Happy Ffwf! What's Your Favourite Fandom To Write For? Is There A Fandom You Haven't Written For Yet

Happy ffwf! What's your favourite fandom to write for? Is there a fandom you haven't written for yet but want to?

And Happy FFWF to you! My favorite fandom to write for at the moment is the MCU (specifically Spider-Man lol) but lately @lyssismagical has been making me want to rewatch Glee and write some Klaine... but who knows if I'll ever do that haha?

Fanfic Writer Friday

Alright fellow fanfic friends, it’s Friday, the best day of the week, and it’s about to get a lot more fun. Ya know why?

Reblog this post if you want people to send you asks about your writing process, wip/fics, or headcanons today! For each ask you get, send and ask back in return!

This is a weekly event, to be held every Friday (obviously) and is open to all fanfic writers in any fandom! Don’t be shy about sending asks to blogs you don’t know—this is a great way for writers to get to know different blogs and fics, and make new friends!

(in case you feel like you’ve seen something like this before, this is based of of writeblr’s Storyteller Saturday, aka STS!)

Happy Fanfic Writer Friday (#FFWF)! Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

So for the Neighborhood Fic Exhange (not the current one, the last one) I wrote two fics for the same person featuring two completely different Irondad relationships (early vs. late) as well as two different plot focuses (action vs emotion I guess) but I haven't published/edited the second one yet and I'm not sure if I will so the only person aware of the parallels and contrasts is me lol. But in a longer fic I hope to write soon, I've already started to sprinkle in some foreshadowing and plot out some parts that will only make sense after the big plot reveal or whatever. Honestly coming up with foreshadowing and symbols and stuff like that is one of my favorite parts of writing.

Happy Fanfic Writer Friday! What inspired your most recent fic?

Happy FFWF! (is there two Fs?)

My most recent fic (which I am still fleshing out) was actually inspired by a YA book I read a few years ago in a series called the Gallagher Series or something like that. I haven't read it in years but while I was writing out a few pieces of dialogue and ideas for the fic I kept thinking back to elements of the book in that series called Out of Sight, Out of Mind. It's a boring answer and until I figure out if I'm actually going through with this fic I don't want to divulge too much information. :)

Happy Fanfic Writer Friday (#FFWF)! Do you prefer to write AUs, canon divergent, or canon-compliant fic?

Happy FFWF to you! Considering that I tend to block out some important parts of canon when I write for Marvel, canon-divergent is always the way to go. Tony Stark dying? Never happened. Must have read it in a fic or something. 🤷‍♀️

In all seriousness however, I do prefer canon-divergent because it gives me more room to take certain liberties with the plot and also more space to deepen relationships and elaborate on elements of canon that weren't touched on, or to interpret certain elements differently. This also means I don't have to stress too much about plot holes, since I'm already diverging from the plot anyways. :)

Thanks for the ask by the way!
