Prompt: Minato's and your absolute (??) fear

"Mi-Minato, I can't move.." A terrified voice can be heard in the quiet space. Your heart thumped inside your chest, your body almost shaking in fear.

"It's getting closer, what should I do!!" You glanced at the blond man just a few meters behind you, you yourself about to cry.

The blond man bit his lip and said in a stern voice, "You have to move, (y/n). If I move, we'll all die." Minato then continued, "You have to call for help. Look for Fugaku, he should not be so far from here."

"You know I love you, (y/n), you can do it. " Minato finished with a smile on his face.

"B-but if I move.." You weren't able to continue your sentence out of fear, your brain looking for any way out, "Toad.. your toad.. use your toad!"

Minato widened his eyes in realization and quickly summoned a toad to go look for Fugaku. Noticing the hurried expression of the summoner, the toad immediately disappeared and frantically searched for Fugaku. A few moments later, Fugaku arrived at the scene breathing heavily, a kunai gripped tightly on his hand.

"Fugaku! You're here!" Minato let out a huge breath in relief at the presence of his friend.

Fugaku's eyes darted around the room looking for the threat inside the room before noticing what his friends are doing. The Yondaime of Konoha was crouching down trapping something with a transparent cup and his wife is standing frozen as if a statue.

"....Minato, (y/n), it's only a bug." Fugaku said in a deadpan voice.

You interrupted him, "It's not only a bug! They are 2 flying damn cockroaches!" You feel like the cockroach on your thigh seems to be crawling towards you even faster, "Fast, Fugaku!! KILL THE DAMN FUCKING COCKROACH!!"

Fugaku sighed in unfiltered exasperration and wondered how 2 of the strongest shinobis in the village are terrified of cockroaches. This is simply outrageous, Fugaku thought.

Often times, Kakashi lets you do things to him while he watched you fondly with an amused expression behind his mask.

He lets you put flower crowns on top of his head

You two were leaning under the shade of a tree just a little bit farther from the training ground, Kakashi leaning on your shoulder. Kakashi glanced at the thing you were making, a light blue flower crown. Still leaning his head on your shoulder, he looked at the crown with dread, his eye twitching at it. He kind of knew where that thing is going to be sitting itself at.

Meanwhile, you were putting ornaments on the crown, meticulously finishing it with small white flowers and baby's-breaths around it.

"Kashi, Kashi," You called him for his attention. He glanced up at you and straightened himself up to a sitting position.

"Hmm?" Kakashi lazily looked at you.

"Uh huh." You proudly showed him your flower crown. "Can I put it on you?" You were looking at him so expectantly with that bright smile of yours. Kakashi was about to open his mouth and say no, but your expectant and blinking gaze at him made it impossible.

"........alright." Kakashi relented, blushing a bit under his mask. A soft laugh can be heard from you, putting the crown around Kakashi's head. You were admiring it as if it was a masterpiece and commenting on how his silver hair mashes with the light blue and white flowers. Kakashi thought he must have looked stupid with that but you looked so happy he can only shake his head in fondness.

He lets you dry his hair

No one is allowed to touch the gravity-defying hair of the Copy Ninja. It was sacred. That's what people thought.

You, on the other side, often ruffled and dried his hair for him! Kakashi allowed it because it felt damn good, not that he would say it aloud. Whenever he finished showering and you both have nothing better to do, you ushered him to come over to you so you can dry his hair because 'you'll go bald if you continue drying your hair that way," Your words, not his.

Kakashi knew his after-shower hair was limp, unlike his usual hair. and somehow often tangled. His silver fringes also covered some of his forehead, water droplets dripping from them. He walked over to you with wet hair and then turned his body from you waiting for your touch. He sat on a chair.

You took the towel from him and stood up to start patting his silver hair.

"Oh Kashi, will you use a conditioner? Your hair has a lot of tangles!" You grumbled while untangling his damp hair.

"Maa," Kakashi drawled, "The smell is too strong for me, (y/n)." You sighed because you can sort of imagine the drawbacks of having a strong sense of smell like him. Even though you grumbled, but the small smile on your face said otherwise.

He closed his eyes in relaxation and enjoyed the feeling of your fingers smoothing his hair. Oh, Kakashi also thought that it's better not to use a conditioner if you're going to be drying and untangling his hair like this, even more when he knew you also liked doing that for him. So everything's good, Kakashi thought.

He lets you cuddle (?) him

Being the short one in the relationship, Kakashi always becomes the big spoon. You weren't exactly short but Kakashi was just super tall yknow. Once in a while, you wanted to be the one cuddling him, instead of him cuddling you.

"Kashi, I want to cuddle you tonight." You said with a straight face, already in your sleep pajamas.

Kakashi looked up from his book and tilted his head in confusion, "Baby, we're.. always cuddling?" He didn't really understand what you mean.

