I've thought the same and the only thing I can come up with is that she simply wasn't interested in being great in combat. According to her wiki it's canon that she she was more peaceful and in-tune with her spirituality, rather than wanting to engage in open conflict. They also describe her as somewhat of a hippy. The whole reason she left the southern water tribe was to find herself and move out of the shadow of simply being Katara's daughter and wanting to be known as a renown healer in her own right. Which she did achieve. So in conclusion: I think she simply isn't interested in being a good fighter and focused on her healing.

It should also be noted that katara was a special case within waterbending. She mastered waterbending in literally mere months. Perhaps Kya's natural talent was in healing like her mother's was in combat.

I was rewatching LOK and I couldn’t help but notice how Kya wasn’t that great at waterbending. Don’t get me wrong, she’s still amazing, but considering her mom was literally Katara, she could’ve been a little better? I was watching that scene when Kya was fighting Zaheer, and all I could think was, “Katara would’ve DESTROYED him. What’s going on Kya?” I told my dad this and he was all like “maybe she wasn’t trained as much in combat. Maybe she was more trained in healing.” And I practically screamed, “HOW COULD KATARA STAND FOR THAT???” Anyway feel free to fight me on this but I think Kya could’ve been a better bender. Did Katara not train her? Did Kya not have a huge passion for improving her waterbending? Was Kya better when she was younger? HELP ME UNDERSTAND

I think female avatars learned waterbending in the southern tribe

I got a question, if Paku says that women can’t learn waterbending, other than healing, does that mean all the female Avatars only learned the healing side of waterbending or did they make an exception for the female avatars?

Thanos literally had to sucker punch carol with the power stone. Yes Wanda is powerful and YES she has the potential to be the most powerful character in the MCU but she's not there yet.

No one was able to hold back Thanos on their own. Especially not when he had his stones. But who was the one person who managed to hold him back no matter what? 

Scarlet Witch. 

She held him back with one hand while going through a shitload of emotional trauma and having to kill the one person she loved most. And, Thanos only called Rain Fire because our girl was about to fucking demolish him. 

Marvel doesn’t give Scarlet Witch enough credit. She’s lost so much and still manages to be (and again, only stating facts here) The STRONGEST Avenger. I wanna see nothing but love for my girl.  

House of M was literally used as a device to vilify her, and it's a poor depiction of what mental health is like. its poor writing and not a representation of what kind of person Wanda actually is..... not to mention she was manipulated and mistreated to the point that she wasn't unaware of what was real and what wasn't..... she was abused and manipulated by someone who was supposed to be her father, and lost the only person who actually had her best interests at heart. When magneto killed Pietro, she broke and then what happened afterwards happened.

ALSO, I see people giving Wanda shit all the time but no one ever brings up the what the inhumans did to mutants.... but anyway.

Wanda is a victim of abuse gaslighted and manipulated to an extent that she genuinely can’t tell what’s real during house of m, labeled genocidal (despite not actually committing genocide/being the child of holocaust survivors) by a group of people that, during the moment that pic illustrates, are teammates of wolverine and magneto (both multiple murderers) and Wanda LITERALLY doesn’t even know what she did/that she had powers then, either. And they were gonna kill her on her wedding day, too.

Okay, gonna guess you know more about Scarlet Witch than I do. I’ll admit my knowledge of Wanda isn’t super deep and goes ‘something something about Magda, something about Chthon, chaos magic, something High Evolutionary, Magneto, Pietro, Vizh, etc.’ You say she’s a victim, I won’t fight you on that.

At the same time…your girl de-powered THOUSANDS of mutants. 986,420 mutants according to HoX. That’s nothing to just brush aside. I’d say that the mutants were decisively the victims of House of M and they’re not bullies for being pissed the fuck off about it.
