day 5 of taishiro week - bad connection

yeah I know the last scene didn’t happen. I’m fixing it. @ tri Koushiro has feelings dammit. let him cry

even before he’s appointed leader, Taichi doesn’t take letting people down well (Skullgreymon guilt, Sora: Etemon Arc). He’s still able to interact with most members of his team casually because he sees them as people like him: who struggle, who have flaws (one thing that helps him connect with Yamato super fast despite butting heads all the time). He probably feels better about making decisions when it’s people he sees as like him that trust him, because at least he knows they’re flawed together.

Then there’s people he puts on a pedestal (people he sees as Better). Hikari is obvious, but it’s also clear that he trusts Koushiro in a way he doesn’t with the others (and he’s never privy to Kou’s internal crisis in adventure). He seems more careful with the way he interacts with both of them when he’s not goofing around, and always seems more reckless / less sure of himself when they’re at stake (ep 21 is a big one for both, and so is the Piedmon fight). It’s probably no coincidence that these are the two people that also see him at his worst, and hold no grudge towards him for it. He doesn’t know how to treat them as people Like Him. He probably will push them away to avoid being that person again. Probably doesn’t see that he will hurt them more in doing so.

I’ve been working on a project for a few days now where all the DR1 kids spin around in circles (showing a view from the front, sides, and back of one character each). I’ll put up a full video of this soon, but for now, I’ll upload these in batches, independently of that post.
