yeah maybe just avoid all food with chicken in it in the united states for a bit...just until they figure out all of who is in possession of the listeria chicken (also includes a lesser amount of beef and maybe other meat)
in the studio. straight up “doing it”. and by “it”, haha, well. let’s justr say. My paintink
antizionist jews stop making every jewish holy day about palestine and how evil you think other jews are for NOT making it about palestine when it has literally nothing to do with the holy day challenge
This is a reminder for myself and other observant Jews:
Stop feeling guilty every time you ask for an accommodation at work. They’re literally obligated to give it to you because if they didn’t they’d be denying your freedom of religion. If they’re mad you can’t work on Shabbos, that’s not your problem. Don’t feel ashamed to advocate for yourself. Hashem is the most important ❤️
the pink and purple breast cancer + domestic violence awareness cop cars in my city. like it’s cool! it’s great! love that they’re bringing awareness! that being said-
everyones got a car that instantly gives them psychic damage when seeing it
"Do you support Israel?"
I don't know - what do you mean by "support Israel"?
Do I support Israel's current war in Gaza? No.
Do I support Israel's right to get its citizens back? Yes.
Do I support Israel's settlements in the West Bank? No.
Do I support Israel's right to exist? Yes.
Do I support Israel's current government and leaders? No.
Do I support Israel's right to defend itself? Yes.
So I dunno, do I "support" Israel or not? What about Palestine?
Do I support reparations for Palestinians in the West Bank? Yes.
Do I support Hamas? No.
Do I support Palestinians in Gaza being free from war? Yes.
Do I support Hamas' violence against Israeli citizens? No.
Do I support Palestine's right to exist? Yes.
And then there's this...
Do I support the destruction of Israel? No.
Do I support the destruction of Palestine? No.
Do I support a world where Israelis don't fear death? Yes.
Do I support a world where Palestinians don't fear death? Yes.
The only way to achieve actual peace in the region is to support peace between Israel and Palestine. You cannot get this if you destroy Israel OR Palestine.
oh you think you're soooo fucking smart. with your fucking convoluted pretentious sentences
It's not good enough to just say antisemitism won't be tolerated in your pro Palestinian activism. You have to actually do the work to unpack shit and stop being antisemitic and so many people in leftist spaces need to listen and hear that right now.
The jews after Jom Kippur
four jews in a room bitching (break between Shacharit and Ne’ilah and we were 140 miles from home so we just hung out in an empty room)
the intentional or unintentional emission of semen outside of permitted sexual contact (so interfaith, premarital, anal, and masturbation all fall outside of permitted sexual contact**) is referred to as Zera Levatala. sure, we know now that semen is produced from puberty until death and may believe it’s not a “waste”, but that’s projecting 5785 ideals, morals, and understandings onto biblical verses!
**please note that i am a queer person with a gentile partner who i love very much. so this isn’t me saying those things are wrong, just that halacha says they are not permitted.
Male sex - is being gay a sin?
I've already saw a couple of those videos on my fyp, and they annoy me a little, especially the comments.
A little preface:
As we know, the original texts of the Tanakh (old testament) were written in Hebrew.
When the Romans ruled over judea, Jesus started a new current in Judaism, which became Christianity after he died.
His followers spread their beliefs, and romans became Christiana as well.
So, one if the first thing they did was to translate the Tanakh to Latin, and then years later to other languages as they continued with the Crusades.
Now, what's bothers me the most about those posts is that they say the mistranslation caused the verse to be "a man shall not lay with another man" instead of "a man shall not lay with a boy" (meaning is was supposedly meant to be about pedophilia and not homosexuality).
The this, that in the original text there nothing about a boy.
"וְאֶ֨ת־זָכָ֔ר לֹ֥א תִשְׁכַּ֖ב מִשְׁכְּבֵ֣י אִשָּׁ֑ה תּוֹעֵבָ֖ה הִֽוא׃" {ויקרא, י"ח, כ"ב}
"And with a male you shall not lie the lyings of a woman; it is an abomination." {Translation - Sefaria, Rabbi Shraga Silvershtein}
Nothing about a boy, nothing about a teenager {נער - sometime interpret as a young male, even if he's 30}.
If we take the verse very literally, it means that a males aren't allowed to have Anal sex with eachother.