"No no, I want to cuddle you, instead of you cuddling me." You tried to explain yourself by emphasizing on the 'you' and 'I'.

"Uh right." Kakashi nodded blankly at you before you immediately ushered him to bed and lied him down. Kakashi stiffly faced one side of the bed and blinked confusedly. What are you going to do, Kakashi wondered.

Kakashi felt you put your short legs and arms around him, looking like a koala latching itself into its mom. Shifting yourself more comfortably, you also leaned your head against his firm back. Kakashi felt laughter bubbling inside him and chuckled good-naturedly.

You hugging him felt good so he didn't protest. He proceeded to intertwine your hands which were rested comfortably on the side of his stomach. Kakashi glanced at you behind him to see you closing your eyes with a small smile on your face. He too, closed his eyes and went to sleep thinking fondly about you.

I really feel that these domestic things are what describes Kakashi the most. this man is just so broken that I feel the need to write cute things abt him :")

Tw. Depressive thoughts & suicide

Minato knew there had to be something wrong. He glanced at his watch. His little prodigy was late to their training. Since the personal apprenticeship began almost a year ago, never did Kakashi miss his practice like this. Well, Minato understood that little Kakashi had a certain White Fang to impress after all. He chuckled at the cute thought before remembering the White Fang again.

It had been 5 months after the ill-fated mission. The first few months were the hardest for them. Fortunately, according to Kakashi, his dad seems to be better now and Minato also noticed that Kakashi's body language started relaxing slightly again these days. He took it as a good sign.

Focusing on the matter at hand, Minato extended his sensing perimeter to look for Kakashi's chakra. He frowned when he noticed Kakashi's chakra so dim and clamped to himself. At his own house, on top of that. He felt worried for a second. Were they attacked?, he thought.

He rushed to Kakashi's house and busted open the door. The house was dark and silent except for one study room that had its door halfway open. Light coming from the inside. There was no traces of enemy at all, so the Hatakes must be there.

"Kakashi? Sakumo-san?" Minato called out in the empty hallway, walking towards the only source of light. He still looked around warily in case there was an enemy he didn't realize.

No one answered him. Frowning, he continued walking to the study room. He slided the door open and dread immediately washed over him. His jaw gaped wide and the kunai he had clutched on his hand dropped with a clang.

Kakashi, 6 year-old Kakashi, was standing upon the bloody mess of his father's body. A pool of dried blood was staining the wooden floor, the smell of blood so strong in the air. Hatake Sakumo was lying on the floor, his mouth has lines of blood on the edges and a white tanto was sticking itself from his stomach. Even worse, Kakashi's clothes looked like it was also stained with blood.

"Kakashi!" Minato flashed to the boy and hugged the boy protectively to his chest, as if it would erase the memory of Sakumo's dead body from his mind.

He quickly summoned his toad and ordered it to notify the hospital and the Hokage. Judging from the dried blood, Sakumo had been dead for quite a few hours. Minato scrunched his nose to the metallic smell of blood.

"Kakashi, how long.. have you been here?" Minato looked at the boy before him. He couldn't imagine how being in a room with their father's dead body would feel like.

The boy didn't answer him at all. His eyes were blank and they were gazing downwards his own feet. Looking at Kakashi this close, Minato had just noticed the severe shaking on the boy's body, his hands and clothes with splatters of dried blood. Splatters. Minato froze. Hatake Sakumo didn't just commit suicide. He committed suicide right in front of his own son.

The medics came and Minato gave a quick report, intending to flash away from the bloody house with Kakashi asap. He flashed to his own house, surprising Kushina in the process.

He used the standard Konoha sign and informed Kushina of the whole thing. Kushina immediately moved to prepare a warm bath for Kakashi.

Meanwhile, Minato sat Kakashi down and crouched to his height. "Do you want.. to tell me what happened?"

Silence answered him. Minato waited. A few minutes went by and Kakashi's mask moved as if opening his mouth but nothing came out. Tick tock. Minato still waited. Kakashi opened his mouth again and with a small voice he spoke softly,

"It must have been nice to be dead."

Minato froze. His heart was shattered the moment he heard those words. He immediately cradled Kakashi's face with his hands and touched their foreheads together murmuring, "No, no, Kakashi. Don't ever think that. I'm here and Kushina's here. You-"

Minato gulped. He cannot trust his voice to not break that he even paused his sentence. He took a shaky deep breath and pursed his lips. He pulled the boy closer to him. Looks like all he can do for now is stay by Kakashi's side and he swears he intends to do just that, and no one can stop him. Not even the Hokage.

Hi! There's not a lot of dialogue here bcs this scene was just too painful for Kakashi to realistically talk, you know. I dare say this is one of the prompts I created that I'm proud of, I think. one of my personal favorites Hahaha :) btw picture not from tumblr and not mine!
