as the 13th century, the medieval synagogue in Maribor, Slovenia is one of the few surviving medieval synagogues in Europe.

Here, have one of many, many times my torbie kitten forgot how to put her tongue back into her mouth
Straight up not having a good time right now. If you want to help, silly cat pics are greatly appreciated.
List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who reblogged from you!
Hi @loki-god-of-mischief-13! I do as I am asked!
I'm going to be extremely literal here and interpret "things" as being objects/actions, not people or other animals. Otherwise all five would be my wife and the names of all my pets, lol
Cleaning. I know, but consider: the moment when I set my outdoor broom down, look over my terrace garden, and nod to myself when I don't see any dog hair or stains on the floor tiles, is delightful.
Taking long walks on clear days to spot plants or photograph the mountains
Stargazing, even if nothing 'special' is going on in the sky
Everything about owning vinyl records. Cleaning old records feels like an ancient ritual; discovering if the vinyl plays cleanly is exciting. The music sounds better (even if it's a psychological trick, which I don't think it is). Finding albums you didn't expect to see a pressing of at an antique shop. Finding albums that don't exist anymore.
Plants aren't exactly "things", but gardening. I have at least 40 potted plants spread out through my home. Most of them are gifts from my wife, gifts from elderly folks who couldn't care for them anymore, succulent cuttings, and rescue plants people dumped by the dumpsters. I think it's morally good to be surrounded by living things.