Tho, the interpretation that it's about pedophilia, didn't came first from Christians.
[יא] "ואיש" – להוציא את הקטן. "אשר ישכב את זכר" – אף הקטן במשמע.
In verse י"א, the text says "and a man" - meaning an adult male {13 and above}, then it keeps on telling all the laws of Incest. In verse כ"ב {"And with a male you shall not..."}, it. Says a male.
According to Sfara, Kdoshim, it means a male shall not lie with any other male - minor and adult as one.
So, in conclusion, there is definitely mistranslation from the original text to the old testament in the Christian's bible, but it's not explicit about Pedophilia.
Reblog or comment if you have anything to add, this is a very big topic.
Have an easy and meaningful fast.

i interpret it as wanting to not “waste” semen, anal sex was prohibited for the same reason male masturbation was; semen was life, and wasting that was an abomination. so many different interpretations beyond homophobia!

saw a bunch of comments on tik tok from people saying they passed out or threw up today from fasting for yom kippur and y’all!!! please don’t stretch yourself this far!!!!!! PLEASE if you are fasting do NOT allow yourself to get to the point where you’re losing consciousness or vomiting. take a water bottle and/or juice and small snack with you even if you plan on fully fasting, and if you feel yourself getting woozy or nauseous then break your fast. and if you haven’t fasted before, then don’t jump right into a full 26 hour fast. start slow and build up to it. it gets easier when you recognize what your body can and can’t handle, but again if you’re fasting and start to feel ill, you are not only welcome to but obligated to break your fast. it’s a mitzvah to do so if your health is affected.
Tonight-pur is Yom Kippur.
To all my fellow Jews, If you are fasting tonight and tomorrow, I wish you a meaningful fast.
If you are not fasting for any reason, I wish you a meaningful mitzvah of eating and taking care of yourself.
To everyone, I wish you all a meaningful day of prayer, introspection, reflection on the holiest day of the year.
Love you guys.
Ten Tips for an Easy Yom Kippur Fast
Fasting doesn’t necessarily mean suffering. There’s quite a bit we can do to alleviate the bodily and mental stress that normally accompanies a fast. The day before the fast, follow the following guidelines:
1. Cut down your caffeine intake to minimize headaches. That means stop drinking coffee, tea, and cola at least eight hours before the fast, and preferably twenty-four hours before the fast.
2. Avoid salty, spicey, and fried foods on the day before the fast.
3. Avoid white sugar, white flour, and white rice. Eat whole-grained foods such as brown rice and whole-wheat bread or challa.
4. Drink a lot of water all day long.
5. Eat a good breakfast that includes fruits, veggies, eggs or sardines, and whole grains.
6. The pre-Yom Kippur meal (se’uda mafseket) should include baked or broiled fish, a veggy salad, consomme, a small portion of chicken or turkey, and a side dish of complex carbohydrates. Substitute sweet deserts with watermelon or other water-retaining fresh fruit, and a cup of herb tea with a whole-grain cookie.
On Yom Kippur:
7. The more you immerse yourself in prayer, the less you’ll think about food.
8. Rest between prayers. Don’t run around outside, especially in the hot sun. Save your voice for prayers. Idle talking will make you thirstier, and will detract from the holiness of the day.
After the fast:
9. Drink two glasses of water, and then eat solids gradually, so as not to shock the digestive system. Begin with fruit, like plums or grapes. The worst thing people do is to consume pastries and soft drinks, or “lekach un bronfan” (cake and liquor) right after the fast (these are unhealthy anytime, all the more so right after the fast when they give your body a shock of glucose).
10. Forty-five minutes to an hour afterwards, one can eat a balanced meal with protein, carbohydrates, and vegetables. After eating, relax for an hour with your favorite book (preferably Gemara of the laws of Succoth from Shulchan Oruch) and your favorite beverage, then begin constructing your Succa.
Attention diabetics, heart patients, folks with high blood pressure, and people whose health depends on regular medication - you must be especially careful to ask your doctor if you are capable of fasting, and then consult with your local rabbi, giving him the doctor’s exact opinion. For many such people, it is a mitzva not to fast on Yom Kippur.
Hello jumblr I hope we all have a meaningful yom Kippur and if we are fasting an easy fast
צום קל ומועיל לכולם!
