We can assume that, because he can see multiple universes, such as the ones where Dipper and Mabel didn't survive.

That has to be AT LEAST ONE where he and Ford are together as a couple, and I believe that he tortures himself with this information, knowing that he ruined them.

That everything that happened was his fault, and at some point, he accepted, not putting Ford first and his plans of destroying the universe aside for Ford.

I BELIEVE HE FULLY KNOWS HE COULD'VE BEEN WITH FORD OR KNOWS THAT THERE IS A UNIVERSE WHERE THEIR LOVE COULD EXIST AND WAS DOOMED FROM THE START OR HE RUINED WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN AND THAT IS WHY HE IS SO DESPERATE.

What I like to belive is Ford threw them out due to shame or embarrassment of what him and Bill were and wanted no one to truly see 100% what they were.

And Bill took them (the pages, maybe even more photos and notes) to remember what he and Ford were, considering the tiny look we get into how pathic Bill is for Ford.

something ive seen no one talk about is how Bill was in possession of those lost journal 3 pages that are basically just about him and Ford and whatever situation-ship they were having at the time they were written. It’s definitely not imposible for him to just have conjured them up from nowhere, and honestly i thinks the most likely thing that happened. But unless Ford, idk, burned them immediately, Bill might have kept them after they were torn out. but for why? Hmmmm🤔

really if you simplify it. Bill just stole pages about himself from Fords diary for no reason other than he’s just a stupid loser
